  1. Lighten up and have a sense of humor. The world is overly PC already and becoming more so every day due to weak mindedness. That sort of mind rot doesn’t need to permeate this board.
  2. You will not sway someone who is convinced that NEF provides an “ ideal traffic situation” . While a downtown stadium would likely be more congested than OP, it’s most certainly a workable scenario. Just not a perfect one. As we know, this stadium decision is about revenue generation, not traffic.
  3. Right. Notice I mentioned that 60k or so was but a fraction of that total so it would seem perfectly feasible that a similar size crowd could arrive over a period of several hours ( which Bills games tend to feature) then depart at a more compacted pace. And as I stated, fans make it to Foxboro for games regardless of the traffic being less than ideal.
  4. Flip flops are fine, but not fine for every situation or venue. Can work with jeans or shorts. Never, ever with socks. Never.
  5. This thread title is one universal truth that all on the board can agree upon.
  6. I agree. An estimated 500k descended upon a stretch of Delaware avenue at last weekends taste of Buffalo. Seems a hypothetical downtown stadium could handle 60k or so in an afternoon. I’ve heard that leaving Gillette is something akin to the scene after a concert at Darien Lake. Yet folks manage to go.
  7. That’s exactly the problem with these people, but say that and you’re a “ racist”. There’s a reason why a President must be American born. Her sympathies lie with her homeland, rather than the country she claims to love.
  8. I’m certain the B was a mistake, it was $400 million. It may not seem like much, but it was apparently a strong enough deterrent to do it’s intended job. T Pegs paid 1.2 billion for the Bills, so it’s one third of the price paid. Mere mortals may think that would be chump change, but we don’t know how an actual billionaire would think about that situation. Fortunately for Bills fans, it had at least some effect on the bidding process.
  9. Yep. Cherry picking at its finest. Does Marv Levy get credit for great coaching when Kelly was out and Reich stepped in to QB a stacked team ? Of course not. Most of the Brady- less wins came in ‘08 with Cassel guiding a team that went 16-0 in the prior regular season. Garrapolo was a fine backup , but the vaunted B.B. couldn’t defeat the Bills with the shmnuck QB that filled in for him. Belichick is a fine defensive coach ( why he gets so much credit for the offense on this board makes zero sense.), but defense doesn’t matter as much in the current NFL . Certainly not as much as it did in the early part of the Brady run. Just look at Belichicks record as HC prior to Brady. No excuses, just the record. As much as I hate the guy, it’s about 70% + Brady. To say he wouldn’t have been great on the Bills ( or anywhere else) is flat out laughable. The guy is self motivated , and crediting his abilities to any coach is crazy. You can’t make a silk purse from a sows ear. Give a healthy dose of credit for the offense to Josh McDaniels, regardless of his failures as a HC. He schemes up perfect gameplans for that team. This ones pretty easy folks. It’s TB. Superanalyzing the Pats seems to obscure the obvious. What the heck have we all been clamoring for on the board for years on end ? A great QB. Not a coach, a QB. It’s what matters. Now, can we stop with the Pats threads?
  10. All of them if they are not already “ in the program”. The NFL doesn’t test during the season. No no no. Do not add any bye weeks, they are terrible. Yep, and the first one isn’t much better. They can be eliminated and the players would probably push for this.
  11. I believe the part about 16 game eligibility was put in to appease the players. They don’t want to play more games. I don’t like the idea of only 16 game eligibility in an 18 game season, but I think much of this would take care of itself. Lots of starters miss games during the year, so it would be easy to choose which games to “ sit “ them for.
  12. The regular season schedule has been expanded in the past. The records are fine.
  13. No need for extra bye week. It’s purpose is only to add an extra week of games for networks as it is. 18 regular season games accomplishes this. Every game carries risk, even the preseason as we see each and every year.
  14. Damn, I don’t think anything would be worth that. Money, fame, Super Bowl win...
  15. Players receive game checks only after regular season games. The NFL takes over paying players during the playoffs with a set structure per player.
  16. Just get rid of 2 preseason games ( the first and last PS games are currently a jokefest) add 2 regular season games and keep it at one bye per team. Tweak the practice rules for more practice time and scrimmages to evaluate / make cuts. Something in there for the players and the owners.
  17. Interesting concept. Would you eliminate conference distinctions once playoffs are reached ? I’m not sure there is a need any longer for AFC vs NFC Supebowl. I hope not. 18 games is fine, but 2 bye weeks would suck. I recall a season in the 90’s that featured 2 bye weeks and it was brutal.
  18. True. they have been talking about this for a few years already.
  19. Correct. More televised games = more revenue. Bottom line, the quality of the game has decreased since they pretty much did away with practice. The players want to do as little as possible outside of actual games.
  20. Sure, but again the players don’t want to work more.
  21. You put it in the rules. However, that part is just to appease the players, who do not want to play in more games than they do currently. Of course, they wanted almost no practice time, no two-a days, don’t want to play in preseason etc etc.
  22. What has happened is somehow we’ve become a nation where it’s okay, heck even expected behavior to be a bunch of whiny soft-a$$ bit***s. Truly disgusting and getting worse by the day. This hyper political correctness is so out of hand. Bottom line, if you are here illegally you are an illegal. If you are a convicted criminal, you should spend time in jail not be excused because society has “ discriminated against you”. You are either straight, gay or just can’t deal with your gayness; there is nothing else. If you suck at school you either don’t work hard enough or you’re just dumb. If you need a “ support animal” to get through daily life situations you are spineless and should probably off yourself to get out of your misery. The truth should not be taboo.
  23. Ahh, the outlier. The exception to the general rule. Daly has really let himself go and is unable to compete at the highest level currently. Sorry, but he doesn’t prove any point. No more than “ the fridge” does for ballplayers. Think what you want, it doesn’t change the facts.
  24. All athletic feats are not the same. Could a defensive lineman be “ the best” at running marathons ? Probably not. Do you think Tiger Woods works out at the gym. Calling golf a “ skill “ akin to a card trick or “ magic” trick is beyond laughable. If you consistently are out of shape, you won’t be very good at golf, definitely not the best. An athlete is defined as one who is proficient in sports or skilled in exercises sports and games requiring physical strength, agility or stamina. Golf certainly fits in that definition, a card trick or a “ magical” sleight of hand does not. Hockey players tend to be good golfers, as similar talents are required. I wouldn’t want a hockey player to play on the offensive line, however. Many football players back in the day didn’t even work out at the gym, heck Kenny Stabler smoked cigarettes.
