This is very true. Passer rating differential is one of the most reliable stats there is to predict wins and losses. Here are the top 8 and bottom for this year. All of the top 8 are in the playoffs or in good position to make it. And all of the bottom 8, are out or have their playoff chances hanging by a thread. Unfortunately the Bills are 2nd worst because they're dead last offensively. They're top 7 Defensively. It makes sense when you consider the early season blowouts. I have been impressed with Allen's overall game the last month. But he will need to significantly improve efficiency for long term success. 2018 Through yesterday. Benjamin Bojorquez - Dropped snap, botched field goal that should have been a pick 6, 2 long returns, and then blocked punt. The guy averages 1 disasterous play per game. It doesnt matter if he is paid the minimum, he’s a huge negative at a position that just needs to be neutral.

Actually Tuel and EJ were clearly better statistically. It is amazing the parallels to 2013. Peterman and Tuel are basically the same guy. And EJ and Allen are both big athletic guys who look the part but can’t read a Defense and aren’t accurate enough. McCarron and Kolb had similar experience levels and both seemed like they could develop into solid NFL QBs when the Bills signed them, Only to look Terrible in preseason / training camp, suffer pre-season injuries and never play for the Bills in the Reg. Season. Both EJ and Allen end up forced into action in week 1 before they are ready. Throw in Thad Lewis getting picked up mid-season and starting a game on 1 week of practice. It's heartbreaking to watch this guy and knowing that we have still have a big Question Mark at QB. Not to mention Deshaun Watson. But Whaley and the entire scouting department actually were fired immediately after screwing up and not taking either guy. It's just stupid that you would have a lame duck staff run the draft. Seriously? Tyrod is a limited QB. McDermott made a mistake with Peterman (twice), but he was taking a shot to improve the team. What about the 70%+ of the team that is black. McD is biased against all of them?

The signature pre-season play for Allen was dodging Orchard and hitting Streeter for the TD. Ironic that they’re now on opposite sides. Streeter was a guy that I was rooting for to make the team. Glad he found a home and gets to keep playing in the NFL.

We can have Corey Coleman back now. What really stinks is that Cleveland threw in a conditional 7th round pick to close the deal. It was nice of Beane to send a 7th rounder for 2 weeks of practice from Coleman

IMO he only had 3 really bad passes. The 2 picks and the one where lobbed it over and behind Murphy's head. Going back and watching the game again, Allen played well given the score, the team around him, and being his first start. His final stats for the game, including sacks & rushing yardage were representative of how he played. I am more optimistic about JA than I was 1 month ago. He has a long way to go, but this is a guy who actually has the ability to put up 300 yard games, which has been unbelievably rare for the Bills the last 20 years. Hopefully he shows enough promise and consistency by the end of the year, that some receivers will want to come to Buffalo. And wow, was the defense awful in the first half. It's hard to imagine that the defense would be that terrible for the 1st 6 quarters of the year.

Even if Allen is not ready. We need to find out if he has the potential to be a franchise QB. It would be different if we had a legit NFL QB that gives the team a chance to win. But Tyrod is gone and we never found out about McCarron. What can Allen possibly learn watching Peterman’s historically awful performances? He needs to play.

Through training cap, It looked like Dean Marlowe was going to be on the 53. History with McBeane and reports were that he was performing well. But Siran Neal outplayed him in preseason games 3 and 4. This was a case where preseason games likely did matter.
