It has everything to do with it. They don’t win because of those players, they win with their QB. They also can trade away players in their primes and still win due to this. When he’s gone, they’re just another average roster. The comp system isn’t being exploited. You don’t get the picks unless you lose FAs. That’s not exploitation, it’s how the thing is designed to work.
Bills aren’t in a position to get comp picks... or to trade away good players in their prime to get draft picks. When you have a QB that enables you to win with undersized mid to late round WRs , life is good. Can’t really try to copy the operational style of an NFL anomaly.
They felt they needed to. This FO and HC have consistently shown they believe in using picks to move around the board and get very specific players that they like. As Bills fans, this is what we should expect they will do . They weren’t going to draft 10 players only to cut half of them in training camp. If they felt certain they would get the player or that the cost was too rich they’d have stayed put.
Not so fast.... not looking nearly as good right now. Could we be shut out of a run on WRs... with division rivals NE and NYJ getting what we need..
31st ranked passing offense. No thanks to a CB
Darned right it is. We as fans have our convictions on players too. The board would be a very dull place if all we did is agree and applaud the picks as they came in. Why bother !
Agreed. They seem to have addressed the other spots. I hope we get Harry, but I think it will take some moving around by Beane to land him. Loved his production even in a less than perfect circumstance. I’ll definitely look more into Butler , as I’m not that familiar. This will go a long way toward seeing if Allen has what it takes or not.
Good list. My favorite player on it is Harry. My interest is more recent, but I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t end up in a Bills uni, perhaps more than any other player in this draft. A perfect fit imo , and just what Allen needs.
One is an exact science , and one is not. Many in high places get their jobs partly through connections; it’s how the world works. While some regular fans could certainly do well as a GM ( and some regular fans might be heart surgeons) no GM will ever be perfect. Even if you yourself were making the picks- you’d have your hits and your misses. While I often disagree with the picks my teams GM makes , and often have my doubts, my enjoyment isn’t decreased if the players eventually succeed. Nor does it make me glad to be able to say “ I told you so “ if they fail. In the end, I don’t care if I’m right. I only care if the Bills FO ends up being right.
