Our new punter will be (Update pg. 38 - Martin Signed)
Success replied to JMM's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd love the nervous chuckles around the league if the Bills announced that they weren't going to have a punter on the roster this year....- 783 replies

Matt Araiza accused of rape, served with a lawsuit.
Success replied to bill8164's topic in Off the Wall
Not at all. Our justice system still has major flaws & biases - but it is still one of the best in the world. And it sure as HELL is better than a jury of twitter losers. -

For sure. I would never imply that because of Duke Lacrosse, we need to start doubting every accuser. But the truth needs to come out. The definitive verdict against the accused on this one is typical, imo - and shows we learned nothing from the Duke case. People who go immediately to twitter or wherever and post something like "the Bills suck if they don't immediately cut him" don't know anything. It's the kind of knee-jerk we see every single time. We have one of the best justice systems in world history. People need to let it run its course. -

After checking other boards today, I've gotta admit - I do hate how everyone rushes to judgment. It's how America has been since the internet really took off (probably before, too - but it's much more evident now). America has decided that this guy is guilty, without doubt. And that may be true - but man, do we need to let the wheels of justice roll and the truth to come out. I really hate how a jury of twitter addicts decides these things now. It's like Duke Lacrosse never happened. -

You know - it would really scare teams if we just decided to go for it on every 4th down this year. In the end, we'd probably score more, also. Sure, we'd come up short a few times - but more often than not, we'd probably make it. -

Pretty big uproar already. As far as football goes, it's probably best for the Bills to cut ties if this drags on - it's too much of a distraction. If it does turn out to be false or he's innocent, he'll get a job somewhere else. It wouldn't be totally fair that he got cut, but that's the world we kind of live in now, and he'd land on his feet if that was the case. -

I trust Beane, McD, the Pegulas and this whole organization to do the RIGHT thing. That thing has yet to be determined - but I have 100% faith in them. -

He's an exciting player to have - but football is just a game. If it's determined that he's guilty, he should face all & any consequences that come w/ that. Money, fame & value to a sports franchise should have no bearing. -
Happy for him. All I could think about when Punt God nailed that 80+ yarder was Haack on the sidelines thinking of what other teams might need a punter...

Patriots' offense is a disaster per The Athletic's beat reporter
Success replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
It needs time. Mayfield was considered the best of Allen's class after year 1. Mac Jones would have failed miserably on the Bears, Jets or Jags. He was in a perfect situation for a young QB, and they designed the safest possible offense for him. -

My fingernails are gone. That Mets line-up is fierce. Would love a subway series! Best of luck the rest of the way. -
Will the Browns regret it … Mayfield named as starter in Carolina
Success replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's been hurt. I think he's a very good QB - he almost beat KC in the playoffs a few years back. I think he's still going to do really well. I think the Browns already regret it. I feel pretty bad for Browns fans. They were close to making the kind of "transition to contender" progression that we had....but they might be back to square 1 now. -
Keep Haack as Holding Specialist (EDIT: Goodnight Sweet Prince)

That decision would be both odd, and very unlikely. -
OT: Belichick says that Mac's improvement is "dramatic"
Success replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
The ideal would be that he's just good enough for them to stick w/ him for many years - but that he's never good enough to get by the Bills. Some years, NE gets close - but we're an obstacle they can never get by. I'd really enjoy that. -
This is pretty much how I'd like the team to look every game.
-
It's almost silly how much talent this team has. I remember when it was just Moorman and Schoebel.

Pats fans have been talking this way about the guy all offseason. They're worse than I was w/ Tuel. Jones seems like a nice dude, and capable QB - but I have never wanted to see a player fail as much. The hype is ridiculous. "They've got their Montana/Young situation!" "He's already the best QB from that draft!" "Better rookie season than Brady!" Keep an eye on him when he doesn't have a clean pocket. Scouts get paid for a reason. Most pro-ready - lowest ceiling. -

I just didn't get baseball for a LONG time. I was one of those who thought it was just a slow game, with a bunch of unathletic guys spitting. And the season seemed endless - I didn't understand how any single game or series mattered. I moved downstate and lived fairly close to the stadium for awhile, so games were always on TV. My kids started watching, so I'd watch w/ them, and we'd go to the occasional game just for fun. When they won in 2009, I still wasn't really into it - but my kids were over the moon, so I was more happy for them. That got me watching a little more though. I started to understand the game more, and see all of the little nuances that go on. The tense battles between the pitcher & batter; the chess match as the game goes on and managers go to the BP; the absolute beauty of a team playing great defense. By the time they got Judge, I was hooked - and he definitely put it over the top. Like everyone else, I just became a huge fan of his right out of the gate. I never imagined that I'd be as into the sport as I am today. It's not like the Bills, where I have to watch every single game no matter what - but it's close. I end up watching most of the games, from the start of April on. I'm Bills, Yankees, Knicks - in that order. Only Yankees for the past decade or so, so I've never experienced one of my teams getting a championship. I'm hoping that changes this year...maybe for 2 of my teams, who knows. I have no illusions about the Knicks, though! -

I was a huge Monty fan - and really liked the guy just as a person. The trade was odd, but for me, the jury is out until we see what we have in Bader. As for Montas, I think he has great stuff. I'm hoping a bigger sample size will give fans (including me) more confidence. -
Lots of great ones here! I agree w/ the flushable toilets guy. We take that for granted. I'm also always amazed that people come and take my garbage. I have a family, and there is a ton of it. People taking my garbage every week is awesome. And while I'm at it, Western NY is awesome. Opposing fans always say things like "pity Bills fans for living in such a hole." I love Buffalo, I love Rochester, I love Western NY. God's country.

I'm a recent Yankees fan (last 5 years - didn't understand baseball before that). Pretty rabid about it now - but man, the attitude of fellow Yankees fans can be off-putting. They remind me so much of today's Pats fans. This team has a 9 game lead in the division. It's a long season. No one sprints the whole time. They will be fine. I disagree. His trade deadline this year made 100% sense to me. The Yanks needed a contact hitter, a starter & help in the BP. He got all 3. Would Castillo have been better than Montas? Sure. But there are 31 other teams, and the Reds didn't like our prospects as much. And as far as Monty - he was only in the starting rotation in the playoffs if there were injuries. We need CF more. Bader is one of the best defensive players in the league. -
"Flacco on fire" in Jets camp / Mims requests trade (p.5)
Success replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
Flacco is a bit like Eli, imo. So many forgettable regular seasons. But both had postseason runs where they were amazing, clutch, and looked almost invincible at times. Eli had 2. Flacco's one was just one, but it was one for the ages. He couldn't miss. -
They used to say WE were THEIR farm club. How the ol' turntables.
