I think youre overblowing the amount of times our wideouts have to make circus catches. Theyve dropped plenty of routine plays lately. And when called on to make circus catches or at some point turn a five yard gain into a 20 yard gain they should be doing that as well.

The Bills need to look into drafting a #2 wideout this year. Need youth at the position and hopefully someone with speed and reliable hands.

Its getting to the point with the receiving corp and running backs where Josh may have to literally run the ball up to them and hand it to them gently. This happened in the playoffs last year as well. Missed opportunities and drops.

Rookie QBs should not be compared just to other quarterbacks from their rookie class, its such a low bar given on average 20% of Quarterbacks from any given class even have average careers. I havent seen Mac play yet, but I dont think his early success was hard to predict. Outside of Lawrence, who has far superior physical gifts, he was the most pro ready player coming into the draft. That said, when compared with other first round quarterbacks since 2012 he is having a top ten rookie season. I dont think its fair to make him out to be some game manager because he is doing more than that. But rookie seasons are rookie seasons. We will have to see how it plays out. I dont think its inaccurate to say that Watson, Luck, Burrow, Wentz, Mariota, Mayfield, Daniel Jones and Kyler Murray all had better rookie season statistically speaking, but Jones is winning too. A lot of hyperbole going around about Mac and Cheese. Fear, no. Healthy respect, yes for now.

The Bills outsmarted themselves with Spiller. They were so worried about his weight and inability to run between the tackles that they didnt use him as a feature back until three years into his career. Then he ended up under the curse of St. Doug who wanted punishing backs, and huge offensive lineman. Pretty sure the front office and coaches here essentially wasted an incredible talent.

They could have drated Ngata over Whitner. or Orakpo over Maybin and none of it wouldnt have mattered a thing with Jp Losman, Trent Edwards, Brian Brohm, and Ryan Fitzpatrick at QB. A lot of bad coaches look good because of great quarterbacks. IMO Jauron was a better coach than Chan, but his tepid personality just made it unbearable.
