The only thing that doesn’t make the OP crazy is the rookie salary cap. Even then, the event is very unlikely. First of all the bills would have to have a naturally high draft pick or have an easy path to getting one without giving up much. More importantly, for this to occur there has to be a generational prospect available. I don’t follow college football that closely. But I haven’t heard of any such prospect. If Allen truly bombs out to the point where it is clear by the end of the season that the Bills made a big mistake. They would likely seek out a somewhat if not moreso established free-agent quarterback. It’s going to be interesting!

It’s a fair question from the OP. But make no mistake about it, Tyrod Taylor nearly cost us a playoff berth. To me, this is not even a debatable issue.

One thing seems certain. I’ve been a fan pretty much since day one of the franchise. I can’t remember ever being this excited about a preseason game! I would love to see Josh take it and run with it! We will see.

Not at all true. That “era” isn’t that long ago. Farve and Allen may or may not be similar QB’s but the “different era” argument is bogus. QB’ing is fundamentally the same now as in Farve’s time!

Rosen’s “personality” issues were non-issues as far as the bills are concerned. That had nothing to do with their choice. Think about it, if they felt that he was the best quarterback available to lead them to a Super Bowl they’re going to take him regardless of the “personality” issues. The whole choice was based, simply, and who is positives and potentials they like the best. Rosen is a terrific prospect and may end up being great. The same is true for Allen. They just liked Allen’s positives better. That’s it!

I am sure this is all correctable with a good coaching.

AJ is the wild card in this whole thing. My expectations are low but he could surprise and throw a monkey wrench into the process. An interesting season is coming.

Just read the OP for the first time. Well done! Terrific logical, reasoned and well thought out point by point defense of Allen’s strengths and areas that need improvement! I’m looking forward to watching him develop.

Just one small piece of a very talented pie. You and some others seem to think that Rosen is a slam dunk HOFer. His flaws are well known and documented. Sounds like even the Cardinals wanted Allen but had to settle for a consolation prize. I would have been happy to have Rosen, also. However, we have Allen.His upside is enormous and, as you and I both know, most experts and prognosticators had him as a better prospect. So what are you and the other Allen haters going to do now, root for him to fail?
