His responsibility wasn't to cover both Brown and Henry on the same play, his responsibility was determined by the offensive playcall. It's football 101. Even the Linebackers on my JV football team have gap responsibility for a running back on a run play, and need to drop into a zone if its a pass play, its not complicated. Edmunds had the middle zone on those A.J. Brown routes and failed to drop into the zone because he got sucked forward by the play action thinking he had to fill the run gap. The Bills play zone coverage, so my guess (again I dont have All 22) is that Wallace was supposed to pass the coverage off over the middle of the field, which is why he was 1-2 yards off Brown when he caught the ball on those crossers. Maybe the Bills were in man coverage, but I highly doubt they switched to man principles against AJ Brown and Julio Jones where their Cornerbacks would be grossly overmatched in both size and speed.

I for one am shocked and appalled that a college program would deviate from the rules when recruiting...... and still be so bad. -
I dont have all 22, but I thought the linebackers were putrid in the game. Feel like both Edmunds and Milano had a terrible time getting off of their blocks, forcing our safeties to take on Henry way too much. I also thought Edmunds did a bad job on getting enough depth versus A.J. Brown's crossing routes. He anticipated run plays stepped up out of his zone and let the wideout cross through his zone free. Admittedly I am not a big Edmunds fan, but I thought he was turning a corner coming off of two excellent games. However, I think the bad linebacker play was a big reason the defense got run over on Monday.

What are your thoughts on Ed Oliver?

I am not convinced theyll pick uo his 5th year option. Hes a fine rotational piece but nowhere near the player to justify the money his option will cost. -

I think its more about you criticizing the one guy who kept the Bills in the game that makes people think youre being insane. Not the defense who gave up 150 yards rushing, couldnt sniff Tannehills jock on their pass rush or get enough depth in their drops to stop crossing patterns. Not the RT who couldnt block or the backup linebacker who had an 80 yard holding penalty. But the guy who threw for 353 yards and three tds. You may be reaching. -

Wrong. Josh played his balls off and the defense let the team down. -
Rank The Buffalo Bills Starting QB’s Since Jim Kelly

In terms of what they accomplished while they were here. Bledsoe had some nice throwing stats while he was here, but 140 sacks in three seasons was atrocious to watch. Love Fitz but he got too much time for what he was able to put on the field. With the crap the Bills put on the field during the drought, feel like Holcomb and Thad Lewis deserved more of a shot at it. Anybody Barkley and below set Quarterbacking into the past 50 years during their time here. Josh Allen Doug Flutie Tyrod Taylor Kyle Orton Drew Bledsoe Ryan Fitzpatrick Rob Johnson EJ Manuel Thad Lewis Kelly Holcomb Matt Barkley Trent Edwards J.P. Losman Todd Collins Jeff Tuel Derek Anderson Alex Van Pelt Nathan Peterman Brian Brohm Matt Cassel -
So he burns all his Dolphins stuff...wearning Dolphins stuff. Bright fella.

Anyone still want to argue with me about Flores being a good head coach? Said it since he was hired. The media crowned him and he hadnt done a thing.

In other news the Cards just won the 2018 Super Bowl.

Fully understand, and agree. Think he is miscast in the offense. Loved his college tape.
-
Agree to disagree, but Reagor is an incredibly talented player. He was a 1st round pick for a reason. Maybe it never works out, but the talent level is very high.
-
I agree on their Oline, but it goes more to the point on Sirianni. You know you cant protect your QB but then you go out there and try and throw 40 yard passes. They have very talented wideouts, figure out how to get them ball in space. Run some jet sweeps. Try to get the ball to the sidelines. You probably cant hide the oline all game, but you dont have to make it worse.

Philadelphia may have a Quarterback issue, but more than anything else they have a Coaching and offensive line issue. How they hired a guy who had never called plays in the NFL is beyond me. If they were planning to go with a young Quarterback they needed a seasoned NFL coach who at the very least had called his own plays at the pro level. The play calling was horrendous last night. He has no awareness of his team, what they do best, and how to shape a game plan around it. His main objective last night was to try and push the ball downfield with a terrible offensive line, and no run game to offset the pass rush. I think Hurts has a ton of talent, but his head coach is not doing him any favors helping to slow the game down.

Philadelphia looks like they have two plays. 1. Hurts deep drops and tries to go deep. 2. Hurts deep drops looks to go deep and then runs. They need to start running the ball or start running screens or else Shaq Barrett is going to keep teeing off.
-
Agreed. Part of me thinks they need to start dragging the waters in the nature reserve where he and his family had their get together before he went missing.
-
Agree. Not 100% sure what the answer is. Either go back to one team, expand the number of teams, or shorten the season and make the wild card a three game series, but its pointless right now.

Very impressed with Groot so far. The play he made on the INT Monday was very reminiscent of a play I recall Bruce making back in the day. Not comparing Groot with Smith, but the athleticism it takes to first get your hands up, and then catch your batted ball in a lateral motion was impressive. Hoping its only up from here!

I hate the MLBs wild card format. You have a 162 game season, and it comes down to one game anyways.
