That clip is vintage Miller. You could show that clip and blur the uniforms - and I'd still know it was him. He has the burst around the edge, and then the relentless pursuit exemplified by that leap at the end. This season is going to be so much fun.

Beane is playing that weird chess game that Spock used to play while everyone else is playing tic tac toe.

I just read (and it's probably been posted on this thread) that a big part of his decision was wanting to play w/ Allen. I could get very used to that kind of story.

Our defense is going to be amazing. The #1 ranking - as we kind of know - was a mirage last year. This year, it will be the truth. We're going to absolutely destroy teams. I hope they never let up - and on the Patriots in particular. I hope we put a 40 burger on that team both times (and there won't be a 3rd, because they ain't getting a WC w/ how stacked the AFCW is).

You almost can't characterize Beane. He doesn't have a "single style" in building a contender. If he needs to just sign a bunch of solid guys without any big splash, that's what he does. If the team NEEDS a splash, he does a Diggs or a Miller. We've got a good one - a very good one. The drought was as tough an experience as most fans have had in sports - but it has paid off. We have the owner, GM, coach and QB to dominate for a long, long time.

Howard is going to become the star in Buffalo that everyone thought he'd be. The Bills are completely stacked.

He's one of the best pass rushers of the last 20 years, and is still playing at a high level. You might be missing that part.

Reggie White played a long time, too. Miller could be good for years. I'm seeing opposing fans rationalize this by trying to ridicule paying so much to an "old" player - but with our other additions to the line, EVERYONE on D is better today. Our defense will be a terror - a true #1 D in the league.

It's not like Chandler Jones would be our 2022 Bruce Smith. He's a nice player, but that's too much money. We need more of a pass rush, but there are a few other ways to get there.

I mean, clearly, we couldn't have afforded him. There is still a cap in place.

Same ol' was a bummer a few years ago. But if they're trotting back the same team that was probably 13 seconds from a SB this past season, it's not so bad.

That's actually more of a good thing for the Bills. That division is going to be a dogfight, and it should give Buffalo a good opportunity to secure the best record - or at least a better record than KC or any of the AFCW teams. In many ways, we have the easiest division now.

This day just isn't working out for me so far. But it's early.

So who's next? Do they go w/ the draft, try to trade for Barkley, maybe get Fournette?

I hope he has a nice couch picked out to watch the Bills hoist the trophy next year....

I'm pleasantly surprised. I didn't expect us to be much of a player in the 1st week of FA - and while we haven't made splashy moves, all of the acquisitions add talent to the team, at positions of need. I like Beane's approach. It's fun to get the expensive "impact player," and I'd love that too - but then it's all for naught if that guy gets hurt, or underperforms. I like a bunch of solid additions that improve the team as a whole, and improve depth.

I'm really happy for Zay - and he has really emerged as a solid receiver. This is an overpay, but that's what FA is about.

This is a solid pick-up, and it's one less thing we have to address in the draft now. This is an excellent offseason so far - I wasn't expecting this much activity from the Bills, and they're really filling needs with good players.

On their board, Pats fans are talking about this like it was a smackdown for Judon, and just shows how "bitter" and obsessed Bills fans are.

I think they're counting on leaps from both Rousseau & Epenesa, and even Oliver to an extent. All younger guys, all big investments via the draft. With Rousseau, he was thisclose to getting Mahomes about 3-4 times in the KC game, but always just missed. Those are the plays he needs to start making.

Which our braintrust has done, emphatically. It's not a formula. You build one of the best teams, you win games, you get a high seed in the playoffs - then you hope for a little luck. Because getting through the playoffs & getting the prize usually relies on that. Beane & his staff have done an outstanding job turning this team into one of the top contenders.

This is such a Beane signing - he loves underrated w/ upside. I think we're going to love this guy.

That's great. I love watching the Pats now, in season and in the offseason. They just re-signed a bunch of old dudes, tried spending their way to contention last year, and are probably going to be in the neverending cycle of trying to find a QB, also. It's very satisfying.
