  1. If they sign him they have to cut someone....who???? Has he done tryouts with the Jags or the Saints...QBs who would have known him at Missouri.
  2. Cleveland has shots in week 6 and 7 with games hosting Cincy and at Indy. Their next two I would be stunned if they won at balt and at giants. With New Orleans they had going into this year a difficult schedule because they were playing two top/bottom difficult divisions in AFC West and NFC EAST. Their non common games are against SF and Giants. In their division they have an improved Tampa team. A big factor with them is if they quit on the season. If they quit then they could end up something like 4-12 or 5-11. They are still in this because Atlanta has to play the same opponents. New Orleans still has two games with Atlanta so they can win those two and then pick up a game and they have control of the division.
  3. that is NOT true..... under the newer NFL rules you are allowed the continuation of play to determine if it was a fumble or not. The ball cant be advanced but it can still be rules as a fumble. This happened in the KC-NO game. the KC RB McCluster (I think) after making a catch on an out route landed awkwardly on his are in pain and just dropped the ball. The official had blown the whistle. But reveiw showed it was a fumble. In SF-Min game Harbough got a challenge when he had no time outs left. Calls are very inconsistant.
  4. Depends on the grade of the injury. Since he is a running back and this isnt his primary carrying of the ball he could play sooner because he still run. If this is very minor he could play next week given a cortisone shot if you specially design plays to try and limit shots to the shoulder such as a receiver in screens. He couldnt use the hurt shoulder to try and stiff arm players or blocks.
  5. Actually its smart to pretend you will because they expect you to...so some OL may not be playing full because they expect the time out. In Ot NO did not call a time out against KC
  6. It sounds as if the Redzone will be on the Sports pass...which means its the sports package that is on Comcast. On Comcast you can get NFL Network on high tier stations...you still have to have a box because its in high 100s. Its not at the saem level of an ESPN or NBC SN. The other sports stations and pay per view sports (NHL Center Ice, MLB package, NBA league games, etc) are in the 400s or 600s as a block. I regularly get NHL Center Ice package.
  7. I have heard stories from my Uncle. He has lived in the area for 25+ years. I live in the Seattle area so I ask him if he was interested in doing the game. He said he didnt. He used to regularly go to a niners game but in the last 5 years it seems to have gotten alot worse in the area and the way the fans are. I had said the environment makes the Raiders game look more appealing which isnt saying much. The issue is with the stadium and where it is. He is fine going to a Giants game. He will likely go to aniners game when they move toward San Jose.
  8. I havent had to deal with TW since I dont live locally. My cable is from Comcast and here how it works.... If you have a digital DVR box with the Sports package it should be included with it (they may riase the price slightly). With Comcast I get the higher digital tier of sports networks such as NHL Network, MLB Network, NFL Network, Redzone, as well as other cable sports networks devoted to Tennis, Soccer, College sports. This package would likely also include stations such as the Big 10 network. One of the big issues with NFL Network is that it wanted to be top tier at a similar level as ESPN or Versus (now NBC SN) or FOX Sports. The cable companies fought this and would only put it in a pay extra for cable division. I have not seen any confirmation that this will be different. I will assume it is just like how it is on Comcast and others..paid tier sports channel. The redzone..... This is a dead channel during the week. From 1pm ET-8pm ET (could sign off sooner if all games are done---if a game goes past 9pm they must sign off from the game). There are no blackout restrictions. They jump feeds between CBS and FOX on Sunday afternoon showing drives when they get into scoring areas and if big plays have happened (such as a pickoff, good return, 50 yd pass). Come the 4th quarter they focus just on the one score games. For example last week with the KC game being a blow out they didnt jump to show KC scoring the garbage time TD live...instead they showed the highlight 5-10 minutes later when there was a break in the action. If you cant see the big 4:25 DH game of the week this is a good option to see it. 3 games on national TV....10-12 games on Sunday with usually 7-9 early and 3-5 late. Its a good way to see some close late games. In the late games when there are few and they all are at half or breaks they then reel up and show highlights and post game interviews from other games. They dont show commercials. When you have simultaneous games happening they wil split screen it and show both at once. This week it looks as if Buffalo will air Pittsburgh-Oakland game. If you wanted to watch Houston-Denver you can see some of it (along with the other games) on NFL Network. In the close games they will focus on those over blowouts.
  9. After last years preseason...Easley was viewed as the #2.....
  10. Jets game CJ Spiller fumble call http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-fantasy/0ap1000000060816/Jets-defense-fumble-recovery WR mike Williams f Tampa bay against the giants starting around the 3:00 mark in the video http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap2000000062545/Buccaneers-vs-Giants-highlights These plays should be called the same or not?
  11. I didnt see this posted.... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09/18/vince-young-money-broke-problems_n_1894884.html
  12. Lets look at this from a rational point of view....how can you even regulate it? Instead of kneeling down he takes the snap runs a sweep and then "trips" If you really want to make things happen a better rule change would be under 2 minutes once the play is whistled the clock is stopped (so teams dont need to burn time outs). The onside kick then would be the element of surprise. time outs are for challanges, to talk to the coach, ice the kiccker, or to prevent delay penalties. One rule I do want in place at minimum is the college clock rule where on first downs or after plays are whistled dead the clock temporarily stops until the official signals restart.
