  1. The stadium is in Orchard Park, about 15 minutes south of downtown Buffalo. There are hotels in OP and the surrounding areas if you wanna be close to the stadium. Of course there are plenty of places downtown to stay and that's where the nightlife and stuff is at. Chippewa and that whole section. I've actually only hung around out there like twice. I'm a bumpkin raised in Chautauqua county but now living the high life here in Slackawanna. I'm sure others can suggest better places to stay and eat but if you like Puerto Rican food, hit up the Niagara Cafe on Niagara St for the best pastelillos around.
  2. I said in another thread I was surprised he returned after that second shot. I guess the Jets thought a Mike White running at 29% functionality is better than a Joe Flacco at 100%.
  3. An ugly one but a win is a win. Defense was lights out. Almost felt bad for Mike White but...no mercy! Not sure he shoulda been in the game after that second shmackdown he got. I'd imagine a 100% Joe Flacco is a smidge better than a 48% functional Mike White, but I could be wrong. Hope they can get off to better starts in these next four games here. Sputtering like that will bite them in the bung against a better team. It's kind of irritating to see them come out the gate like that and take until nearly the first half was over before they put together a decent drive. I felt like Josh took what they gave him. His ball placement could've been better. If he leads Brown on that early long shot it's a TD. Needed to get it out in front of Knox on that late 3rd down throw...other than that he wasn't getting a whole lot of help with like six or seven drops today. Bah. The OL had a buncha penalties. It's frustrating because it's been those same self inflicted errors that have slowed them down all season. Go slap the stupid fish. Right in their stupid fish faces. Especially Tua Fish and his smug butthole-shaped face.
  4. Good for him if he does but I've always felt like he kinda freezes up in high pressure situations. I also feel like he has a hesitancy to be aggressive and mix things up. I remember in 2020 when the usual strategies weren't really working and it wasn't until McDermott sat down with him that things changed. They started dialing up different pressures and sending the LBs and DBs to blitz here and there, and at least that way they were finally getting some pressure. It's McDermott's defense so if Les does leave then I'm not too worried about his replacement.
  5. During the drought, the Bills were usually out of it by now, or hanging on by a thread and that's when the draft posts would start up. Been kinda nice not to be talking draft so early these last few seasons haha. That said, I haven't looked at the prospects yet at all but I'd say they should maybe think about another WR if the group is real strong again. I'd say OL but I don't think Beane will ever go for an OL in the first round. He's said it many times that OL are the least developed players coming into the league right now because so many of them are on offenses that throw it all the time. And after whiffing on Ford in the second, I dunno, I feel like he might rather address it in free agency. Maybe a linebacker? Really want Edmunds to stay. It'd be a shame to work with and develop the guy these last five years just to see him walk. Safety has to be in consideration in the early rounds. Looks like Hyde will be back but I don't know about Poyer. They like Hamlin but I'm sure they'd like to create some competition there. WR, S, G, LB, RB... something like that.
  6. Ow. It hurts, hurts way down deep in the cockles of mah cold dead heart.
  7. Their scores this year are kinda flukey as well. Four games where they totaled 16 points. Three games with a 9 point score. And two games with 10 points scored. One other game they won with a whopping 11 points scored and then lastly their biggest point total of the season was 23 against Vegas, a game they lost. It's actually pretty astonishing to see how far Russ has fallen. Hackett doesn't help but it's abnormal how rapidly a dude who looked like a HOF'er is one of, if not the worst QB playing right now.
  8. I remember watching his highlights at Wyoming and being pretty amazed at some of the throws he would hit. The completion percentage gave me some pause because the narrative had always been accuracy is rarely improved on. But I was good when the Bills drafted him because I felt like they were at least swinging for the fences on the guy who had the biggest boom potential of any player in that 2018 draft. During his first season I always came back to the word "gamer" to describe him. You could see he had that fire to do whatever it took to win no matter how bad they were down. I figured he'd be the kind of QB where you'd have to live with some miscues and wild throws/plays but the tradeoff would be him hitting on some of those crazy plays and finding a way to hang around in games and give them a chance to pull out a win in the end. He's done such an awesome job in evolving and elevating his game every year, the progression is remarkable.
