Put it this way, we paid Murphy $9 million to not dress last year. So you have to believe that we could get a ton out of Clowney’s skill set which is way better than that clown (pun intended) and than our rotational starter(s) there. At worst he gets moved around the line and becomes a chess piece for Frazier to get creative with. We need to generate pressure with 4 this year if we want to win it all. Personally I prefer Dunlop, but would be OK with Clowney especially if he could be more than a 1 year performer at a decent price ( <9 )
Or another Brown, Peyton Hillis, who had such a good year I think he even got on the cover of Madden. He went to the Pro Bowl after a 24 yard year the season before and then had like 500 yards the next year and was basically worthless after that.
Absolutely. With the covid market there will be signings in week 2 and 3 that will be really good players. Look at some of the guys who signed later last year and that was in a good money year. Some deal will get done around April 1.
This. Drafting outside the top 10 is not getting us a game changing pass rusher so we need someone who can impact us this year. We need it now. Our window is now.
I think his numbers will be almost the same as this year. I figure his TD passes will be down a couple as we try to focus on running more inside the 20 and we may not jet sweep as much.
No a CB is not equal to a DE. You can’t cover any great receiver for 5 seconds if there is no rush. You can however cover most anyone for 2 seconds if you have a strong rush.
I love it that the lawyer says he knows nothing about the timing of free agency...hilarious. With that said when it’s seven women it’s also not likely something to look away from either. This isn’t going away in a week.
You forgot to mention resigned the Starting cover LB, starting RT, and starting G/Backup C to a multi concussed starting center ... so sorry to ruin your whiny rant...
Pick BPA that provides an upgrade so that could be CB, DE, G, RB, speed WR/PR, BigNickel, LB. I’m great with a CB at round 1 if it is for a CB2 starter with speed that can play man.
His elusiveness and speed is positive but a rugby player never learns to field high floating punts under duress so I would never roll the dice on this...
💯.... the Eagles probably want a 3rd rounder and we want to give them a 6th. We don’t have a 4th and we aren’t going lower than a 5th so they can pound sand!
I think they said to a guy like Morse. “ Hey Mitch you are being paid like a top 3 center and your peers and coaches didn’t vote you even as an 3rd alternate to any pro bowls. You also have an injury history and have missed playing time. Do you think you give a little here ?” That’s not a hard argument to make.
You forget they have an all pro in Chris Jones on the inside as a DT also. We don’t. That’s a big difference. You need 2 big time pass rushers to kill teams. In the 90s we had Bruce and Bennett. We absolutely need someone other than Jerry and we would be a totally different team. Oliver was supposed to be it but he just doesn’t ever look like he will be dominant.
I get the frustration about Taiwan. Every SB team usually has certain ingredients which include some special team star. Problem is Taiwan Jones is no star and he wastes a RB spot every week which means we often sit someone that could impact our crap running game. Can’t we find a friggin CB or WR gunner so we can dress someone that has value beyond 1 tackle a game? The guy doesn’t even make kickoff tackles!
If we drop $15 mil on an old TE instead of on a premium pass rusher I will lose my $h&t because we can already pass but we can’t rush the friggin passer !!!
