These picks through round 4 would be awesome. I think this is only mock I've seen with a QB pick. Most would see this as a wasted pick, but I would say it would be smart in Round 4 or later. We always admire other teams that draft QBs even though they have franchise QBs, but now we think we have a franchise QB, but we really don't know. Allen's mechanics are sometimes EJ like, and he is an injury waiting to happen, again EJ like. I wouldn't be surprised if the following are on Bean's radar: Minshew (Wash St), Thorson (NW), and McSorley (PennSt). If Murray is still there in round 3, we must get that dude. Again, I think it would be smart to draft a QB.

I remember the 3rd quarter was like going to the dentist. We had 8 pro bowlers to their 6. Comparing the 26 man roster, we had probably 20 better players. Too much partying led to fatigue of our tacklers in 3rd quarter. I bet Bill's defense was tucked in and snoring when the clock struck 12 on Sat night; whereas, Marv's approach was that he would not try to control grown men. Also, of all the SBs, we must admit that Bill was the smartest man on the field that night. History validates since then. One final note. While many conclude that we were better team, comparing strength of schedule, ours was far easier, and Giants played tougher teams tougher. They definitely played tougher than night. Ask Andre Reed. Maybe they were really just 1 point better at the end. Instead of excuses, I tip my hat to the tougher team and smarter coach.

Coming attractions: Coaches will get a challenge of no call in the last 2 minutes when the new season starts. They should put it in right now.

Jim Kelly wants to sit down with Josh Allen...
Ga boy replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jimbo is HOF. I think he would know more about QB than 90% of the entire NFL coaching world. If I was JA, I would show up with a notepad.- 139 replies

How long to close the competitive gap?
Ga boy replied to Ga boy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wonder how many guys who were in the draft room in 2017 are still around? Any second tier executives, scouts, etc?? If so, I bet some are walking around thinking "I told you so" about Mahomes. I would be. I get that there was a reluctance to roll the dice on a franchise QB with the changes coming. However, I'm sure that anyone (still present or exited) who was a Mahomes man is feeling vindicated these days ... -
How long to close the competitive gap?
Ga boy replied to Ga boy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As OP, I wasn't expecting 100% agreement, but was hoping for a clear consensus. I think this thread must stay open until we get there. C'mon, let's process, evaluate, and get to essentials. This lack of consensus resulted in the 17 year drought. Let's not go down that road again, plez. -
I'm not that impressed with most of the playoff teams I watched the past 2 weeks. The games were mostly hard to watch. Pats, Rams, Chiefs, and Saints are the best this year; however, Pats and Saints will be falling off soon once the QBs exit. We're not that far from being competitive with the other 27 teams. I see us getting there with 4 key players: 2 OL, 1 WR, and a pass rusher. Also, the playoffs validate once again that QB is key, and we've got ours now. I look forward to being regular participants in the January games into the 20s. Go Bills!!

Who was GM when Jason Peters was dealt?
Ga boy replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I remember seeing Peters at his first training camp at St. John's. I said who's that guy at TE. He looks like a giant. I agree with those who say mgt and/or ownership missed on this one. -
Agree with point about taxes and cost of living. I now live in Northern Va. My home is over $400K. In Bflo, it would be almost half. I also lived around Atlanta. Hot and no sense of community. I'm married to a Bflo girl, and we lived there 5 years. Loved every minute, except maybe March and April. Growing up in Augusta, I was ready to play golf. Buffalo has the best summers, falls, and the winter outdoor activities. Good food and performing arts and higher ed. Count your blessings, folks, you've got it pretty dang good in Buffalo.

I liked the Pack more when Favre was flinging the tater. Pats make me puke. Boys make me belch. The following make me go to sleep: Texans, Cards, Hawks, Bucs, Titans, Lions, Bungles, Ravens, and Jags. Jets and Phish give me methane. Bills make me shout. I kinda like Chargers, Vikes, and all of Bird teams in states starting with P and G. Skins give me nausea. Browns make me get down. Panthers make me wet my pants. Finally, Saints make me faint. My fav NFC team may be da Bears. Like to see Bills and Bears in SB in 2021. Go Bills!!!

Seems that many are going gaga over Barkley, but the Jets D can't compare to the Bears. Yes, he had much more time than NP has ever had. If the Jags were game planning for Barkley, I don't think the results would be impressive. If Josh has an ugly game against Jags (and he probably will), everyone will be screaming for Barkley. Josh is the future. He needs the reps to get better. While he needs to air it out like Barkley, he will not have the same time with the Jags. The last 6 games will tell us a lot about Josh. The Jags game will be tough for him, but he should impress against Miami, Jets, Detroit, and Patsies.

Week 10 Bills @ Jets second half thread
Ga boy replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jets look like Bills last week against Bears D. D is the difference. -
With this O line and receiving corps, it is impossible to evaluate either NP or JA. The first quarter shows that NP can run the offense; however, a high percentage of the time, NP has been in games (LAC, Balt, Chi) that are jail breaks and he's running for his life. Not many QBs can impress under these circumstances. Finally, while NP gets a beat down for his performance in the Bears game, if it was JA, most would say that he played solid. I say NP made progress in that game, even though the best defense was sending the kitchen sink. The no hail Mary was a bone-head play. The rest was pretty good all things considered.
-
There are a lot of starters who would not have won the game with our O line and receivers. I'm not convinced that we can evaluate NP or JA with this offense. Every game that NP has been in has been a jail break. How can we expect a QB to do well when he's been under constant duress? Mahomes wouldn't have a chance here. Our biggest problem is not QB.

Question Regarding the QB situation
Ga boy replied to End The Drought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gosh, we haven't seen enough of Josh to say he's not an NFL QB. I guess you don't like apple pie either. He needs to get the reps even though he has no help. I'm afraid that come January, we will not know anymore than we know today. We need to get a running game, otherwise, this kid will be running for his life when he gets back in. Not a good situation to evaluate a QB. -
Next week: BILLS 42, PATS 27!!!
Ga boy replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Someone should text Bill and tell him that we're just re-building and he should give Tom a week off so that he rested for teams that are not re-building. -
Why the handling of the QBs wouldn't have changed anything
Ga boy replied to oldmanfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The biggest gamble was NP being the bridge over troubled waters. Some would say Bridgewater could've been the answer, but, just wishful thinking. Coach put his hopes on NP. The miscalculation was the college-level receivers and O line. Bridgewater or anyone would be running for his life. Like in golf, we are a 18 handicapper going against a scratch golfer, and not getting enough strokes in the bet on the first tee. Let's just be happy with seeing the process get us 4 wins, and a high draft pick. -
IF they offer a 2nd, sign on the dotted line in a skinny minute. He could get hurt in the next game. He's probably only good for 8 more games max this year. It gets worst next year. We won't get anything then. The Eagles want him bad. Shady would love to go home. Call'em now. Josh needs to find friends his own age.

Trent Dilfer: "I don't think Josh Allen should be playing"
Ga boy replied to VW82's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've gotta agree with VW. Brady knows 90% of the time where the ball is going before he takes one step backward. Earlier I criticized TT for not having a mindset to throw the ball, and not ready to throw it. JA has the former but he's not ready to throw it. Going through the progressions is overblown. In summer, I argued that he must be coached to throw it in 2 secs, but it seems he hasn't been. Please teach the guy to throw it in 2 secs!!! -