  13. San Fran is also undefeated.....2 will fal this week with ATL-SD and PHL-AZ games. My rankings of teams was based on last years performance and their offseason moves. If you look at interleague results the difference in results is based on the bottom teams of the league. Washington will possibly be 7-9. Same Wit St Louis, and Tampa Bay seems to have improved. Minnesota is competitive. On the AFC side you have teams going through a gut job and rebuild (Indy, Miami, cleveland, Jacksonville).
  14. In all honesty its too early to judge that. The only "upset" result was Arizona's win. home twams were 5-3..... The NFC is stronger at the bottom of their divisions than the AFC. the bottom 4 of the NFC...Washington, St Louis, Tampa Bay, and Minnesota are going to be competitive. In the AFC the bottom 4 are Miami, Cleveland, Indy, and Jacksonville where they all are in a rebuilding mode so right now they arent as good as the bottom 4 of the NFC.
  15. I think the team has some plays planned that are specifically designed for certain teams such as the patriots. They aren't going to open up the play book until they need to target a team.
  16. Taking bush, gore, and Lynch were safe picks for RBs. Spiller would have numbers but you wouldn't have taken him high because you can't assume another b would get hurt. In a game ...depending on your systems he is good bet for 50 combined yards and about a td every other game. Now he can get better stats because of Wally Pip injury.
  17. If they lost all they would be 10-6 and still a playoff possibility. It's uitenhage likely the last game host the jets means a playoff spot. They would be 10-5 going into the game.
  18. I think a factor in this will be if the league expands to 17 or 18 games thus having an extra home game every oter year (17) or every year (18). Next year it hosting....AFC North and NFC South so they would be hosting Cincinnati and Baltimore from the North and (I think) Atlanta and Carolina from the South. If they go to two games My feeling it would be one of these two pairs that goes to Toronto. I see more likely 7 games over 5 years with a contingency if the league adopts a 9th home game then 2 games will be played in Toronto. I think what they need to do is have the fans choose of their non division opponents which one are they definitily do not want going to Totonto.
  19. I'm...carry the one.....almost 43. I was born and raised in buffalo and a UB grad. Mved away n 1995 and have lived in the Philly, baltimore, DC markets for a dozen years and now I live in sesttle market..... I've been to quite a few games in my lifetime....some of interest.......see if you remember these games.... 1. First game was the hail Mary game by ferguson against the patriots in the early 80s. I went with my brother and about 15 other people. They wanted to leave when they punted. I wanted to stay..but I lost. When walking outside I here van millers call of the hail marry....ugghhh. 2. 1985 went to the cowboys game where we one one of the only two wins that year. 3. Night football. Game...rams visiting. Flipper Sanderson splits the safety on a long play with under 2 for a td. Kelly drives the team to win on I think it was the final play on a pass to reed. 4. Steelers in town in September...Kelly blows them out. I think the final was something like 51-33... It as a blow out early. Then fights ensued in the 3rd and 4th with drunk fans 5. I was at the first AFC championship game 51-3 over the raiders. I camped out for tickets the prior snday night/Monday morning. 6. I was at Kelly's last game...a playoff loss to the Jags when he got knocked out of the game. I have gone to other games over the years. N the early 90s I split season tickets with someone I knew. I know of a few current season ticket holders. One is my sister-in-laws brother. This year it's a possibility since me and my brother will be back in town that weekend we could try and do the jets game. I am still contemplating traveling to a road game this year....I have an nuclear who is a big niners fan and talked with him on going to that game ( he lives in the bay area), I could go to the game in Phoenix, or I could go to the game in Houston ( I have family there. So if I did I'd likely go with a couple of relatives who are Houston fans). I would have gone to the game in Seattle for certain if it was here this year and would have been if they didn't flip pairings for home/away matchups.
  20. You could always do duffs...either location in mherst or near the airport.
  21. In his prediction he thought a win at NE would happen..... Personally....in looking at their schedule.... The road games at NYJ SF NE HOU would expect to be losses The rest of the road games AZ MIA IND CLE Buffalo should win A key thing in the Arizona game---Buffalo got a schedule break by having them back to back weeks so they should stay someplace out west in between games. Last time playing the West in 2008...NE did back to back both trips out west when playing all 4 west coast teams while the Jets did individual trips. It cost the Jets and benefited the Patriots. Then with their home schedule.... MIA TEN JAX STL SEA KC all should be wins The issue will be with the game hosting NE---they beat them last year. The finale against the JETS it depends greatly on what is at stake and their record. If they have a wild card spot locked up or were out of the playoffs and had nothing wo play for then its possibly a loss....if they do have somethign to playoff such as a playoff spot or division title then they would play to win. what was the tally...24 points off of turnovers plus another 7 due to special teams....you cant win in this league if you do that. If they are perfect at home then they go 12-4....lose one then 11-5...lose two then 10-6.
  22. The higher priority was RB with JAckson out. Remember...Spiller can still play wide out while either Choice or White was in the game. TJ Graham will be active for the game. When Freddie comes back one of the RB will be cut and they will then pull a WR from their PS.
  23. It seems this game came down to a few plays that went against the Bills.... 1. INT return for a TD 2. Spiller fumble. Based on the score at 41-28.....if these two didnt happen it would could been 31-31. Spiller fumble didnt happen Buffalo likely would have gotten at least 3 on the board...and not enough time for the jets to go down and get 3. The pick six subtracts 7 from the board. I do believe had the regular refs been in there you would have seen more holding and other calls to the Jets OL. Fitz timing/placement appeared off on the pick throws. Im old enough to remember the early 90s team (some of you were still in diapers)---they would always have one game that thinks just didnt go right. That happens to just about every team in the league.
