💯 right on the need for a”needle moving” DE.. Let’s face it, even with a stronger CB2, what changes a game more? A group of good DBs who have to cover KCs WRs for 4.5 seconds or a group of average DBs who have to cover the same WRs for 2 seconds? Forcing the quick pass is always better. Even great DBs can’t cover for too long. Time to get a great pass rush because AJ seems like a prayer at this point.

Disagree fully. This is the worst team I have seen assembled in their history. This is a tank team with out trying to tank and with a big payroll. Multiple superstars playing like they could care less. Awful team. Flip to other games then flip on the Sabres. The Sabres play at a pace like a junior team and pass even worse. They are totally outclassed and even Ullmark is slightly above mediocre on a scale to the rest of the league. The excuses do not cover my topics mentioned. Spending wildly on non scorers, hiring inexperience NHL coaches and GMs, gutting your scouts, using non experienced staff where even multiple NHL people question where the Sabres even are, and not even having basic positions like assistant GM. The Pegulas have no business running a hockey org. They are awful at it. Stop running this like a minor league farm team.

The draft is whete you find spots that provide the biggest upgrades to your roster. We need the biggest upgrades at CB2 and DE and then at G, C, and Big Nickel, Big DL depth and Swing Tackle. That’s 7 positions in more need of a major upgrade than RB right now unless you are going round 1RB which would seriously impact the huge impact you could have on the upgrade to CB2 or DE for years to come. They may even surprise you and draft Mitch Morse’s replacement in the first 2 rounds!

Bottom line is they have crap goaltending, they spent a top overall pick on a dman who is barely noticeable most nights, they have $20 million sunk into 3 players who barely score goals (Skinner, Okposo, and Hall) which is ALL poor management not poor luck or a perfect storm. You have a questionable management team, with a choice not to have deep NHL management experience from you GM, down to your non existent assistant front office, coaching staff, and limited scouting. Pegula owns this poor structure as much as he owns building the Bills strong one. He needs to step away from Hockey. His family is awful at it. Being a fan isn’t enough.

This is truly a hedge your bet pickup. He is better than Wade as a return candidate to compete against McKenzie since no Rugby guy ever fields balls at the angles of the NFL and he also is no worse than Yeldon as an RB3. He could just as easily be cut. Low risk pickup.

If the Jets stand by Darnold and don’t draft a QB in round 1 then we are big winners !!

Let’s face it. You can’t cover any WRs for 4+ seconds consistently but even garbage CBs can cover the best WRs for 2 seconds if you are getting home with major pressure rushing 4 every down. Having stud pass rush trumps having stud CBS every time. A top flight DE is a priority !

The title says best “WR” group so when you don’t factor in TEs that does make a case for us being better than KC because Kelce truly runs that engine. Tampa and Buffalo and truly the top 2 in terms of being 5 deep.

Their new QB is screwed with that weak WR room.... we know what they will be drafting!

Maybe the Sabres should change their name to Buffalo Shabby Hockey Squad for next year....

So here’s the part I don’t get about the Panthers. We know they don’t want us poaching their talent so it’s not like their coaches or scouts are helping Beane evaluate the guys for us, so what does he have water boys calling him with tips? I mean he hasn’t been there for years now.

Without a single decent QB in this division this is a bad take. Talk to me when someone signs a major QB. As a Bills fan you should know that it takes a QB to win. We didn’t have one and look what it got us for decades no matter how good the rest of the team was.

I live on a street with doctors and scientists driving $120k sports cars. Trust me that’s not the same community as people who own sports teams. Those communities are mega rich. Trust me they know each other. They all have yacht clubs and helicopters.

In my experience people with that level of wealth all go to the same country club and all like to connect each other to name drop and make more money. I do not live in these neighborhoods but I do know wealthy people and they really do like to talk about each other. They may not barbecue together like a common neighbor but believe me they know each other if they live in an exclusive neighborhood.

You know what passes I really like watching ? All those sweet 25-40 yard passes in the Miami game... it was when you really knew we might be on to something. Then the Seattle game sealed it.

Phillips has a second round grade and at least 50% of the mock drafts machines I have done still have Rousseau there. Some teams will not want to draft a 20 year old. The QB run will push a lot of talent into the high 20s.. if teams get enamored with the top RBs and WRs then one of them will be there.

Does he have a no trade clause he had to waive? You don’t think he would want to play with the best RB in the league?

If they can get Rousseau or Phillips from Miami in the draft in round 1 or 2, would either start? I know they both are considered to be starter potential year 1 but are both high ceiling players. Rousseau is a freak athlete as a Sophomore so I just don’t know that he can be impactful at that age yet.

I never realized Icky was only 1 year either. It really seemed like he had 3 good years didn’t it?

They are a terrible org but they should know that they can get a crap more value now than after June 1. So if he is gonna be moved is seems to be before the draft and it is super likely to be out of conference. They could go Panthers, Lions, or even Philly because all could hand them a current decent QB plus first round picks in the top 10 if they wanted.
