  1. Any update on Bates? If he can go at center in place of Morse and Ike can slot in on the right then that wouldn't be too shabby. Not ideal but not awful. Nothing against the guy but all I know is when Greg Van Roten is in the game Josh has instant pressure on like every other drop back.
  2. Yeah, I saw this. Kinda interesting. Diggs has 99 receptions this season. The receptions among the rest of the main skill players are really consistent. Knox has 43, Davis has 42, McKenzie has an even 40, and Singletary has 35. Next player with the most receptions is Cook with 18. It's like, obviously Diggs is the clear number one, but the number two on this team is a mix of four different players lol. Before the season, I felt like they were pretty well set at WR. Davis had kind of a slow start but I think he's been picking it up these last few weeks. I want to be a McKenzie fan, but the dude is just so inconsistent. One week he'll go off for 10 catches, 135 yards and a TD, then follow it up with four drops, a fumble and a jet sweep that goes for -8 yards. Knox has had to play a lot more in-line than he usually does but they are getting him more involved late in the season here. Not gonna hold my breath for Beasley or Brown to pop up with a huge game anytime soon. Hopefully with Beasley back in the mix they can run more plays as Josh was saying they've been limited with some stuff because nobody could execute it like Beasley. Diggs is the guy, though. Wonder if they're limiting him a bit just to keep him fresh for the post-season.
  3. Barf lol. The entire Colts organization needs to quit football right now. Disgusting.
  4. I've always felt like he's an overrated bum. Sure, he piles up the stats but it don't mean much if you're not winning consistently. He almost reminds me of ol' Drew Bledsoe at times. Has like next to zero mobility in the pocket and hangs onto it too long at times. Friggin' schmuck.
  5. Vikings playing like hot garbage. Colts are more fired up and taking it to them.
  6. Snow had stopped by about 9a but as of now it's coming down again. Sideways, big fat flakes. I live just off Abbott about 3.5 miles from the stadium. I don't think this kind of wet, heavy snow is a real benefit to anyone. If it keeps up it's likely gonna be a sloppy game where both teams are gonna have to try and run it when they're both offenses that love to air it out. Guess it depends on how clear they can keep the field.
  7. As much as 13 seconds sucked, that was my takeaway from that game. I just remember thinking, "The dude is too good, he's just too good not to bring it home one of these years." I truly believe that. JA just has that "it" factor about him and he's a gamer. He's just gonna find a way.
  8. "Alrighty, we're up by 11 with seven minutes to go, time to shut this offense down and hang on for the win! I want HB dive in every GD play from here on out!"
  9. I would strongly suggest the Take Your Eye Off the Ball books by Pat Kirwan. He breaks things down really well and the books are super informative and not difficult to comprehend.
  10. I don't think he's in any danger of being fired. At times the play calls aren't the greatest but more often than not it's been the offense misfiring with drops, penalities and turnovers. It's frustrating to see those things still happening fairly regularly this far into the season. I wish Ken would get a little more creative but it was said that Daboll's playbook was dense and the terminology was quite a bit. I think they wanted to simplify things a bit more for this season. That said, some of their game plans have seemed a bit odd. The Rams game, for instance, was a well-called game with the quick passes to negate their pass rush. In some games where they've played teams with equal pass rushes they've stuck with their usual plays and haven't switched to the quick throws. And then you see stuff like the Jets being vulnerable over the middle but the Bills only targeted that area four times. It's a weird spot to be in. When Daboll was here and they'd try to change up the offense depending on opponent, people would clamor that they were getting away from their identity and needed to stick to their bread and butter. And now it's kind of in this vice versa space where some are feeling like they're sticking with their main stuff too often and not adjusting to what their opponent is doing. It's a process, and dapgummit, y'all are gonna trust it
  11. Just get open on third down like usual, Bease. The Sneezely Beasley. I do wonder what he has left in the tank. He bailed after what, two or three weeks with ol' Tampa Tom? I also saw it mentioned that the dude replied to a tweet back in November that he was very happy not being in Buffalo so I wonder what changed. Wait, no I don't. They said, here's some money, go catch the pigskin.
  12. The stadium is in Orchard Park, about 15 minutes south of downtown Buffalo. There are hotels in OP and the surrounding areas if you wanna be close to the stadium. Of course there are plenty of places downtown to stay and that's where the nightlife and stuff is at. Chippewa and that whole section. I've actually only hung around out there like twice. I'm a bumpkin raised in Chautauqua county but now living the high life here in Slackawanna. I'm sure others can suggest better places to stay and eat but if you like Puerto Rican food, hit up the Niagara Cafe on Niagara St for the best pastelillos around.
