  1. DL 8 LB 7 DB 9 QB 3 RB/FB 5 WR 6 TE 2 OL 9 PS: S OL LB WR QB RB DT CB
  2. Its not 80....its 75 http://www.jetnation.com/2012/08/21/2012-nfl-cut-down-dates-and-roster-size-clarifying-misconceptions/ There are other sources I can link to for this. last year it was set at 80 because of the lockout and shorter preaseason.
  3. I think you are forgetting a QB---Matt Leinart...I wouldve signed him if i knew he was healthy for this season.
  4. Roster needs to move down to 75 on Monday. Who gets cut from Buffalo?? I believe 10 people get cut or go on the IR? Who do you think?
  5. I think he isw the type of player that tends to show up when it matters. Sometimes it hard if you dont know who messed up the play plan....did the receiver not run the routes correctly. Some plays the receiver does one rout if the defense is playing one way and another route if he sees something else....but it depends on if the QB and WR are seeing the same thing.
  6. This forecast is nuts..... Buffalo does have a legitimate shot at 11-5.....they go 5-4 over the first 9 games...then 6-1 to close...... You arent going to have such a top heavy results as espn is forecasting. You have the AFC North, AFC West, NFC-EAST-NFCSouth playing each other With A-N vs N-E and A-W vs N-S...these teams kill each other. Baltimore and pittsburgh have a much harder schedule this year than last year playing the weaker AFC South and NFC West...they lose at least 2 games over the course of their schedule where at best the division winner is only 10-6. With many teams they have them taking unreasonable steps back in results.....like the Rams, Redskins, and Bucs....there is more talent there for those results.
  7. Off my ipad I have the WGR app just like with 97 rock last year and pick up the feed during the regular season.
  8. NFL network will reair the game on Monday afternoon i think at 4pm ET
  9. You really need to include the TEs and RB into this mix. I think they keep 5 WR and 2 TE, 3 RB and 3 wild cards..... Im not sure who has PS eligiability for those not rookies. WR Johson, Graham, Jones, Nelson, the battle is between Roosevelt (strong special teams) and Hagan Brad Smith will officially go under as the third QB even though he also plays WRs I think Dickenson makes the team as a FB/HB/TE and they also keep McIntyre because of special teams. They keep one TE behind Chandler with Caussins on the PuP list. For pratices squad I think they will try to put Easily there...I have seen comflicting info on his eligability because of him being on the IR last year as reported. Legally he cant go on the IR because his heart issue was not injury/NFL related they may have said IR but leagally it was on something else such as a non football injury list. Remember....Smith and Spiller can play in a 4 or 5 WR set as can Dickerson (HB/FB/TE). Them keeping 6 depends on if they value having 5 or 6 cornerbacks on the roster. The 6th slot becomes open for comparison for the last roster spots with other positions. Roosevelt could be cut because there is a good likelihood he could stay local and come back to play after injury instead of pulling from the PS. Same thing with Ruvell Martin. He could be cut but likly not getting anywhere so Buffalo could call him if injuries happen.
  10. Lets use a fair measuring stick....what about other teams 2010 draft? You also cant discount free agents signed from the 2010 draft pool either? Troupe will forever be cast a shadow over no matter what since picked right after him was some local kid...
  11. in all honesty this really is a non-issue....the Bills need just 2 LBs to play....call him whatever you want but Bryron Scott plays quite a bit as a safety/LB or they put in a slot 3rd CB...or they bring in a 5th DL...either way...they only need 2 LBs to play.
  12. NEW YORK (AP) -- Changes NFL owners wanted for injured reserve and the trade deadline have not been approved by the players' union, meaning the old rules probably will stay in place this season. In May, owners voted to tweak IR rules so teams could pick one player to come off injured reserve after Week 8. That player would have to be on the 53-man roster after the final preseason cuts. Currently, once a player goes on IR, he is out for the season. Owners also wanted to move the trade deadline back two weeks. But the collective bargaining agreement says the NFL Players Association must sign off on such changes, and league spokesman Greg Aiello says: "We have no agreement with the union at this time on making these changes." 13. I read elsewhere that his type of injury usually take a yr to recover fully.
