The Buffalo Bills are the best team in the NFL
Success replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
"Best team" doesn't really matter. I tried to note that. A lot of "best teams" didn't end up winning the trophy. But, it's still cool to have the best team right now. -

It's not a homer statement, though. Before the Hill trade, I would have said KC. What other team is at the Bills' level? I can say KC, Cincy, Denver, the Bucs, the Rams - but no one is quite as good. We would be favored in all of those games. -

Well, we've only had the best team for a few weeks. So, there's that. -

I'm a Levi Wallace fan - but I'd wager that whichever draft pick we replace him w/ will be better, and we have Tre coming back at some point. Dane Jackson & Johnson are not slouches, and Hyde/Poyer is considered to be one of the best safety tandems in the league. Even w/ Allen, I think I'm most excited to watch our D in the upcoming season. It's going to be smothering, and very hard to score against. -
I just wanted to write this, after 20 years of being nothing. It took drafting the best QB of his class, in the most hyped class in years, and a GM to put the pieces in place around him. I don't think it's disputable, nor do I think it's a slam dunk verdict. But on paper, the Bills are the best team in the league right now. The best offense, and a TRUE #1 defense - not the flimsy kind of #1 we had last year. Obviously, the pressure is on now. Being the best on paper isn't something that goes down in the history books. They have to cash in w/ the Lombardi. But we are the best. I just wanted to take a moment to say it & appreciate it. We can beat anyone.

He isn't. But he kind of is.

I vote either: last season of "Game of Thrones," or trying to decide between wings or a garbage plate.

Brady tried to engineer his way to Miami: TAMPERING!
Success replied to Zerovoltz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Frankly, I'd rather play him in the playoffs than in the SB. The SB just ain't fair w/ that guy anymore. Most of the QB's in the AFC will be in their 1st one, or maybe 2nd. Brady has 10...or is it 11? Either way, the experience factor is ridiculous. -
My ultimate Bills fantasy has always been to get those 4 SB's back & add one, so we'd have a 5-4 record in the big game. Allen might get more than that, though.

Beane should kick the tires on Stephon Gilmore
Success replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
I didn't care about the draft day thing. I thought he took plays off, especially once the seasons wore on & we weren't in the playoff picture. -
I mean, I hate to say it - because on paper, I don't think there is much question we're the best team in the league. That comes w/ a big target. I probably would have preferred a SB run to be more stealth and as the talented underdog. But that's out now. Oh, well. It's not really something to complain about.

In a non-related note, the Pats actually picked a good time to be bad. If the AFC had been like this when they were on top, they'd probably have half the # of titles...

This draft is deep & very good at CB. I'd rather see them draft a couple of guys. His attitude was terrible here. Maybe it would be different because we're a contender now, but it just left a bad taste. Not a fan. -
Not a bad ranking in the OP. I think KC will still be in the mix though - I don't see them dropping out of the playoffs, though it will be VERY tough for them to win the division again. Bills should be able to secure the top seed if they can stay healthy. After that, I actually see the Broncos & Bengals as the biggest threats. I agree that the Phins could snag that last spot, depending on the new coach. That's not really a ranking, I realize - just some thoughts.

Tyreek seeking a trade [Now: Traded to the Dolphins]
Success replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed - but I was still jubilant at this news. I feel like we just couldn't stop Hill w/ the skillset he has. We haven't had as much difficulty with any other receivers. -

I can't remember the last trade like this that I thought was a bad move for both teams. It feels like KC gave up a shot to be top contender again this year, especially in that division. And Miami gave away a lot of their future. Has a team ever given up this much for a WR? -
I didn't need this thread headline today.

Man, that is a LOT to give up for a receiver. Shades of the Herschel Walker trade. It helps the Chiefs in the long run, but without Hill, the Bills are now in pole position in the AFC this season. -
Russia's been in the news a lot.

I swear - I honestly thought this would be a really quiet FA for the Bills. When they signed Settle, I was like "there's the splash." Beane really wasn't happy after that KC game.

OT: The sudden existential crisis in New England
Success replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
You're equating the comparison with the results. I'm just looking at the situation - which is the ONLY thing being compared. It's pretty silly to say, "well, BB's defense gave up 60 yards in 16 seconds, almost as bad - but he still won the game!" Again, it came down to a coin toss - the Pats won, the Bills didn't. I really don't care that much. If it makes you feel all jubilant, hang onto it. My thread is about the Pats irrelevancy. Am I allowed to comment on that, on a Bills board? Should I be all, "sssssshhhhh...let's not say anything!" -

Clearly, you didn't understand the discussion. The poster said that the "13 seconds" simply wouldn't have happened under BB. Technically, he's right - it took Mahomes 16 seconds in the AFCCG. If you're hanging your hat on 3 seconds as the big differentiator, more power to you. Doesn't matter. You guys are completely irrelevant now, and are looking at a long stretch of mediocrity at best w/ a QB who probably won't be considered in the top 8-9 in the AFC for years. Enjoy the DVD's, and trolling here.