  13. I said in another thread I was surprised he returned after that second shot. I guess the Jets thought a Mike White running at 29% functionality is better than a Joe Flacco at 100%.
  14. An ugly one but a win is a win. Defense was lights out. Almost felt bad for Mike White but...no mercy! Not sure he shoulda been in the game after that second shmackdown he got. I'd imagine a 100% Joe Flacco is a smidge better than a 48% functional Mike White, but I could be wrong. Hope they can get off to better starts in these next four games here. Sputtering like that will bite them in the bung against a better team. It's kind of irritating to see them come out the gate like that and take until nearly the first half was over before they put together a decent drive. I felt like Josh took what they gave him. His ball placement could've been better. If he leads Brown on that early long shot it's a TD. Needed to get it out in front of Knox on that late 3rd down throw...other than that he wasn't getting a whole lot of help with like six or seven drops today. Bah. The OL had a buncha penalties. It's frustrating because it's been those same self inflicted errors that have slowed them down all season. Go slap the stupid fish. Right in their stupid fish faces. Especially Tua Fish and his smug butthole-shaped face.
  15. Good for him if he does but I've always felt like he kinda freezes up in high pressure situations. I also feel like he has a hesitancy to be aggressive and mix things up. I remember in 2020 when the usual strategies weren't really working and it wasn't until McDermott sat down with him that things changed. They started dialing up different pressures and sending the LBs and DBs to blitz here and there, and at least that way they were finally getting some pressure. It's McDermott's defense so if Les does leave then I'm not too worried about his replacement.
  16. During the drought, the Bills were usually out of it by now, or hanging on by a thread and that's when the draft posts would start up. Been kinda nice not to be talking draft so early these last few seasons haha. That said, I haven't looked at the prospects yet at all but I'd say they should maybe think about another WR if the group is real strong again. I'd say OL but I don't think Beane will ever go for an OL in the first round. He's said it many times that OL are the least developed players coming into the league right now because so many of them are on offenses that throw it all the time. And after whiffing on Ford in the second, I dunno, I feel like he might rather address it in free agency. Maybe a linebacker? Really want Edmunds to stay. It'd be a shame to work with and develop the guy these last five years just to see him walk. Safety has to be in consideration in the early rounds. Looks like Hyde will be back but I don't know about Poyer. They like Hamlin but I'm sure they'd like to create some competition there. WR, S, G, LB, RB... something like that.
  17. Ow. It hurts, hurts way down deep in the cockles of mah cold dead heart.
  18. Their scores this year are kinda flukey as well. Four games where they totaled 16 points. Three games with a 9 point score. And two games with 10 points scored. One other game they won with a whopping 11 points scored and then lastly their biggest point total of the season was 23 against Vegas, a game they lost. It's actually pretty astonishing to see how far Russ has fallen. Hackett doesn't help but it's abnormal how rapidly a dude who looked like a HOF'er is one of, if not the worst QB playing right now.
  19. I remember watching his highlights at Wyoming and being pretty amazed at some of the throws he would hit. The completion percentage gave me some pause because the narrative had always been accuracy is rarely improved on. But I was good when the Bills drafted him because I felt like they were at least swinging for the fences on the guy who had the biggest boom potential of any player in that 2018 draft. During his first season I always came back to the word "gamer" to describe him. You could see he had that fire to do whatever it took to win no matter how bad they were down. I figured he'd be the kind of QB where you'd have to live with some miscues and wild throws/plays but the tradeoff would be him hitting on some of those crazy plays and finding a way to hang around in games and give them a chance to pull out a win in the end. He's done such an awesome job in evolving and elevating his game every year, the progression is remarkable.
  20. He's played really well this season. I know many expect him to be making huge plays every time he's out there. He has his flaws but he's steadily improved year to year and is a very consistent presence in that defense. They've brought him along since he was 19, he's been a captain, and he's been the defensive play caller since his rookie year. His size and athleticism are unique and he forces offenses away from targeting the middle of the field quite a bit. He does a lot of good things and the defense is better when he's in. I'd like to see him stick around.
  21. Yeah, it's been said that Tomlin and the Steelers org kept a lid on most of his BS while he was there. Something's been up with the dude for a long time. He has a track record of less than stellar behavior going all the way back to college.
  22. Yeah, Tony G out there on his own planet. Dude said something like they need to let Mac stretch the field because that's what he's best at...I was like, uh...did he watch the same game? Mac is a dinkus.
  23. Take that, Pats, you frickin' weenies. When McCorkle was running around out there I couldn't help but think, "Who the eff is this dude kidding?" He's just...not that kind of QB. I also don't think he's da guy. Process trusted, game won.
