Those are some nice photos but it’s not convincing at all in terms of my argument. Posting those photos in no way shape or form proves that one of the “Top four” quarterbacks we’re going to play that well. Your photos don’t prove anything at all! Sorry, nice try but it’s a miss. However I do respect your opinion. And I will say this. If the bills trade up and get one of those quarterbacks and he ends up being great I will be very pleased and I will admit that I was wrong for rendering this opinion. Until then, that’s how I feel. Too risky to blow all of that draft capital on one of these guys. And just to add to my point, remember that we already have a quarterback on the roster who may be that guy. And the bills may believe this. I realize and except that this is all opinion however there is one thing that I will guarantee you: The bills did not bring on AJ to be a “bridge” quarterback. I’ll respond to the OP with a counter challenge: Convince me that the Bills should use up all of their impressive draft capital for one of the top for quarterbacks when there is no compelling reason whatsoever that they are sure things. We are not talking about Manning or Luck here. So many posters on this site think one of the four are sure thing Hall of Famer’s. Not even close! The team is in such a great position right now to both get their quarterback and fill up many needs with top level players. ......So convince me that they should blow all of their draft picks on one of these four very risky propositions.

It’s not drunkenness. It’s out right common sense. None of these top for quarterbacks are sure things. Rosian and Darnold Calm the closest but they are not that close. Personally, I do not get all of the Mayfield love. He is a short system quarterback who played in a conference that didn’t play any defense. He is the biggest risk of all. Not to mention his personality issues. For the bills currently and for their future standing pat where they are is their best tact.

I’ve been a clinical psychologist for nearly 40 years and I have given, at least, over 1000 intelligence test. I’ve never given the Wonderlic because it is used primarily in industrial/organizational psychology. However, Wonderlic scores do correlate highly with more comprehensive IQ testing which is why it is used for personal decisions. So it makes sense that the NFL uses it. It also can be administered in groups which is very efficient. A Score of 20 on the Wonderlic equates to a score of 100 on more comprehensive IQ test like the Wechsler which is average. If Kelly got a score of 15 that would equate to “low average” intelligence which is interesting given his career. My guess is the NFL uses it just as a weeding out device. Although I do wonder how low the score goes before a red flag pops up.

This is the most cogent and sane response I have read scanning various threads since the Jets made the trade. The sky is not falling! I repeat, the sky is not falling! Every one of the “top four” quarterbacks have significant flaws. None of them are a sure thing à la Andrew luck. In particular I really don’t get all of this love for Mayfield. A pure system quarterback out of a conference that doesn’t play defense. I would take Allen over him if it was between those two. But of the bills really feel like they need to get a quarterback in the first round I would be quite content with either Jackson or rude off. I am quite aware of the difference. Apparently we disagree. In my opinion AJ was brought on not as a “bridge“ or any other architectural structure. He was brought on to compete for the starting position and possibly lead this team to a Super Bowl. I am not saying he is a franchise quarterback. However he very well could be. He’s got a terrific skill set and, he has a mug load of intangibles that keeps on running over. It may not happen but I wouldn’t bet against either. Also, when is this inaneNarrative that Taylor was ever a good quarterback going to end!

Sorry but I find the question even ridiculous. Taylor is not a pro starting quarterback. Why haven’t some of you figured that out. No, he did not get us to the playoffs. We made it to the playoffs in spite of him. No one except a few people on this board would ever in 1 million years see Taylor as a franchise quarterback in the NFL. AJ has that distinct possibility. It may not turn out to be the case. But then again it could. Honestly, I just don’t get it!

This is the question, isn’t it? I reviewed some of the responses to this thread and I’m so much apprised of some of the irrationality in some of them. It is most definitely, absolutely possible that the bills will not take a quarterback in the first round. Just because they traded up to number 12 does not 100% for certain mean there and going to get one of the top three or four quarterbacks. Whether you agree with it or not many see AJ as a potential franchise quarterback. I think it’s a distinct possibility that he is. No one knows what the brain trust is really thinking right now. If they think they got their quarterback They can use the 12 pack to get one of the top two linebackers such as Smith who I believe McDermott covets. And, quite frankly, I would be OK with that. However, I would be just fine if they got one of the top quarterbacks also. Just think about it for a moment. If the BillsThink they have their guy then why not use all of the draft picks that they have to fill in the holes both on defense, particularly the linebackers and the offensive line. Not to mention getting a good wide receiver. It could be the team believes that they now have their quarterback of the future and will do different things with their draft picks. At this point we don’t know for sure. However, if they don’t go for a quarterback in the first round I would be OK with that. It’s not a crazy notion at all!

If the bills believed that they got their franchise guy through a trade or through free agency I could absolutely see them trading up to number 12 to take a maximum impact player such as Smith. That thought is not irrational whatsoever. However, like most of you, I think the OP is BS. And I don’t necessarily see Foles as that guy. But then again, he could be.Evaluating quarterbacks he is one weird science!

If we could get AJ for a reasonable price I think it would be a smart move. Even if we do get him I’m assuming that the bills will also trade up and get one of the top tier rookie quarterbacks. This gives the team at least two possibilities for getting a franchise quarterback. AJ may turn out to be what he has been so far, just a back up. Or he may be a franchise guy. It would be great to have him along with Rosen/Darnold/Allen to fight it out. I know most of you don’t agree with this but I would keep Peterman in the picture also. I’m not ready to give up on him. I would also be OK if the bills decided not to move up and let Jackson fall to them at 12. I think his upside may be as good as anyone else’s in the draft. For example, he already has one NFL skill that is, at this time, more advanced than Allen or Darnold - he can read defenses and go through progressions. He keeps his eyes down field even one under pressure and does not panic as opposed to our recently departed quarterback. Only Rosen’s skill set in this area at this time maybe equal or better in my opinion.

I actually believe this is quite possible. They might even look at the linebacker from Virginia Tech at number 12.

However the Luck scenario is certainly plausible. There is one other scenario here. The bills might be angling to get one of the top tier free agent quarterbacks such as Cousins, Foles or maybe even BreesAnd use their draft picks to shore up their linebackers, defensive line and OL. They could get a stud linebacker or D lineman with number 12!

These numbers are interesting however there is no compelling reason whatsoever to believe that they are predictive of success in the NFL. I can pretty much guarantee you that all the people who do this full-time of already factored these numbers in. So it really begs the question, because of these particular “statistics” would you take Jackson over Rosen or Donald if you had the chance? I most certainly would not.

And, he is a western New Yorker. He grew up in the Lewiston area. Then he went to Syracuse.

Given the legitimate expectations we had going in this was a most successful season to say the least! The lion’s share of credit goes to the coaching staff Who got us into the playoffs with smoke and mirrors. Particularly since we never had an NFL quality quarterback this season. It was the right call. Face it, if the situation was reversed every bills fan would be irate that the call got reversed. That play did not cost us the game.

Based on all the evidence available from today and throughout the season it’s not Dennison! It’s Taylor. I would like to see what Dennison could do with a real NFL quarterback. I will bet you anything that he frequently called downfield passing plays and Taylor was to gutless to make the throw. Denison gets a pass. With Alex Smith we win this game. With a lot of other quarterbacks we win this game! If we get a real quarterback for next year and the offense is this bad then, yes, I will say it is Denison. At this point, there is no way anyone can rationally say Denison was the problem with the offense. By the way I know I have some miss spellings of Dennisons name, I am dictating.
