  1. Or the teams in the weakest divisions. Honestly I don’t care for the byes as it gets very tiresome and boring. Again, that’s today. Saw my Columbus friends at Easter time and they had already mowed their lawns 4 times. Flowers were blooming, and they hit 80 degrees several times already. Weather in BUF is awful and seems to be getting worse. Id guess that CLE is usually better as well.
  2. Sure, but that’s a little more of a fluke. Just down the road a bit in Columbus, it’s been consistently 15-20 degrees above BUF temps, and our highs have been their lows. We’ve had seemingly perpetual cloud cover since Thanksgiving. Just terrible.
  3. There will never be a “ Jerry world” type stadium in BUF.. A four game preseason is definitely not needed. it’s barely a three game one now, as game four is largely the players who are getting cut. The players don’t want to play preseason games , and the league doesn’t want to pay them for playing less than they already do. Of course , more real games =. more $$ in the league coffers.
  4. I disagree. The game is popular because it’s a great game. Fans of the NFL tolerate teams like the Patriots, but we don’t love it. Far from it, and they definitely don’t make the game more popular. Football is unique in that you only have to be the better team that day ( as opposed to a series) and that the home field gives more of an advantage than in other sports.
  5. Crazy that guys are wearing zip up long sleeves to golf in June ! Seems like the weather always sucks for Jimbos tournament , which is nuts considering it’s not in say, April. This is why the draft will never work in Buffalo; you’d have to wait until the 4th of July!
  6. Actually ATL has some of the least expensive concession prices in the league. They just reduced prices by another %10 recently. Not sure about beer, but that hot dog will set you back $1.50. Pretzel bites are $4.50 and some chips and salsa goes for $2.50.
  7. Maybe in Georgia. I’m hoping we can get 75-80 days of decent weather up here. This year has absolutely sucked weather-wise.
  8. True. This stuff really comes down to elective lifestyle choices.
  9. Perhaps the most brain-dead twit ever to hold her elected office. Her quotes are truly unbelievable. Scary stuff....
  10. But it does go into someone else’s pockets. Shares of the Green Bay Packers do not include any equity, pay any dividends or increase in value. It’s a token “ share “ of stock , really. Around 5 million shares of this “ stock” have been sold.
  11. A bottle of wine that costs $10 is often 5 times that price in a restaurant setting, so it’s not that far off. Can’t exepect retail or close to retail pricing in a stadium situation.
  12. The polls don’t surprise me. Lots of whiny upset lefties out there since Trump won the election. Polls are the equivalent of “ online muscles “ in many ways so the responses are predictable. Outrageous responses given out of anger and for shock value. I think your compromise position of 20 is more than fair.
  13. I consider my overall views to be on the libertarian side and am an atheist. I think abortion should remain legal, with restrictions. Not the new deep south restrictions though. Essentially the previous status quo. I confess I am not going to dig further into the issue, as my overall position will not change. I haven’t read what’s in the NY law and probably won’t. I don’t support it , as it is far too extreme. I don’t support the far left on many things, and this is no exception. It appears to be simply a huge F U to the extreme right , but just maybe I’m naive and some folks actually think this change is somehow desirable ? Again , it looks like the work of some extremists that I don’t support anyway so I don’t need to know any more about them. I don’t vote for them anyway.
  14. Yep, the Raiders were legendary partiers and did just fine. The Bills mistakes in Supe 25 were on the field. Primarily, the defense didn’t show up and let the NYG play keepaway. On offense, they should have run the ball more vs DB heavy personnel groupings. The Giants were an elite level team that year on D, and their meeting with the Bills just a month earlier was a low scoring affair. Most would say the Bills should have had that one, especially having the last possession. They wasted time on that drive and needed just another decent gain or two to have it in the bag. Perhaps they could have emerged victorious in one of the other 3 SBs , but they weren’t the superior team in any of those. If they had managed to land Ted Washington in the ‘91 draft it may have been enough to get them a win vs run heavy WAS or DAL teams.
  15. Fair enough. I’m not trying to normalize it, as it’s an extreme and unsupportable position. An outrageous overreaction to a perceived threat ? I don’t know, but I don’t think many ( if any) would actually have this procedure at that stage. Perhaps they are telling who they are. I’m certain they wouldn’t want to negotiate down from the previous status quo, therefore my reasons for the hunch. Obviously your parallel is unsupportable as well. Either way, I don’t support the measure, I don’t like Cuomo and I voted for Trump in 2016 fwiw. I still don’t like ultra right religious conservatives.
  16. The Russians did what ? Not sure about you, but I don’t think Russia had any impact on our Presidential election. That aside, I think most people know some sort of showdown on abortion is happening soon. Both sides are digging in. I’m not in favor of the NY law and think things should have remained status quo. I still see it as Political posturing gone mad. I didn’t see the celebration and don’t care to. As stated , I think both sides wingnuts suck.
  17. The status quo is the compromise position. While the Dems actions are nonsense, it’s still a reaction to the attack from the other side. You can’t negotiate down from the status quo. So they went crazy off the deep end in the other direction. Just my opinion though.
  18. Reasonable ? No , never said it was reasonable. I also didn’t say I support it. I didn’t see his comments, and just about anything Cuomo does is far from reasonable. I’d still guess it was done in anticipation of an assault from the other side.
  19. No, I didn’t see it. Political posturing I’m sure. I’m not for “ late term abortion” or whatever they want to call it. However, six weeks seems too restrictive. It seems all reason goes out the window when these two sides butt heads. I’m not abhorred by it as it just seems like an overreaction to the extremism on the other side. I don’t know for sure, but I’d guess it hardly ever happens. Who waits that long? Most are probably performed far earlier than that. I think it should be legal up to a certain point, which would be much sooner than “late term”. That’s about it. I’m not an expert, but it would seem a very risky procedure at that late stage. Keep it legal, have some kind of ( reasonable) restrictions on it and that’s about it. I don’t expect decency when it comes to wingnuts, be they righties or lefties.
  20. Yep, laws don’t mean much to those who break them. Lefties don’t want to talk about Chicago issues , as that would be “ racist”. In other news, the VA Beach shooter’s pic hasn’t been shown on CNN. Would that be the case if the perp was an “ angry white male” ?
  21. Interesting thought, but I disagree. I think those changes were a pre-emptive strike for what many knew was coming with the stacking of the Supreme Court deck. Abortion is one thing where Repubs can’t stop themselves. Right wing crazies ( at least as bad as the left wing nuts ) have been waiting forever to try to control others personal choices based on religious crap. Freedom of religion is fine, until their overwhelming need for everyone else to buy in takes over. They just can’t help themselves. I can’t stand the vast majority of the lefties nonsense, but I’m an equal opportunity hater of righty stupidity as well.
