  1. He’s F-ing Josh Allen. His legs are part of his greatness. I’m amused by hand-wringing ninnies who worry constantly that he might get hurt. They’re like the over protective mommies who are scared their precious babies can’t ride their bicycles without a suit of armor. Josh was probably in the mix more than we’d prefer, but the Bills were setting the tone for 2022 and exorcising the 13 second demons in the process. I believe we’ll see more sliding and running to the sidelines in coming weeks. But when run opportunities present themselves and keep drives alive, I want Josh to be Josh. He’s a big boy. I’d be more concerned for the guy in the secondary. QBs are probably more vulnerable standing prone in the pocket taking a blow from a 300 lb DT. Just hope he’s wearing his elbow pads and pink bicycle helmet when he rides his bike over to his friend’s house.
  2. There was a lot of buzz that the Browns would take Allen with the 2018 first pick. Supposedly their personnel people were unanimous with that choice but were overruled by owner Jimmy Haslam who wanted Mayfield. The stars really did align for the Buffalo Bills that day. Has Beane or anyone with the organization ever publicly stated whether Allen was at the top of their board over Darnold and Mayfield? Truly amazing maneuvering to move into position to draft Allen.
  3. This one is a homecoming in front of an out of control fan base Following a decisive victory over the world champs. Titans may Set a record for most false starts.
  4. It was indeed fortunate and serendipitous that the Bills: A. Picked the right guy B. Denver didn’t trade with Seattle AND didn’t take a QB C. Browns and Jets made very Brownsy and Jetsy choices with Mayfield and Darnold. D. Tampa Bay was a willing trade partner allowing Bills to get to # 7 and ahead of Arizona. It could have gone so differently. Maybe after years of the dark cloud that’s cursed Bills fans, the sun is finally shining on us.
  5. They’re getting it done in a single season and will continue to upgrade in that manner because Beane and McD have created a culture that attracts free agents. The icing on the cake is a QB who is a likeable leader that is rapidly becoming a historical player. Talented players want to join this club and may even sacrifice a greater payday for the opportunity to be on a team that is a legitimate contender to hoist the Lombardi.
  6. Their offense has zero need for the timeouts, so may as well get a preview of what the opposition has planned by seeing how they line up. Then, the Bills can adjust their defensive call or force the other team to go with plan B. the game was already in hand, but they still have their pride and didn’t want the Rams to score. It worked. Bills got the ball back. Victory formation. 21 points differential. unlikely that it could happen, but that can be a tie-breaker come playoff time. (As if…..)
  7. Fantastic news! Prayers and best wishes for and healthy pregnancy for mom and baby. Cheers!
  8. Sean McVay’s record speaks for itself. I have little doubt they’ll remain a contender. They still have great playmakers on both sides of the ball.
  9. Enjoy the lead while we can. Sadly, barring a tie ball game, they’ll have to share that standing with a division rival. 😁
  10. The obvious and well deserved credit is going to Josh, D-line, o-line, etc. But how about a round of applause for the kick coverage units and coach 😊Smiley? Other than the uncharacteristic out of bounds kickoff, I don’t think the Rams ever got past the 25 yard line (did they?). And the Bills punt coverage? Outstanding statistically. Didn’t allow a single return yard 😀
  11. Not concerned. Doesn’t matter to me where in the draft he was taken. The Bills have been great at spotting potential and developing the players. The biggest miss was probably Cody Ford. But there have been far more hits than misses. Elam just needs some coaching to refine his game. Hopefully, seeing Benford steal the starting position will either light Elam’s fire, or tell us he’s easily defeated. If Benford turns out to be a good starter opposite Tre, so be it. I still think the Bills were determined to get a CB early in the last draft, and after the run on corners, Elam was a consolation prize and maybe number 3 or 4 on their draft board. To answer the OP directly- No. After seeing the Bills humiliate the defending champs on their home field, not the least bit concerned.
  12. Such a relief. It would’ve sucked to wait for what seemed like forever since KC only to lose. Bring on the Titans!
  13. My biggest concern is that NBC will break in every 10 minutes for updates on the Queen Elizabeth story. She’s dead, ok? Breaking News….still dead!!
  14. The Bills have an O-line that’s never played together as a unit, a new offensive coordinator, an average CB and a rookie (or 2) covering top tier WRs. And the starters barely played in preseason. I think they’ll start just as they did 2021. They’re being overhyped and have to be brought down to Earth. I think the defending champs have the edge. Would love nothing more than to be wrong. Should be close.
  15. Intimate? I don’t know. I think it’s one of those “hey, I know you. How’s things”? Awkward Small talk at the urinal while being very careful not to glance at the nearby wiener for fear the look could be interpreted as anything more than a curious and innocent comparison.
  16. Reaching very hard to make it relevant to the Bills..... actually interesting trivia if you didn't already know https://buffalonews.com/sports/this-day-in-buffalo-sports-history-cfl-vs-afl/article_248d6c47-46d7-5066-afc0-d7028f82eec1.html
  17. Like most guys who were smitten with music in the 60s, attracted to rock, and modestly talented enough to learn how to play, I was a fan of The Beatles. They were savvy enough to hang it up in '69 when they saw the future coming their way in the form of Zeppelin, Hendrix, and the mega arena performers that The Who and Stones were becoming. Rather than milking it for several more years and going out with a whimper, they preserved their legacy when they recorded Abbey Road as their swan song and went out with a bang. McCartney is a super talent and few singers had the range and power he displayed in heavy rockers. But please Paul, hang it up. I cringe listening to him perform live today. His vocal cords are shot. Sadly, he now sounds like a Beatles tribute album as performed by Grandpa Simpson.
  18. So, I’m thinking that when the cold winter winds come to my house, I’ll just install mesh screens and open the windows. If my wife b!7ches about it, I’ll just show her this thread and say ‘see, told ya. Mesh is where it’s at now baby. 21st century. Catch up, will ya?’ still trying to wrap my head around how mesh can deflect wind better than a solid exterior wall. 🧐
  19. 31-27 Rams over Bills. They are the defending champs. Worried that Stafford and WRs will expose inexperienced CBs. Judging from official Bills videos, the guys have been really relaxed and loose. Maybe too loose. Hoping when they take the field they put on their game faces and dig in hard. If our revamped D-line pressures Stafford and the Bills’ run game continues where it left off last year and they control the clock… Bills 31 Rams 27 In the Bills’ favor…For the most part Josh has been money under the bright lights of prime time over the past 3 years.
  20. I don’t get grown men wearing jerseys to NFL games. Do you go to a Broadway musical dressed like Alexander Hamilton? 😁
  21. Looks like they’re standing at the Highmark Stadium trough.
  22. Paul McGuire. Linebacker and punter, and at 84 he’s still kicking. 😜
  23. Not sure what that has to do with fans in attendance Thursday night. Is SoFi going to have a scene straight out of Michael Jackson’s ‘Bad’ video? Will the Crips and Bloods be warring over which group gets to be home or visitor?
  24. I suspect the loud and proud blue collar Bills mafia will show up in full force while the beautiful people of La-La Land will be on their cells, applying a new coat of make-up, rubbing elbows with movers and shakers, and not paying any attention. Advantage-Bills.
