  1. Roster is built pretty well IMO. There are always going to be areas that teams have to go light on. Just the name of the game sometimes. Gabe Davis hasn't quite become the guy a lot of us thought he'd be. It's also been evident that they wanted Kumerow more involved on offense but he's been hurt. They signed Crowder, he's been hurt. Shakir has had some moments but they bring the rookies along slowly. They're finally getting Knox going in the pass game more. I just assumed with only Diggs, Davis, McKenzie, and Shakir out there that they'd line up guys like Knox, Cook, and Hines to make up for it. All that said, if the WR class is another solid group maybe they ought dip into that pool within the first two or three rounds. Allen is the only first round offensive player the McBeane Era has ever drafted. Seems like they don't like using their first rounders on anything but a QB, or all three levels of defense. Just how they prioritize I guess.
  2. I read that after the game Wilson was "walking around like he isn't the problem" and more and more teammates are getting irritated with him. I kinda hate how the Bills made him look mediocre so I hope they slap the crap outta them in a few weeks here. Saw some Jets fans lamenting the days of Mark Sanchez. If you look at what they've drafted for first round QBs he's been the best of a bad bunch, but if you rank them it'd be Sanchez, Darnold, earlier this season Joe Flacco who threw two of the worst INTs you'll ever see, Zach 'Weenieface' Wilson. Suffer you stupid Jets, suffer!
  3. Haha this is funny. I know the family, great people. Big on nicknames, another family member goes by Tweet lol.
  4. When they got the ball, I specifically requested "no poopy plays!" Apparently Gabe Davis doesn't listen. Sheesh. I'll try it again. I specifically request the Bills to make zero poopy plays! That oughta do it.
  5. The second half of the Minnesota game showed how important he is in this defense. Only after he went out was Minnesota able to move the ball.
  6. Never been the biggest fan of Murph. He does alright but he doesn't create the excitement and drama like other broadcasters do. And almost anytime he tries to sound excited his voice goes real high then cracks a bunch. I like Eric Wood. I think he's doing a pretty good job. I listen to him post game mostly tho. But usually, I typically watch the games on mute. After years of hearing the talking heads I just can't do it anymore. I can't stand how they have to exaggerate on so many things and act like routine plays or even just decent plays are some sort of amazing act of foosball mastery. And they have their talking points and things they need to highlight and sometimes they just drone on and on about the same crap. Or they come up with some real obscure stat like, "On all days ending in Y and when Josh Allen wears his favorite Spider-Man jammies and eats four bowls of Count Chocula and then spins a football on his left pinky toe he averages exactly 1.0033 yards per pass!" It's just...meh, I think I'm just burned out from it.
  7. I've been such a fan of the guy since he came into the league. Wanted the Bills to draft him, which they said they were going to but in the 4th and then Seattle snagged him in the 3rd. But the more I've learned about the dude this season the more he comes off as really disingenuous. He works incredibly hard to uphold and present a very specific image to everyone in everything he does. The things we've heard out of both Denver and Seattle, in regards to his teammates, is that the dude is just a bit much at times. Some Broncos fan posted a video where he highlighted how it appears some of his teammates aren't really on the same page with him. Russ was trying to get the team pumped for the second half but most guys just kinda jogged right past him and gave a little fist bump on their way into the locker room. It's wild that he's screwing up play calls and audibles when you hear about the wristband stuff lol. Just wear the frickin' thing so you can reference it when needed. It seems like a vanity thing for him. "I have the entire playbook memorized, I don't need the wristband!" Well, you're out there mixing up calls from your old team, maybe ya do need it.
