Josh Allen Running Style Versus Cam Newton
Mat68 replied to TroutDog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For his longevity he needs to avoid contact. Buffalo needs to remove the Qb runs. Allen needs to get down or out of bounds. In a playoff scenerio I undetstand leaving it on the feild. You cant survive in NFL running like that week in week outat Qb. -
Love that they doubled down on WR in this draft
Mat68 replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Anaylitic wise Davis has all the factors you want. He is also only 21. Big body guys who is a hand catcher. UCF played a few good cbs and Davis lit them up. Im not a scout and havent watch every guy available. More I see of Davis more I like. Word before the draft was the wrs were deep, and NFL starters will be had deep into the draft. As pass catchers, Mckenzie, Foster, and Williams were nowhere near the players coming out as Davis or Hodgins. I think both make it and they add things the offense hasnt had 2019. Interested to see if Buffalo will try to develop a big slot. -
It reminds me of "Last Dance" a bit. The Patriots were old, and limited on cap space. I think Bill has some Krause in him. Wants to be the smartest guy in the room and show he can win without the GOAT. I think either Stidham plays well enough to make the case Brady was done, or they bottom out and he puts himself into position for Lawernce or Feilds next year. Either outcome works. To be a contender again they need the later to happen imo.

You can draft the best player, you can fill a need. Accomplishing both while still getting good value is the key. Buffalo basically drafted a player a rd later than where they were rated. They left the draft with a question mark at punter and saftey depth. It might not be the the players people here were clamoring for. They got guys come August, who are going to push decent player off the roster.

RD 2, Pick 54: DE AJ Epenesa, University of Iowa
Mat68 replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Espenesa and Moss have massive upside. Epenesa is only 21. He dominted the big 10 and drafted OTs. He could become Cam Jordan or Michael Bennet for us. Thats more than just solid. Moss has the ability to be Hunt or Kamara quality. I think people are under selling both there ability and potential. -
RD 2, Pick 54: DE AJ Epenesa, University of Iowa
Mat68 replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I bet Dobbins and Moss were similar. Epenesa would have been the 1 guy sticking way out. 1. De is a more important position than Rb. 2. Almost everyone rated Espenesa 20 to 30 overall. 3. The draft was very thin at De and pretty deep at Rb. 4. Moss does not have the deep speed as Dobbins, he does make more defenders miss. At the start of day 2, Buffalo was primed for a solid player to fall to them. I think Epenesa was that player. The picks of Epenesa and Moss are not sexy, they are geat fits and provided the greatest value. On a playoff team with the majority of key players returning Buffalo added 2 guys who will be on the feild alot day 1. -
Rd 4, Pick 128: WR Gabriel Davis UCF
Mat68 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Davis is an interesting pick. Hes young and productive. I disnt know of him. I like his size and deep gear. He puts pressure on every wr not named Diggs, Brown or Beasley. With Espenesa 1, Moss 2, and Davis 3 is best combonation of DE, Rb and Wr as you could hope for. -
Healthy Skepticism for This Year's Draft Class...
Mat68 replied to glazeduck's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Imo it sounds like you are more willing to take a risk on an athlete. NFL football is not easier than college football. They got very good football players. If they had a more ideal athletic profile they wouldnt have been available at the positions they were drafted. The Bills have a fairly complete roster. With the lack of a #1 I feel like Beane went safe in the draft. With covid-19 the rookies wont get the normal coaching. Come September there isnt going to be a vast improvement. I think Beane feels each can compete and play tomorrow in the proper role if needed. -
Who else would be in slot in that scenerio? Mckenzie? Foster? Davis? Inbetween the 20s I think he has the route running and frame to be a big slot. Maybe he sucks. There is a reason why he lasted. I think outside the numbers down the feild he doesnt have the speed. Inside vs zone, nicklebacks or linebakers he could be successful pretty quickly imo. I dont see much development past that. Not great but a diminesion the team hasnt had.

RD 3, Pick 86: RB Zach Moss, University of Utah
Mat68 replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He made defenders miss at a similar rate as Singeltary in college. Bigger guy, little faster. I think he becomes a star. Both him and Singletary can do it all. The offense got insanley better. -
Im suprised by Hodges. His athletic profile is bizare to say the least. Has elite movement on a tall lanky frame. I think he could become our big slot very quickly.

I thought Buffalo's biggest needs going into the draft was De and Rb. They got 2 guys who were widely considered top 3 to top 5 for their positions at 54 and 86. The flashy player your son wants was who Buffalo got when tjey traded 22 for Diggs. -

I will be shocked if he isnt starting at LE by October. -
Beane, please go get Clowney
Mat68 replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With the money he wants you have to wait til travel restrictions are lessend. You need to check out his knee. Does he got 1 year? 2 year? 3 years left on it? Or are you going to pay him a boatload of guaranteed money and he is Gourley. -
I really enjoy how I can come into a thread thinking camp foder. After some nuggets and videos leave thinking Buffalo has drafted the next great Wr. I think he is what they wanted out of Williams but with more short area quickness. The 2 wrs brought in will put some pressure on Foster, Williams, and Mckenzie.

Have him play around 260 to 265. His forty is the only blemish. He was extremly productive. He abused multiple OTs that were drafted. This pick is a home run. -
RD 2, Pick 54: DE AJ Epenesa, University of Iowa
Mat68 replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was the best player available. Edge rusher is a premium position. There would have been no issue drafting him at 22. Getting a guy who can f the play up is a hole on the team. He could be Cam Jordan or Micheal Bennet. Its a steal at 54. Dobbins? Mimms? They can get a guy in rd 3 not to far off from either. Cant say that at De. -

The starting Des are over 30. He is 21. In a powet 5 conferance he flashed the ability to dominate. -

If he runs 4.8 he is a top 20 pick. I think it was a no brainer. -

First rd talent. The teams largest need was edge. He is a better pass rusher than Lawson. -
