That's right. I didn't go back far enough, Anderson was here in 2012. Came off a 10 sack season in NE in 2011 and then did a whole buncha nuffin with the Bills.
-
Hmm...not sure who that would've been. My mind went to Manny Lawson maybe? He was around in the Rex era but I think he played for the Niners before the Bills.
-
Not sure why but since they picked him I've had this feeling that he could turn into a steal. As others have stated, he gives them a different skill set at edge rusher. They've got the length guys like Groot and Epenesa, and now a length & power guy in Landon Jackson, Hoecht seems like a power rusher, Bosa when healthy can bring a little bit of speed and power. Solomon probably the speediest of the bunch tho and I think they could probably create some pressure packages that he's a part of. It can vary depending on the matchups as well. If they have an opponent with a right tackle who really struggles with speed rushers then yeah maybe he's getting some snaps that week.

They may have been interested in acquiring him at some point but with the resources they put into DB (and the way they seem to be genuinely psyched for all three of Max Hairston, Jordan Hancock, and Dorian Strong) plus bringing back Tre and Dane as the veteran/mentor types with experience in the system, seems like they're set right now. I'm betting Alexander wants a long term deal with plenty guaranteed but given his injury history I'd bet that he ends up somewhere this year on a relatively pricey one-year prove it type of deal. Unless a team out there with plenty of space just wants to gamble on him and be like yeah here's a monster four year deal, please dont break lol.

I don't even think he made the team but RB Joique Bell was someone I thought could've been really good. His college stats/tape were insane but it was a small school so that was probably the knock on him. He did carve out a solid career as a backup in Detroit tho. When I was a kid, Pete Metzalaars was my guy. Just a monster of a man out there. I think we Bills fans probably rate him appropriately but right now in this era I really love me some Khalil Shakir. I call him the Pinball Wizard. Seems like nearly every time he gets the ball he's bouncing off defenders like a pinball, man.

It took me nearly a week to go back and just watch highlights of the AFCCG from this year, and I skip past any KC highlights. I was kickin' rocks for a while after that one. Really believed they were gonna pull it off at the end there. To me, that one has been the worst playoff loss they've had in the Allen Era. I don't think I've ever rewatched a full game, I'll just scroll thru highlights. It's still fun to scroll thru the Denver and Baltimore games. When they win a Super Bowl, I'll probably rewatch that one and go thru the highlights everyday for like a month straight afterwards.

I was about to mention RB Jonathan Williams who was drafted in the fifth round of 2016 and hung on with a few teams as a special teams ace but it appears his last season was '23 with Washington.

PFF's top 32 TE's (Dalton Kincaid at 10!!!!!)
blacklabel replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Based on things said by some teammates, it sounds like the injury was a lot more limiting than what they let on. I think some even said they were quite surprised he was even able to finish the season. I'd assume that impacted game planning to a degree. There may have been certain routes they didn't bother to dial up for him just because he wasn't able to run them as he usually would. They definitely have stuff in the playbook for him and Knox. Second half of the season it seemed like Knox got open on a down field crosser for 25-35 yards like once a game. While it was nice to see Knox getting those looks, it made me wonder if those plays are usually for Kincaid. The dude has talent and yeah I'm just gonna assume the injury really slowed him down this year. Dude set the Bills rookie record for receptions in '23, I don't think he's just gonna fade into oblivion after a bit of a sophomore slump. That said.... I rrrrreally wish he would've caught that ball at the end of the KC game. Yeah it was off target but Josh was lucky to even get that ball to him, dude was running for his life as soon as he got the ball. Bah! -
Who was invited to Josh and Hailee's wedding?
blacklabel replied to Willie West's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was very rudley not invited. And I was wedding-ready too! One of my cousins got married down at Chautauqua Institution on Friday so I already had the monkey suit on. About a three hour round trip, first time the wife and I had a date in forever, lotta fun, late night so of course my four year old was ready to be up and at 'em by 5:30 on Saturday morning. Kid can't roll his rump outta bed at 7 for preschool most days but come the weekends he's suddenly Mr. Early Riser. I still gotta find the guy who convinced me kids were a good idea and kick him in the junk. -
Alec Anderson, who the team apparently loves. Dude gets everyone hyped up. Before he was dressing for every game he was the guy on the sidelines constantly whoopin' it up. I also think Bishop will be fine. Hopefully he's 100% from the injury now, can lock in and just focus on his jorb.
-
You're missing one of the key things they really value in him and that's his intelligence. Dude just knows ball and understands the complexities of McDermott's system. QB of the defense as they say. Sometimes the whole picture gets missed when people question why certain guys get second contracts. For Bernard it's what he brings on the field as well as in the meeting rooms, film sessions and game planning. Smart dude.