  9. He's played really well this season. I know many expect him to be making huge plays every time he's out there. He has his flaws but he's steadily improved year to year and is a very consistent presence in that defense. They've brought him along since he was 19, he's been a captain, and he's been the defensive play caller since his rookie year. His size and athleticism are unique and he forces offenses away from targeting the middle of the field quite a bit. He does a lot of good things and the defense is better when he's in. I'd like to see him stick around.
  10. Yeah, it's been said that Tomlin and the Steelers org kept a lid on most of his BS while he was there. Something's been up with the dude for a long time. He has a track record of less than stellar behavior going all the way back to college.
  11. Yeah, Tony G out there on his own planet. Dude said something like they need to let Mac stretch the field because that's what he's best at...I was like, uh...did he watch the same game? Mac is a dinkus.
  12. Take that, Pats, you frickin' weenies. When McCorkle was running around out there I couldn't help but think, "Who the eff is this dude kidding?" He's just...not that kind of QB. I also don't think he's da guy. Process trusted, game won.
  13. I think something else to keep in mind is how often they've shuffled the OL this season. I don't even recall the last time they played their starting five to begin a game. When you go down a starter or two on the OL it can change your game plan drastically. A guy like Dawkins is someone you can generally leave one on one but would it be the same for Quesadillasberry? Now maybe they gotta adjust protection, Motor has to go chip the end, or now they need Knox in line more than out wide, just a couple examples. And not just the OL but nearly every starter on offense has ended up on the injury report and missed some time. That stuff can really make a difference. And they've been dealing with it all season. Despite this, they've been able to win more often than not. I dunno. I have a feeling they've also kept a number of plays and personnel groupings in their back pocket until later in the season. Just seems like they haven't totally shown what they can do and a lot of that falls back on injuries and the other part is likely execution. Just imagine if they head into the playoffs with a nearly 100% starting lineup on both sides of the ball.... The Injury Devil must be exorcised.
  14. Well, if we go by the Nyheim Hines Method of Offensive Involvement here...let's see...carry the one...X equals hamster....solve for Z...ah yes, my calculations are exactly what I expected! John Brown will engage in 0.91 offensive snaps tonight. However he'll take 100% of the special teams snaps. Even over Fishman and Big Chief Rarelypunts...
  15. C'mon Lawrence, live up to that number one overall status lol. He shows flashes but man is he inconsistent. He'll nail a tight window throw and then sail one ten yards over his target on a routine out pattern to the sideline.
  16. Good catch and a nice little push off by Higgins on that TD catch. He's quietly put together a really good year so far. Bengals are a sloppy undisciplined team, IMO. They kinda slog thru a game and then eventually hit on a big play. They kinda look like crap the rest of the time. Even with the retooled OL and more time to throw, lil Joey B still holds the ball too long and eats too many sacks. Titans kinda seem the same way. Sloppy until they hit on that screen to Henry which he fumbled and was lucky to have a teammate recover in the end zone for the TD. I dunno maybe it's just me but I feel like this entire season has had some incredibly sloppy football.
  17. Yep. That terrible, awful, no good top five offense they have. They definitely didn't draft James Cook or Khalil Shakir...didn't sign Jamison Crowder, didn't trade for Nyheim Hines, none of that happened. But a 31 year old diva receiver coming off a shredded knee (second time on the same knee, yeah?) is gonna swing into action ten or twelve games into the season and just go off.
  18. The expectations some people put on the team this season were astronomical and largely unattainable. Gabe is doing...alright. I think the ankle slowed him down more than he'd admit. Hopefully it's all good now. It's a bummer to see him drop a catchable ball once a game, but he's still a young player working his way into a bigger role with the offense. Stats and numbers are only one part of the equation, of course. We have no idea how many times plays have been dialed up for him or whatever. They're still figuring things out on offense as a whole. First year OC with Dorsey, a new OL coach with an OL that has had to constantly shuffle players due to injury. A third year player (Gabe) trying to take that next step. Dawson Knox's involvement has faded a bit because he's the best all around TE on the roster and has been asked to do a lot more than run routes and catch the ball. Throw in an inconsistent run game (which feels like it's working itself out) and a boatload of injuries and yeah, there are gonna be some bumps in the road. 8-3, though. And the losses only came after they shot themselves in the foot and didn't execute like they know they can. But this team is slogging through some hard times and quite honestly it's a bit of a bummer to see so many folks doggin' them for it. What'd you expect? 20-0 with every win by at least 30? Hopefully it all comes together down the stretch here.