  8. He's had his fair share of picks that have been 100% on him but he's also had a handful of unfortunate ones that got tipped at the line and redirected to a defender, or bounced right out of a receivers hands and to a DB. Schnitt happens. It's the INTs that he's personally giftwrapping for opponents that make you wanna flip out. I remember the talking heads would always point out how he had zero red zone INTs in his career until he got picked in the AFC Championship in 2021. Then it was "only ever had one red zone INT!" And this season he's done that like four times already. Those turnovers really kill the momentum they build as well. I think Josh might be feeling the weight of expectations more then anyone right now. He already expects a lot from himself and although he does his best not to pay too much attention to it there's no way he hasn't heard the chatter about him being the MVP favorite and the Bills being a Super Bowl favorite. Isaiah McKenzie talked a bit about the pressure they're feeling on his weekly podcast with Ty Dunne. He basically said they are really meticulous with meetings and practices but when you get out there with 63,000 people cheering for you, it's just really easy to get super amped and just wanna make a play. And in Josh's case he's probably feeling like he needs to make a play. A lot of the time it works in his favor. The times it hasn't just seem to really sting. He'll be alright.
  9. I'm a new dad (first son will be two in Jan, his baby brudder is six months. I dunno whose idea it was to have two babies during a pandemic but when I find that guy I'm gonna kick his @$$) so I'm thankful for them being healthy and happy. Mom and dad are tired. In fact, I'm pretty sure I died a few weeks ago and nobody's had the common gotdamn courtesy to let me know! So yeah I'm thankful for them, the wife, and that dreamboat Josh Allen. There goes mah hero!
  10. Yeah, their tendency to slowly bring along rookies and new signings can get irritating. There are only so many plays to be run, it's more just about knowing the terminology and the checks and stuff. But even with that, I mean, dude been playing football his whole life, surely he can look at the playbook and see plays he ran in Indy just under different names here.
  11. I've been saying for a while, the dude is just a steady player. Might not always have the big splash plays but he does so much that goes under the radar. Minnesota scored 10 points in the first half and then all their other drives were three and out or a turnover. Soon as Edmunds went out, Minnesota had no problem. I think he's a guy you keep. He's the main defensive captain, his size and athleticism causes issues in the middle of the field for opposing offense. He has his flaws, he's not perfect, but you could do way worse. I'd like to see him and Milano remain together. They're a different defense when either of those guys go out.
  12. If he gets the boot after this season I can't see any team that'd wanna give him another chance at head coach. He's shown he doesn't have the chops for it.
  13. Good post. I think the hate on the coaches is a bit much sometimes. They aren't going to nail it on every call or decision, no coach does. For all the talented coaches mentioned here, they all have their flaws. Some don't manage the clock well, others run undisciplined squads that get penalized a lot, etc. Nobody's perfect. When I see people saying they need a wholesale change at all major coaching positions I just SMH. It's as if they've forgotten the reason the Bills are in this position is because of the work done by McDermott and his staff. He's the first coach to have sustained success since Wade Phillips and after one flukey loss people wanna throw 'em to the curb. There's always room for improvement and they're always working to get better. The dude has created a culture in Buffalo that now entices free agents and prospects to wanna come here. That never used to be the case. Cripes, one of the superstars of the league, a first ballot HOF guy, sought after the Bills in free agency. You know you've built something pretty special when that happens. I think lately they've been feeling the weight of expectations, Josh especially. They'll get it together.
  14. That's what I said when it happened. I don't like when they lose but clearly you can't win them all. Had Minnesota scored on that 4th down instead of what actually happened, I woulda been fine with that. It just would've been, "welp, you had chance to put 'em away and you didn't." Instead we get an insanely rare and convoluted finish to the game featuring a few crazy plays that we're never gonna hear the end of.
  15. I've been saying it since the game ended, Edmunds going out was a major factor. Before that the Vikings scored all of 10 points and had ended the previous few drives going 3 and out plus the one pick by Benford. Soon as Maine went out, bam, Vikings had almost no problem moving the ball. It's tough to keep winning consistently when you're constantly having to shuffle your lineup due to injury. A healthy Edmunds, Poyer, and White are gonna make a big difference. The way in which they lost is the most infuriating thing. Had many opportunities to put it away and didn't. They were monsters in the second half earlier this year now suddenly the second half is killing them. They had a slump last year, they're in a bit of one right now. I'm still confident and optimistic they'll get it right. Now here's where someone will probably give me crap for "mOrAL vIcToRieS" or get on some schnittz about how it's their right to be a hyper critical bag of weenies. It sure is. I'd just rather not dwell in it and complain the entire week.