  14. Can any of you recall Tom brady playing against a pass rush as scary as Buffalo could be in the AFC East? AFC? NFC?
  15. i agree there will be more balanced sack numbers by the front 4. Getting sacks is a team effort so if they feel they need to double or triple team Willaims then that frees up the other guys who are rushing. Like I said in my previous posts---the number will be higher only if the offense builds multiple scores leads which turns the 4th quarter into pass only so the pass rushers can just ignore running plays and rush the passer.
  16. All it means is in camp it sounds as if he wanted Brad Smith to sit with the QBs a bit to learn that as being a third/emergency QB...now the second half of camp they play him as a WR and special teams. They likely keep Smith and they likely keep Potter. If Potter fails in getting touchbacks with wind of november and december he gets cut then and they pull someone off the practice squad.
  17. Its not a joke..... All jobs that you can have have workmans compensation clauses either governed by the feds or the states that protects employees from getting hurt on the job. i dont know all the details in this case.....but something like this should be governed in the labor contract. Its the reason why you hear about players getting an injury buy out release because its basically giving them workmans comp for their onjury due to their job. Its also the issue behind the long term head injury stuff Its likely Tupa claims he was hurt, the redskins just say he was cut but didnt report the injury thus tupa didnt get compensation for his injury on the job. What kind of work do you guys do??? Imagine if you are injured on te job doing what you are paid to do....
  18. I dot see it happening because he isnt the only one who will get to the QB. One advantage that Bruce Smoth had was playing with the K-gun offense. They would build large leads early like 17+-0 which then makes team go into catch up mode and then go one dimensional. If the Bills dont build large leads in games there wil not be the large sack numbers if the team isnt throwing every down.
  19. Actually Leinhart got a raw deal in Arizona. Im sorry but given the complex defenses out there it take a QB longer than a season to become good. He was actually doing well for his level of experience but he has Kurt Warner on his team. He had a great opportunity last year because Shaub went down. Sanchez is ssstill young as a QB and playing in the pressure cooker of NNYC with Tebow as a backup will be a disaster for him this year. I am willing to bet had he gone to another team not in NYC he would be a good QB. I think you need 4 yrs for a QB to fully develop. As for the Wilson pick....you want to argue the woulda couldah shouldah...have at it....the Bills concerns were more on a WR than a QB in terms of need. Draftting someone 3rd round or higher puts implied pressure on the starting QB. Does he have potential---sure---but you need execution---and that is the difference. many players show these flashes or one year wonders then neve show it again.
  20. I agree...Gabbert after a full training camp has looked alot better. If he seems to be a bust this season then I could see such a deal happening.
  21. I live in the Seattle market so I know a tad more about this than most of you.... Russell Wilson will not start the season. The coach does want to see how he can handle playing against the first team defense before week 4 rest period where many starters appear to sit out. They travel to arizona then host dallas and green bay. a difficult start for them. Flynns experience with pro defenses will benefit. Flynn has played fine in the preseason given the fact that the starting group of WR/TE have been injured and not playing.
  22. Dont complain about that....look at Lindy Ruff....out with an upper/lower body injury.
  23. Thigpen stays on just in case....besides you need a body to get beat up at QB in game 4. Beind a waived/injured release I wonder what the rules are for them being able to go to the PS
  24. Who do you think Buffalo will sign and look at that another teams cuts/releases? Given how this board is concerned about the DT position...would Buffalo sign DT Shawn Smith who was released by Tennessee (who played with KC a few years before) http://espn.go.com/nfl/trainingcamp12/story/_/id/8292290/tennessee-titans-deep-dt-spot-release-veteran-shaun-smith
  25. i disagree... They keep both...Mcintyre is a big special teams player. Dickenson works as an HB/TE role. The teams will likely keep Dickenson plus two TEs...Chandler and another. TE Caussain is on the PuP.
