I have a bit more fear of Jones exceeding expectations than I let on. I was really hoping that they wouldn't do a Montana/Young thing there. I still don't believe it will be that, but there is a small chance of it. Other teams should have hopped on Jones last year in the draft - he really is pretty decent. Though, it's still hard for me to tell how much of that is Belichick. He made Cassell and Jimmy G. look really good, too.

Does anyone have ANY speculation on what lies ahead? I thought Lalo & Kim's fates were going to be the focus of most of the remaining episodes - but so much got wrapped up right away. I thought that was the best possible outcome for Kim, who I wasn't really "rooting" for anymore. She'll have to live w/ what she did, but she's getting away and hopefully to a more positive life overall. It totally made sense that her leaving is what finally pushed Jimmy over into being 100% Saul, and both actors did an amazing job making that credible. Naturally, we're going to get a good dose of Gene (I think). But that world is one that still has to be fleshed out. It's hard to see how they make it as compelling - but they're wizards, so I shouldn't question that too much.

Good point about the perspective. I remember talking myself into Edwards, Orton, Taylor...even Tuel. I think Dalton is a pretty decent comparison. Jones is a smart QB, but doesn't have the same physicality as most of the elite guys, and can't really improvise once things break down. I see him as a dangerous opponent only as long as BB coaches there. Beyond that, I don't think they'll really contend w/ him.

Anyone ever check the Pats boards? The perception of Jones is radically different from what it is here or anywhere else. I'd say most of their fans think he's going to be elite, and some even agree w/ Schrager that he could be a dark horse for MVP. Regardless, he's pretty decent, and I'm inclined to think both Tua and Wilson will be capable QB's. We aren't going to get the cakewalk of a division that the Pats got for 2 decades - which is kind of a bummer, but also a bit more fun. Barring anything unforeseen, I'd agree w/ most that the division should be ours fairly easily (I don't expect the team to buy into the hype like they did last year, which led to some lapses like the Jags game). Beyond that, I see a lot of close division games deciding the rest of the order. I'd probably pick Miami #2, Pats #3 and Jets #4, but big improvement from the Jets would hardly surprise me.

I Watched SB 28 In Full Last Night, Thoughts & Analysis
Success replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm probably not the only one - but I always felt like if we got that 1st one, we would have won at least 2, if not 3 out of those 4. The only one I'm sure we wouldn't have lost is the 1st against the Cowboys. That team was just too good. But for the Redskins and the 2nd Cowboys game, it was just in their head. I remember one of the players saying before the Redskins SB that they didn't want the Bills to be "like the Broncos." It was all way too psychological at that point. -
I've been saying for awhile that I think Allen could be in the GOAT conversation eventually. And I don't think that's a homer take. I've watched the NFL for a long time and seen most of the greats. He just does stuff that no one else can really do. And he absolutely has the clutch gene to go along w/ all of that crazy talent.

The horror...the horror....

I am - every day. It's June and I'm just loving it already. Most of us have been through quite a bit to get here. There's something to be said for paying those dues and finally having a team like this.

Feeling like Bengals might be "Top Opponent" this year
Success replied to Billsfanatixs's topic in The Stadium Wall
With how the AFC is, it's going to be pretty crucial to get the top seed. Any team that has to play 3 games is going to play 3 very tough teams. Get the bye & then getting the lowest seed in round 2 will increase the chances of making the SB exponentially. The AFFCG is going to be brutal regardless - I could see Cincy or KC in that one (but please let it be the Chiefs, AT Buffalo this time). -
Does this Pats fan make sense? 🤔 I HATE to admit I agree with him.
Success replied to StHustle's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just saw a Pats fan online posting how "mad" he was that the Patriots weren't getting any respect this offseason, and how he couldn't wait to prove the whole league wrong. Yeah....I remember my 1st drought. -

Tyreek Hill says Tua is more accurate than Mahomes
Success replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
They shouldn't even report on player comments like this anymore. Of course a QB's receivers are going to talk him up. Anyone hear any of the Mac Jones hype out of New England this offseason from his teammates? It's always "this guy's the real deal...he's a natural leader...sky's the limit!" Then, they see a pass rush. -

Honestly, this doesn't make sense to me. For starters, they ARE experiencing a drought. The Patriots haven't won a playoff game since 2017. But give me a break. We're fans. Go to ANY Red Sox message board on the internet, and you'll find a dozen comments from their fans (at least) saying how much the Yankees suck. That applies when the Yankees are on top, like they are today, and when they have had miserable losing seasons. It doesn't matter. Because they were under the Yankees thumb for many years, and most fans during that time couldn't wait to flip the script. That's an enjoyable thing - finally punching the bully in the nose, and knowing he ain't gonna bug you for a long, long time. I plan to relish every Patriots struggle from now until the end of days. Of course the ultimate is a Bills SB win and that's the top priority, but I can chew gum & walk at the same time. -

Were Celts fans "punching up" to Draymond Green last night? Guy can't even play anymore. -

I mean, you'd have to be new to fandom to think that we wouldn't revel in owning the Pats now, after so long. 20 years of waiting, for precisely this situation. Where we can beat the snot out of them, and they can't do a thing about it. I brought it up earlier, but 18 years after they buried their Yankees demons so dramatically, the Boston fanbase is STILL obsessed with NY. Give me a break. No self-awareness on this video. -

Sorry - I'm going to rant a lot on this one, because this vid exemplified most of my issues w/ Pats fans. That tweet he read about "let's see you do it for 18 more years and 6 more titles," is the ultimate from a fanbase that won the World Series in 2004 and immediately spent months telling Yankees fans that they were losers for dwelling on the past and always citing the # of titles they have. Pats fans ARE Yankees fans now. An irony that I never stop appreciating. 6 is the new 27. -

And what the heck, OP? "Agreeing with him?" This guy is such a typical New England homer. They're all cartoon characters now. And none of them makes a good point, at anytime, anywhere. -

I cannot stand buffoons like this, who have ZERO self-awareness. He's probably a Red Sox fan, right? Who, even though they've basically owned the Yankees for 18 years, STILL chant "Yankees suck!" at Red Sox games. At Bruins games. At Celtics games. When they're in the World Series and the Yankees have been eliminated. At ultimate frisbee matches. Punch up, dude! Punch up! Not a good look that you're still not over the Yankees, is it? Give Bills fans more than a year or 2. We won't be nearly as psychologically damaged and "down punching" as idiot New England fans 18 years from now. Enjoy the beatdowns against the Bills in the years ahead. Fool. -
I've accepted a lot of bad behavior from players on my various teams, but this would be too much for me. I wouldn't walk away permanently - but I wouldn't pull for them as long as he was on the team.

Some. I check their boards once in awhile, and it's all "Mac is in the best shape of his life! He's going to practice early...and he's the last to leave! He has more zip on the ball!" Reminds me a lot of how we tried to talk ourselves into QB's like Losman, Edwards, Taylor, et al. Man, do I hope we don't punt again against them. In both games.

I'm still a little concerned about the running game. We don't have that goal-line/3rd & short bruiser.