  16. I said in another thread that the worst part about a loss are the weeks worth of abysmal hot takes from a contingent of fans on this here board. Once again, they lost due to self inflicted mistakes. Losing Edmunds hurt as well. Minnesota scored 10 points and had been going 3 and out for most of the first half. Soon as Edmunds went out, bam, Vikings start moving the ball. At the end of it all, tho, the defense comes thru with the big 4th down stop and then the offense botches the snap and Minnesota gets the lucky break. Even with that, they still go and tie it and had a chance to tie again but Josh forced it. Kid just wants to win, can't blame him for going down swinging. Some of y'all gotta allow room for defeat. Sucks to lose but no team wins them all. And if it's any consolation, Minnesota's model for victory is not sustainable. They had to have so many things break their way to eek outta there with a win. If Edmunds doesn't go out, they win that game. Shake it off. Regroup and go slap the Browns. Good post, OP.
  17. It's the drizzling schnittz again this week. It's one thing to lose but jeebus they gotta go and lose in one of the weirdest, most contrived ways ever. Again, self inflicted bull poopery plus injuries equals bad times. I think you pay Tremaine Edmunds. He does so much under the radar that goes unappreciated. It was a different game without him. I know the big time flash plays aren't always there but he does a lot of good stuff and I think he's worth hanging onto. The worst part of a loss are the weeks worth of awful hot takes. Blech. I think they'll be alright. They seem to end up on the wrong end of a flukey game more often than not, unfortunately. 2020 Arizona game comes to mind. They aren't getting blown out, just too many mistakes and injuries on defense. Story of the season so far. Go beat up stoopid Cleebland. Frickin' turds.
  18. I thought we'd see a little more from Gabe. I wonder if the injury has hampered him all season or what but yeah, hoping he finds a new gear for the second half of the season here. I also hope Knox can kick it up another level. They need to involve him more but right now he's their top blocking TE so he's being kept in line more than he was last season. I saw Shakir and Cook mentioned a lot. I give rookies the benefit of the doubt. Especially on a McDermott let Bills team where they always bring along their rookies slowly. Both of them have had some nice moments and I'm sure there will be more. I do tend to agree a little with those that'd like to see Shakir get a few more snaps over McKenzie. Not sure what's up with him this season but it feels like he's struggling somewhat. Defensively, I really thought Jaquan Johnson would be a little better than he's been. In spot duty previously he had some decent plays, but right now they don't seem to trust him out there. I expect it to be Marlowe and Hamlin if Poyer can't go again and then probably a rotation of Marlow and Hamlin alongside Poyer when he can play. On the flip side, I've been pretty impressed with Hamlin. Oh, I also blame Siran Neal for the loss Sunday. Taron had to sit out a play and wouldn't ya know it, they hit some 35-40 yard pass up the seam right on Neal. Really good special teamer just not a very good secondary player.
  19. I'm all out of faith, dis is how I feels... And at this point, I'd be down for OBJ. He's a bit of a nutsack but if he can go a little bit and they can utilize him in certain ways then go for it. Someone tell Beane I am available to guard any rogue kicking nets from attacking OBJ.
  20. Stuck on the roster nearly every season McDermott has been coach. He’s a McBeane Special, versatile, smart, team first kinda player. Knows the system very well, said to be able to help out a lot of younger/newer guys with learning the scheme. Plays all special teams and only played at safety here and there since Poyer and Hyde had been rather healthy up until this season. I recall Marlowe recovered the fumble caused by Justin Zimmer on Cam Newton when they played the Pats at home in 2020. I also just recently learned they added Zimmer to the practice squad a few weeks ago. I think he left after 2020 with an injury settlement. Can’t recall where or if he played in 2021 and now he’s back. It’s a smart trade for them considering Hyde is out and Poyer is really beat up this year. I would think Hamlin stays out there whether it’s Poyer or Marlowe next to him.
  21. No, no, of course not, Joseph. I want that job to go to Sam Martin. Duh.