Former Bills Where Are They Now. Episode 1: Jeff Tuel
blacklabel replied to RobbRiddick's topic in The Stadium Wall
I haven't watched the show Sirens but I did see the clip where they say eff the Chiefs and that gives the whole series five stars in my book. -
When I was a little kid my brother, cousins, and I would pick our favorite teams based on uniforms lol. One year I really liked the Bengals, orange and black and stripes and all that. The year I decided I liked these silver and black Raiders was the year the Bills obliterated them in the AFC Championship game. Being in a family full of Bills fans meant I was getting a whole lot of caca for it. By halftime I ditched my Raiders gear and said I was a Bills fan now lol. So I got to see the 90s glory years as a kid and then by the time I was one of them grown ups they were just starting their 17-year drought. Watching them since Josh got here has been, to me, more special than those 90s teams. Nothing against them, those were incredible seasons but as a kid I couldn't appreciate it the way I do now.

Malaki Starks wants to pick off Josh Allen most

Optimism leads to hope, hope leads to belief, belief leads to suffering. Pretty sure that Yoda guy said this. I wrote about this on another thread but I try hard not to really believe. I dunno, I guess for me it makes it a little easier when they lose. Last time I really believed was the end of the AFCCG. Three minutes left, down by three, able to go at least tie it if not win it. I was like, "This is it, man. They're gonna knock off these red rat bastids and go to the Super Bowl! This is it, here we go!" And then we all know what happened. I was kickin' rocks for a week. I'm always hopeful. I always want them to win, and there are a number of games I definitely feel like, "Yeah, they should stomp this team" but when I turn that into belief that's when they wind up and slug me right in the junk.

This whole thing reminds me of the first Captain America movie where skinny Steve jumps on the dummy grenade and afterwards Tommy Lee Jones' character says, "He's still skinny." That'll be OP after Kincaid catches a game winning TD this season.

Who’s your defensive surprise of the year?
blacklabel replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'll take a big swing and say we'll be pleasantly surprised when Maxwell Hairston picks off a pass in his first NFL game. -
This is where we're at right now huh. Yeesh.

I saw a weather blurb today that said the last 28 weekends in WNY have had some sort of precipitation somewhere. Barely any dry weekends. The draft in Buffalo would be super cool but the weather definitely wouldn't cooperate for it.
-
Overall, I try to temper my expectations. I'm always hopeful but I try not to let that morph into belief. That's where ya get hurt lol. However.... AFC Championship game... three minutes left... I really believed at that moment. I was like, man, what else can you ask for? Got a shot to take it down the field and at the least tie it but I couldn't shake the feeling of, "They're gonna do it, man. This is it. They're done taking crap from the Chefs! Here we go!" And....nope. Ugh. That one hurt. I was kickin' rocks for the next few days, just totally bummed. So yeah, there's always hope, I hope they win, I want them to win...once I kick over to belief tho, that's when they kick me square in the nards.

Why Landon Jackson is the next MONSTER in the NFL
blacklabel replied to MJS's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it was Dane Brugler on the Athletic draft show who said the Bills could've picked Jackson at the end of the first round and nobody would've batted an eye. There were mocks out there that had him going late first/early second round so yeah, seems like pretty good value to get him in the third. Hope he balls out and gets somewhere between 5 and 900 sacks this season. I like to provide a wide margin. -
What is your favorite totally random Bills game?
blacklabel replied to T.E.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Broccoli Rambo picks off A-A-Ron Rodgers in 2014 to propel the Bills to victory. Shout out Jordy Nelson for dropping that surefire TD later in the game. I pick that one because I randomly ended up at it. A buddy of mine has season tix and couldn't make it that day so he called me like an hour before kickoff like, "hey you wanna go to the game?" Heck yeah, pal. Sat next to some Packers fans and they were actually pretty cool. -
Yeah, that's a bummer, man. I've felt like for a while now that the ol' Walrus just has Sean's number. It just seems like they always have the perfect play dialed up at the perfect time. I also feel like if Benford doesn't go out of the AFCCG it's probably a little different. Lastly, I really wouldn't mind *not* seeing KC in the playoffs haha.
