  1. And if he doesn't "take another big step forward" but instead performs mostly as he did last year, double digit wins and secures a play off birth with two weeks to spare, then what? We release him? Trade a guy who gets to the play offs 2 out of his first 3 years? Do we want him to do better? Of course, I'd say that if he if threw for 60 TD's. I understand that people want him to be Pat Mahomes. But what if he doesn't throw for an arbitrary 300 yards in a game or satisfy the deep yearnings of the parishioners of the church of the Holy Completion Percentage and complete 65% of his passes? What if he just continues to have great plays, head scratching plays, winning drives late in the 4th, double digit wins and play offs?
  2. cannon balls fly, bowling balls stay on the ground...and it was late and I was well in to my alcohol horde by then.
  3. guy is like a bowling ball fired from a cannon, his jersey should have a warning sign: "tackle at your own risk"
  4. Edge guy, maybe a CB or, dare I to hope it, Denzel freaking Mims. I know, I know no need with Claypool and Anthony Golden around later but still...
  5. Disagree. If Knox and Ford don't improve then we have pretty serious holes at RT and TE. Ford especially needs to be much, much better. Knox's highlight film plays don't offset the drops though I am optimistic that his drops are a thing of the past. I also think we need a RB who excels inside the tackles and in short yardage situations. We essentially filled the short yardage role with our QB last year and I don't think that is a good idea in terms of keeping our QB healthy. As for Josh proving he is a franchise QB. I think he already has. He can be better, sure but he more or less carried that offense last year and got us in to the playoffs with two games to spare in only his second year. Seriously, if all he does next year is the same thing, playoffs with two games to spare, are we ditching him and looking for another QB next year? Dumping a QB who gets you to the playoffs 2 out of his first 3 years?
  6. So we can be rude, obnoxious and profane to one another face to face?
  7. Good points but I don't understand what you men about Allen processing quick enough with regard to screens. Those are typically preset plays with only one target from the get go. All he has to process is whether to throw it in the dirt if the target is not available (covered, caught up in the trash, etc) or go for it. The problem with our screens is that they are not disguised well enough. That is due to play design and execution by the OL. The QB plays a small part in the deception but that had nothing to do with processing information quickly. Maybe we need a drama coach to show these guys how to give an Oscar worthy performance.
  8. Does make me wonder. Nate Clements was one of the best in the league and we let him go. Ditto with Antoine Winfield. Now maybe my memory is off and they weren't quite that good but either way, there was no fan uproar about it at all. They both got big bucks when they left, especially Clements. Why wouldn't the same thing happen with Tre? Different owners, different GMs? Hope so.
  9. Sure, Bjornsssssson can lift over a thousand pounds but....what is his completion percentage? Hmmm? Sorry, he's not my franchise Strongman, too inaccurate.
  10. I'd like to announce that at noon tomorrow, I will be breaking an exclusive story of absolutely no relevance or importance to anyone, anywhere in the NFL world. My announcement will contain such a stunning degree of irrelevance that many of you will be shocked into questioning your entire world view.
  11. I give you the right to use it without attribution. In fact, I'd prefer that it not be traceable to me.
  12. I'd rather try to find a diamond in the rough in the 4th or 5th round than wrap my fish in last week's papers. No, I don't know what that metaphor means or why I said it. Blame the absinthe. Is dementia a covid-19 symptom?
  13. Look, I know you're bored, we are all bored. Read a book.

  15. Life these days is not depressing enough, by all means, lets pile on and indulge in this parade of horrors. What's next, a top ten list of super models who have never been in my kitchen? How rich I would be if I bought shares in google 20 years ago instead of the used Blazer I just had to freaking have? Serenity NOW!!!!!!!!
  16. Did they fill that ball with helium?!? Holy freaking Moses that was insane.
  17. If we play a lot of spread, and we do, then you are basically "starting" 4-5 WR's. Besides, with Beasley and Brown, we were like 2nd in the league in dropped passes. I have no issues with doubling down on fixing one of the most glaring weaknesses this team had last year. I especially like the idea of a large catch radius, red zone target type of WR. But, if we don't go with a WR, I guarantee that I won't be pronouncing all who disagree with me to be idiots. Period. Reasonable minds may differ and the draft is one long adventure into uncertainty.
  18. I am old enough at this point to deserve to be crotchety once in awhile so here goes. The problem with this world is that too many people feel that a "gut feeling" is something akin to an honest to goodness fact. And what's more, I am sick and tired of kids who can't play on their own damn lawn. Okay, it felt good to get that out.
  19. So last night, after draining a healthy glass of absinthe, you know, the favored drink of suicidal artists and syphilitic whores, I had a vision. I was surrounded by a dense, emerald green fog that blinded me until a cool breeze gradually pushed the fog further and further away. As the fog receded, I could barely make out the silhouette of two football players. Slowly, the helmeted figures emerged and there he was, Josh Allen, resplendent in his red, white and vibrant blue Bills uniform. But he wasn't alone. Standing next to him was none other than Sam Darnold who though less resplendent than Josh, was also sporting a red, white and vibrant blue Bills uniform. Sam explained that in 2020, the Jets, being the Jets, tanked and then took Lawrence No. 1 in the 2021 draft. Josh insisted that the Bills pick up the recently released Darnold to be his back-up. I asked Josh how we did in 2020 but before he could respond, he started yelling at me to stop drinking so much and to let our barking dog in before the neighbors went crazy. His voice and appearance started changing until he was gone and all that was left was my now irate wife who was not looking at all resplendent.
  20. Alex, I'll take "Let's Speculate Despite Insufficient Data" for $400.
  21. None of us have any idea what the future holds at this point. I love football but with all that is happening, there is so much more to worry about that I have a hard time appreciating football even as a distraction. Bottom line, if things are anything like they are now come September, no one in their right mind would go to a stadium full of people. I hope it doesn't come to that for reasons far more important than football. Strange times.
  22. Mims might not even make it out of the first round.?
