  1. I'm inclined to agree with this on a whole. I thought it was a great playoff season. I think maybe this SB lacked any real emotional investment from fans. Nobody really loves or hates either of these teams, except their respective markets. At least everyone loved to hate the patriots, or fawn over Mahomes or had a dozen reasons to be invested in any of the other recent Superbowls past; Most people knew very little of the Bengals outside of Burrows name, and they certainly didn't watch any games during the season. Id question how many fans the Rams have nationally as well. IDK maybe it's just me but this Superbowl lacked something before the game even started. The game wasn't amazing, I felt it lacked all the high drama of the previous weeks.
  2. I know alot of local people that prefer NYC style pizza swear by Zetti's.
  3. I'd say we're somewhere between NYC and Chicago style Pizza. The real margherita pepperoni's that curl up are definitely a Buffalo signature. Buffalo is also known for the original red or sweet sauce base and typically has/had a small crust. Typically they'd bring the toppings out as far as they could, unlike a NYC pizza with a giant crust wheel around the outside of their cardboard. Bocce is king, but I think Picasso's is one of or a spin off of one of the original buffalo pizza's. Again, no shortage of good pies in Buffalo imho.
  4. I find the out of towners that complain about Buffalo pizza typically prefer cardboard with a little sauce smeared around and dusted with cheese. I'd say were somewhere between Chicago deep dish pies and NYC cardboard. Just the way I like it. I like Bocce, but there's really no shortage of Buffalo Pies I like. Contrast that with NY pizza that looks like it could be placed under your tires in snow or mud to get some extra traction.
  5. No dome, Orchard Park, it's happening. Got it. Truth be told, the only thing that ever mattered was what the Pegulas wanted. The don't want to pay for an AT&T luxury dome, or deal with the extra headaches and real estate costs of moving into the city. It's the path of least resistance (and cost). I've always said the Bills moving to Orchard Park, UB building the Amherst Campus, and the silly train to no where were all terrible ideas. We'd have 30k+ people downtown everyday for school, we'd still have car and foot traffic and all the economic growth that goes with it. We'd be like a real city... but I digress. The 33 running through the middle of the city or the 190 and Skyway cutting us off from the water leaves something to be desired too... o\ At least the Bills will be here, that much seems certain for now. Go Bills!
  6. How very cliche' "football is a team effort" Yes, of course it is, but within the team they all play a roll, some to better degrees than others. You're either satisfied or feel we can not do better. I am neither. *shrugs*
  7. The team has alot invested in Tremaine obviously. They're giving him every confidence and some would say more than deserved. I think his next contract talks will be more revealing about how they feel about the position. My vote is to move on.
  8. The list of overrated pro bowl players and pro bowl snubs is vast. I'm not sure that makes your case he's either an effective run stopper or pass rusher. We clearly disagree. I'm not hating on the person, just wanting an upgrade or a positional change for him and the team.
  9. What you call terrible most unbiased and unemotional people see as glaringly obvious. Do you see him as an effective run stopper? pass rusher? Please share. I'm not exactly sure what point you're trying to make about his long arms. Because he has long arms, he doesn't have to be a good run stopper... what? Maybe you could elaborate? I'd watch the tape again. It's very hard to make the case that he's a good or even fair run stopper. Or we could be giving an honest assessment of player and a position that we need improvement at. *shrugs*
  10. Plateaued is the word I would use. I think about how dominant we could be if we had a MLB with better run stopping instincts and/or better pass rushing skills. It really just feels like he is soo much better suited to play outside, side to side, in the flat etc. Hell, he could then over run every play (like he does now) and force things back inside. That would be better than the constant whiffs and gaping holes we have up the middle now. 2cents.
  11. Whatever happens with Tremaine it's clear he's not a very good football player. Sure, he's a freak athlete with freakish measurables and all the right intangibles, except the one that he needs more than all of the rest. He has poor football instincts. If you watch his run defense it's mind numbingly bad. If there's a hole to shoot, gap to plug, running back to stop he nearly always makes the wrong call. The amount of times he just runs out of place or out of the way is infuriating. He has poor instincts (in the run game) and/or poor vision on a level that just can not be corrected at or on this stage in his career. Tremaine is not the answer and should not be resigned.
  12. I too still lament the Ronnie Harmon dropped pass, and the super bowl losses and all of it. But this years losses have been particularly bitter for me. IDK, probably just the combination of renewed hope and lofty expectations have made it pretty hard to swallow. I guess it takes me til Wednesday before I can even start to turn the page. I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little more worried about the next page than I was the last.
  13. I was a huge Spielman fan and was soo psyched when we signed him. Some of you old timers may remember him opting to play through his torn pectoral for us. What a warrior! Congrats Chris!
  14. I feel like in Minnesota he was fighting for recognition and attention, respect maybe even. With an aloof QB a run heavy attack and a WR ahead of him, I feel like as good as he is, he was fighting for those opportunities and the teams respect (coaches and QB more than anything). Here, he obviously doesn't have to fight for it and so he's found a his comfort zone. He's clearly the #1 on the team, he has a great relationship with his QB and we're now a pass heavy attack. The team and the fans have embraced him and his coach is a straight shooter. It's easy to see the stark contrast between the two situations and is no wonder why he's gone on to do the things he has. Add a legitimate chance to win one and yeah... night and day. He's clearly a guy that wears his emotions on his sleeve and his teammates rally behind him. I'm happy for him and us. Go Bills!
  15. I'm not going to get into the hypotheticals about stats and draft position etc., but I share your enthusiasm for him. He's off to a pretty good start and seems to be a pretty good fit here. For a "project" guy he's already producing at a premium position on his rookie deal. He seems like a coachable kid with a bright future. I'm a fan. Go Bills!
  16. No thanks. Besides the fact that he's unlikeable, he'll get paid way more than he's worth. I think 2 years (from his mvp season) is a long time in the NFL. Reevis, or Norman, or Shady or any number of guys can attest to how quickly times can change. I'm not saying he's done but given what he'll get paid, his persona and the fact that he's on the other side of his career, I say no thanks.
  17. Welp, Micah is our leading tackler with 17. The rookie lineman has 11 tackles and leads the team in sacks (2). I'm not sure what more you're expecting out of a 1st year player that didn't play last year. I think he's off to a solid start, I like the pick more now than when we drafted him. He's bigger than I thought and a pretty likeable kid. I see good things for him in the future. Go Bills!
  18. There's a ton of good places for pizza but I think if you're looking for an authentic "Buffalo" pizza I think you go with tradition, Bocce or La Nova. Casa, and Franco's and Blasdell and all those other places are great too. I think the Anchor Bar is worth a trip too, the original one on Main St. They still make a great beef on weck and obviously it's where wings began. I'd put Gabriels Gate's wings on par with them as well. They're my favorite wing spots in town. Go Bills!
  19. Jeepers that article and last line gets me fired up! “I want to go all the way. And I’ll do whatever it takes to get there.” Pretty excited to see some more Gabe this year. Go Bills!
  20. You're speaking my language! "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn" err.... I mean Git'r done Beane. Go Bills!
  21. It appears Tom ran himself aground last week * He's like 10 seconds into the vid.
  22. I love it! I remember Mr. Touchdown buying drinks for me and some friends @ Mannequins back in the day. He was sooper nice and engaging back then. Cool story bro!
