  1. Don Shula, until he had Marino. I would make the argument that if he had been more conservative and had a better running game w Marino they would’ve been more successful and maybe won a SB together. Shula won 2 SBs and an NFL championship as a conservative coach. But never won a ring w Marino winging it all over the field.
  2. In general, I don't think the OP is making a fair or accurate assessment. Sure, the Milano is slow, and the Edmunds sucks posts in the last week are ridiculous. But many more posters, rightfully wrote to sight positives about both players. The doom and gloomers have been in the minority. For the most part when there is criticism, it is usually about specific instances and not calling for the coach or player to be replaced. Criticism is fair and necessary, if you embrace the growth mindset. 10 - 5 is exactly 2/3 positve and 1/3 negative results. I would estimate the 75 - 80% of the posts on this board have been supportive of the Bills this year. So we're ahead of the curve. 3. Well, Allen has a completion % of 53.5% or less in 6 games, and 5 were losses. Only win was against Steelers. He has completion % over 60% in the 9 other games and all were wins. So low completion % has been a significant factor in Bills 5 losses. http://www.nfl.com/player/joshallen/2560955/gamelogs
  4. Their opening day roster was one of the oldest in the league https://www.phillyvoice.com/ranking-nfl-teams-age-after-53-man-cutdowns-2019-edition/ but the core guys you would expect them to build around the next few years are very young
  5. Surprised to see Calvin Johnson left off. I don’t think TO belongs ahead of anyone who made it. He was an amazing route runner and got open all the time. But he dropped a lot of easy catches. Harrison and Largent had much better hands than TO. I don’t have a problem w any of the old guys who made it. All those guys were truly great football players who made a huge impact during their era. Good list overall
  6. I’m talking about travel. The question was If it would be a Saturday or Sunday game.
  7. It matters if you don’t live in Houston
  8. Russ definitely gets a pass. But man did he misjudge McD. I guess after a couple decades of bad coaches, he couldn’t see when a good one came along. It really was apparent even last year that McDermott was doing things the right way.
  9. Virgil good write up and I agree w most of your points. However, the Bills inability to find a solution for the pressure and blitzes was definitely the biggest reason for the L today. Whether you want to blame, O-line, Allen, Daboll or WRs, they had no answer at the end of the game. Allen was getting sacked or throwing up prayers. Yes they were in position to tie the game, but the entire last drive was penalty yards. The O could not hold off the rush to make a play in the passing game
  10. 125 - 1. It doesn’t feel so good when the officiating is not fair does it NE fans. Welcome to the other side Bastards
  11. So good to see 2 calls go against NE. Their fans get to see the other side. just need 200 more and they’ll be even
  12. Thanks for posting. That was one of my favorite games of the Bills SB era. Was at the game but Didn’t remember a lot of the details due to the flask of liquid keeping me warm throughout the game. I did remember Andre breaking free for a couple TDa, but was surprised to see what a big game Lofton had too.
  13. No on Watkins. Percy w Bills is a good comparison. Just like Harvin, he cant stay healthy on the field. The problem isn’t the contract. The problem is wasting a spot on the 53 man roster for a guy who you never know will be ready week to week.
  14. For 2018 if you look, just at the QBs, not full team Stats. - Of the top 8 QBs in passing yards, 5/8 made the playoffs Mahomes, Goff, Luck, Brady, Rivers made it Big Ben, M. Ryan, Rodgers didn't make it, Of the 2018 AFC playoff teams only Baltimore did not have a QB in the top 12 for passing yards.
  15. From Greg Roman's presser this week, he said L Jackson has made huge improvements of his game for year 1 to year 2. He did stress how much work they have done in practicing their ball handling and that it is one of the areas LJ and the team has improved. He also talked about the importance of motion in their offense to create confusion. Between motion, ball fakes, and mis-direction that slight indecision created in opposing Defense, the Ravens have been deadly. I watched video of their games against the Rams and the Texans. Anytime the Rams sent an extra rusher the Baltimore took advantage. The Texans actually did a very good job with 4 pass rushers staying in their lanes and LBs also in good position on most plays. The thing is that Jackson beat them for big plays anyway just with his athleticism, forcing missed tackles, running away from guys, and hitting some big pass plays in tight windows. They put over 40 against a team that seemed to have a good defensive game plan. I believe the Bills best bet is to play a nickel D with Siran Neal or T. Johnson to to cover TEs and 4 man rush for the most part with a very selective blitz package. Play disciplined D run to the ball and do their best to avoid big plays and make the Ravens go on long drives. They will make some plays. Hope for some classic WNY winter weather to make the ball fakes difficult and maybe they will put a couple on ground. On D, Baltimore has excellent corners and has tight coverage. They did a very good job against talented receiver groups for the Rams and Texans. And their pass rush is good. They've jumped out to big leads which has helped the past rush. The Bills will need to stick with the run including J. Allen. Will be interesting to see how SF runs against them. That game will be a huge challenge. Definitely the best offense the Bills have faced this year, and a well coached opportunistic D.
  16. Yes he is wrong. What started it was a late hit and then Garrett pulling Rudolph to the ground when the ball is already 20 yards downfield.
  17. That is a Rex Ryan move. Although Rex would've worn the shirt to weekly press conference. Rex was entertaining, and to a lesser degree, so is Freddie. But neither are the guys you want to be the head man if you're trying to build a consistent winning organization.
  18. Exactly. Big difference from the Pregame talk
  19. That wass awesome. Had the feel of a big game and loved beating the Cowboys and their obnoxious fans. yes i remember getting my nose rubbed In atmost 30 yes ago in Pasadena and Atlanta
  20. Gary Marangi. I only know that bc I remember reading that OJ’s 275 yd game was also one of the worst QB performances in NFL history. Or at least the last 50 yeaes. Something like 25 yards passing.
  21. I was out and just got home to watch the 4th QTR. WOW what an ass-kicking. The graphic that they showed about the Ravens pummeling Pete Carrol, Belichick, Wade, and I forgot who was the 4th top quality experienced HC / DC is impressive. Next week against SF will be fun to watch
  22. 5. Allen’s running was very effective today. The scramble on 3rd and 5 in the 1st QTR was a great athletic play. I really enjoyed watching him play today. Nice write up as usual. Look forward to your recaps each week
  23. How does the league continue to justify these ridiculous calls to give NE games. Referring to the BS tripping call
  24. Actually the last couple years have not been so bad. In general it seems like less injuries since McD got here. The depth also minimizes the impact when guys do go down. Previous years, losing a quality starter like Harrison Phillips would’ve hurt worse.
