Never thought I’d say this. Sean McDermott is a stupid coach.

Just run the damn route to the marker. Give your wrs a fighting chance and stop expecting them to break multiple tackles. This is as much about common sense as it is football strategy. -
Hot take regarding McDermott and the end of games
LABILLBACKER replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall
McD definitely loves his last second TO's at the worst time. But this characteristic/ trend is hardly new. He's done it since year 1. He needs to trust/teach his Defense what to do in these situations. Not just always swoop in and call a TO so the opposing OC can simply shift out of it. -
The Good, The Bad, The Ugly TNF Bucs edition

The problem of not closing or having a "choking" reputation becomes a true reflection of your coaches. Belichick with Brady would literally cut your tongue out. The great elite coaches go for the kill shot. Sean doesn't want to hurt feelings. Once he has that 10-14 pt lead he crawls into that shell, allowing teams to stick around. -
Fitzpatrick's veiled criticism of Dorsey?
LABILLBACKER replied to The Helmet of's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree....I guess unless we're playing KC, Cincy, Mia or Philly, you can expect a high level of conservative play (as usual) from McD once we get a double digit lead. -
There was nothing comfortable about the last 11 minutes of that game. Bail out penalties. Botched punt spot. Back to back ricochet points. And a hail Mary with guys dropping like bowling pins. Never a doubt 🤪

Would you be for "Eye in the Sky" officiating?

Cool....imperfect results -
Do you think the offense was better yesterday?
LABILLBACKER replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh and the offense was in a zone during the 1st half. But after we got to 24, we definitely took our foot off the pedal. Without those two 4th down bail outs, we should've won 31-10. -
Even if there's a 20% chance getting them back by the start of the playoffs, I'd be ecstatic.

All I know is bodies were falling over each other everywhere. No wonder the ball hit nothing.

He's still working on cleaning up the brain farts. That decision cost them 7 free points.

Week 8, Bucs v. Bills - GAME BALLS
LABILLBACKER replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cam and Siran are really irritating me....whatever they're pay them it's too much. -
Exactly, it just allows the opposing OC to check out of the play. Sean thinks he's micro-managing when in actuality he's helping the other side. So dumb.....
-
No doubt, Josh was already out of the pocket. He definitely should have. He was lucky he wasn't sacked. Some of these play structures are so bad. At least the hurry up 11P helped tremendously last night. And Josh returned to running.
-
I have no problem with this strategy as long as Bass gets the ball high enough. The problem I'm starting to see (especially last night) is how slow our punt coverage is getting down field to the ball. It tool Neal days to finally get to that perfect kick by Martin. Giving Baker an extra 18 yards.

That play call on the interception was bad. You have your entire OL pulling left and you expect Josh to beat the one guy blitzing on the right? He blew up that play before Josh made the bad decision to still throw it. Keep one dame OLineman or TE on the right to protect or at least chip the guy. Hated that call.

First let me say there's no way that game shouldn't have ended 31-10. McDorsey got super conservative and allowed TB to creep back. No jugular at all. We've seen poor Hail Mary defense by us before. The pass rush allowed Baker to heave it. And once that ball is in the air, anything can happen. Thank God it hit the ground before Godwin could see it. We're seeing the same mistakes over and over. Ridiculous late game TO's that benefit the opposing team. Undisciplined stupid penalties all game which is 100% reflection of your coach(s). You McD fanboys can follow him till the bitter end. But our record since 2020 is much more a testament to Josh's athleticism that any brilliant game scheming from McD.

He's a solid WR3 to replace Gabe, but we still desperately need a WR2 to compliment Kincaid. Hoping for a good wr drafted early.

Week 8, Bucs v. Bills - GAME BALLS
LABILLBACKER replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's what I got. Gabe had some nice catches. But going forward it's Diggs, Dalton, Shakir & Gabe in that order. Dawson get well soon but don't hurry back. I love the hurry up 11personnel. -
Yes he looked slow and like he's still only 60%. I see little burst that we saw last year. Keep letting him work back with reps. I'm just praying it doesn't turn into the slow return of Tre last year. He's gotta get to at least 90% by playoffs.
-
On Josh's only INT, I absolutely hated the call. No one chips the blitzer as the entire OL shifts left. So poorly designed like the shotgun draws that still fail. I still can't stand Dorsey.

Why is this team, and staff, so dumb?
LABILLBACKER replied to Bermuda Triangle's topic in The Stadium Wall
Jordan's dumba ss face mask when he's already stopped Baker ranks right up there. So many missed tackles. 2 nice returns by Harty negated by penalties. We should've put this game to bed 31-10. Penalties are 100% on a lack of coaching discipline. That's on McD.
