Thanks Nostradamus -
Teams thus far are playing safeties deep to take the long pass away. Should Josh just throw into coverage and risk a puck just to make you happy? The offense has been very productive thus far.

What Would the NFL look like without injuries?

Flag football at best. More likely two hand touch. -
They have to do something. Wilson is killing them.

Russell Wilson makes decisions a rookie QB wouldn’t make. This is the second week in a Ron I’ve seen him throw into triple coverage for a pick. Bring Dart in.

Use some logic. Is there a specific play that will get a given amount of yards every time? Probably not because it would depend on the specific defensive set on a given play. This isn’t the 60’s with the power sweep against basic 4-3 defenses anymore. -
You don’t know how much longer fans will put up with an undefeated team averaging 34 points a game? Just stop.

I don’t understand. You want a play or two that will consistently yield 3-5 yards then bring up tush push that is designed to get a yard? -

So make sure I have this right. The Bills should only count victories against teams you deem worthy of providing competition. And when they do play a team that you deem worthy, they must only beat those teams using offensive strategies that you agree with. If a team is susceptible to the run and we win that way, we should not claim that win because it was not done in the correct manner. One of the QBs Josh is often compared to is Elway. Elway did not win a Lombardi until he had a strong complementary running game. As to your last point I don’t care how many points we score in a playoff game nor how we score them, so long as it is one more point than the opponent. -

Score points? 41, then 30, then 31. Or do we have to score points only in a specifically acceptable way? -

We didn’t attack down the field likely because Brady and Josh saw more effective ways to attack. I think people are too obsessed with “down the field”. Does that mean long bomb type attacks? Because the last time I looked at data in that those kinds of passes accounted for about 1-2% of pass plays. Right now the run and short passing game are working well. When teams try to take that away you’ll see what happens. Right now we have a very effective offense. -

Many of the comments here extend what has been a Bills fan issue for as long as I’ve been a fan (66 years). There has always been a kind of pesssimistic fear about the fortunes of the team. Even when we were doing great in the Super Bowl years there was a Chicken Littleness in the minds of some. We don’t have a passing problem, what we have are two things: an offensive coordinator that has put together a truly balanced offense, and an all-world QB that has matured in his approach to the game. Brady runs what he thinks will work; the last two games defenses have been susceptible to the run so he beat them over the head with it. If and when they are more susceptible to the pass I fully expect us to attack that way. Josh has matured into the type of QB that will take the easy yards vs. try and force the ball downfield. He doesn’t have to worry about force feeding Diggs anymore, and uses the everyone eats philosophy to success. I suspect at the end of week 3 we will be among the top rated offenses in the league. Good for them. -

I find no fault with the overall offensive schemes. Anyone can pick apart a call here and there, but under Brady the offense has found great balance, Josh is being given more freedom to check out of plays, and we are able to attack defenses in a variety of ways. And guys like Palmer and Coleman are showing great value. Keep up the good work!

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW – “How Does It Feel to Have a Quarterback?”
oldmanfan replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
My younger daughter had to work yesterday, and when she got home we debriefed on the game. I told her it actually was kind of boring to watch. And it was, but in a great way. It was really just domination up front on both sides of the ball. As I say all the time, when you get right down to it, football always has been and always will be a physical game, a game decided on whether one team can impose their will physically on the other. And our boys did so decisively yesterday. Glad you and your daughter had such a great time. We are coming up to WNY for the Tampa Bay game; my younger daughter and my older daughter’s husband are big fans but have never seen at game at the Rich, and I told them they had to see one there in the last season. Praying for a little snow to have the complete experience although my wife is quite the opposite! Go Bills!!!
