His father was a pro pitcher. His natural ability is unreal. I would argue there has never been a better landing spot for a rookie qb to enter the league into. The convergance of all these factors have made a perfect storm.
-
If he is there at 30 I would do it. Take the best guy. If its a wr, olineman, dlineman, db, rb whoever. Any position other than Qb is on the table imo.
-
Imo its like a boxer facing Tyson. He is coming and he throwing bombs. Frustrate him and take his shots be folded. Same thing with Kc. I do think Buffalo needs more on the d line though.

This. When Buffalo went agressive the defense played better. Playing bend but dont break plays into the the opposing teams hand. Atleast the ones without Mahomes. To be more agressive they need a better CB to go with Tre and Johnson. To a point this offseason needs t9 have 1 goal in mind. Bridge the gap to KC. For 25 years it was to win the division. Now its beat KC. How Beane and Mcdermott feel they accomplish thats where they need to go.

The game was over when Allen was picked and it became a 3 score game. That was after both Fgs. The offense didnt do enough to win. The d was a mess but its the Chiefs it happens.

Its a feel to a point. Analytics to a degree got Indy beat. Questioning Mcdermotts decision on those 4th downs I surely did. Now a week later I think Buffalo gets stoppped. Idk if Daboll was f'ed from missing out on being a Head coach or what. He had 0 feel for what KC did all game. I dont think he has 2 special plays left in the Ether B/C we didnt go for those 2 plays. Mcdermott was trying to keep fingertips on the game imo. Hoping the offense would get hot. It didnt happen.

1.1 mil doesnt change who Buffalo drafts or signs. Keep him. He is more than servicable. Both back average above 4 ypc. They dont get more than whats available. Lesean McCoy, the guy that got us to the playoffs and played with Rex gets over 1,000 yards last year probably finishes top 3. Im not saying change anything with offense. Pass more than run. A more dynamic runner gets more yards. For every run they got 1 or 2 more yards they didnt have the gear to get the 20 to 30 yarder that was there. Thats why Kenneth Davis wasnt a starter. Davis gets you 4 to 8 yards. Those plays Thurman gets you 20 40.

Should NFL Adopt 3rd Place Game Week Before Super Bowl?
Mat68 replied to Dr.Sack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But 1 on the weekend the probowl is on. That game is trash. Pay each player and coach 500k that wins and grant the winning team the first overall pick. Players will want the money. Some may not play. Most will. Come on. Today you have Saleh and Myer on the field or in the box with there new owners. Crazy game. -
Should NFL Adopt 3rd Place Game Week Before Super Bowl?
Mat68 replied to Dr.Sack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. I feel this way about the NBA and now NFL. I dont believe the NFLPA would approve it, but the week before the Finals in the NBA and week before the Superbowl the 2 worst teams play the winner get the top pick. New coaches coach, players on a bad team get a soild amount of pub they dont get. Maybe helps FA or a way to flash for the new coaching staff. Pay em what guys make in the probowl. Winning team makes more than losing team. Coaches included. This does away with the probowl game. The pro bowlers are all honored before the game. The 2 superbowl teams are honored at half time. This year Jets vs Jaguars for Lawerance. Heck Meyer on the sidelines or in the box with Kahn? Pay the coaches ike the players. Could be 2 lame duck coaches. Would be wild. -
RD 2, Pick 54: DE AJ Epenesa, University of Iowa
Mat68 replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So they asked him to come in light. He came in around 260. He came in lighter than even they wanted. If he can come in next year in the mid 270's he will a very good player. He flashed a bit. Under a regular offseason he wouldnt have gotten as light as he got. Knowing where he needs to be I expect no issue. -
Beane says no "blockbuster" moves. Do you believe him?
Mat68 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Diggs level? No. Someone we may not think will come to Buffalo or a player we feel isnt getting targeted? Buffalo needs dudes. Days 1 and 2 if the draft they need to find them. -
Sign Mango and put him at Center. Speed at rb. I like the idea of Hines if he gets away from Indy. I think a speed guy and Moss at back. Singletary dresses or doesnt. Overall, Buffalo doesnt need to run more. Just more effective when they do. I think Buffalo brings in a guy to be the lead guy. Im curious where they go.
-
I didnt read it myself or see it. I heard on a podcast that still this year Singeltary and Moss were still very high in the nfl at missed tackle rate. I understand that is translatable from college to NFL. Seems like a true thing. Imo they are both a step slow from getting 20 but get 6 or 7. Imo thats where the time matters. Both similar guys in speed. With defense predicated on nickel i feel sub 4.6 is a requirement as a major contributor at rb. Unless your a massive human and can bully guys thats a differant element. Even Henry and Dillon are sub 4.6

This year is shot to the brow of the Patriot way. Also, the establishment mindset in the NFL. Arians is the complete opposite of NE, and traditional NFL thought. He wasnt coach material with the ways he carried himself for much of his career. The NFL is about dudes. Yes, smart coaches with managment and coaches working together is needed. You win by having the best players and the best humans at chuking the pigskin. Chris Simms is a hardcore football guy. Played a game with a punctured spleen. His first year out of fooball went to be a coach in NE and said "Nope", after the year. Hes brought uo how other coaches laugh at his experiance and it doesnt need to be that way. They feel thats what make them better. No guys it was the GOAT at qb. I understand both converging made it a rediculous run. Subtract the GOAT from the equation lets see what happens going forward with that same mindset and player treatment. Imo much of the NFL sees NE as football hell. Without the great players playing for less I dont see it working in 2021 and beyond.

With Allen the benefit of now vs 2 years from now. You pick up the 5th year option and extend 4,5,6, 7 years. Next year and the 5th year you picked up cap hit is the same. Its really a 6,7,8,9 year total deal. The reason the player does it? The guaranteed money, a large % is given upfront. Money paid to a player as signing bonus can be spread to any year of the contract as the cap hit. With brown you would be spreading the hit out further down the line. The question Buffalo has to ask themselves. Is he on the back 9? And where. Smaller fast guys age quick. Lower leg injuries steals their only weapon. Possesion style plays vs coverage imo he struggles with. Without seperation he disapears very quickly. In the following years is he going to be better than this year. Your just stealing from the future cap. With Allen I dont think thats a good idea. In 3 years the Qb hit is coming. I think Buffalo has a number with Milano. Also, he was a late pick. I like Mcdermott with bakers. Imo i put money on offense and realy on Mcdermott for the defense. He can put a solid group together. Duck tape in some mid level vets and I think he can make a scappy unit.

Since Watson wants out of Houston, could Watt be far behind?
Mat68 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hes getting cut no need to trade for him. It comes down to money. I expect some poorly run franchise to pay him like its 2011. -

Running game, te and speed is going to be the concentration this offseason.
