Quote from Josh highlighting the Bills' flawed thinking...

Gugny once again bringing the astute erudition to the discussion. -
I wish him luck because I can’t see a contending team agreeing to a deal like that for the reason you cited.
-
I’d consider signing OBJ to a one year prove it deal and nothing more.

Yeah, they were real craftsmen. It’s interesting to note that their routine was taken from a vaudeville routine in the early 1900s, which was based on the premise of two cities in a country named Which and What. But A&C refined it to the art piece it became. It literally never gets old and in my book, that’s the true test of comedy.
-
Perhaps the greatest comedy routine ever created and performed.

“Low man wins” is an age old football reality. And the QB has nothing to do with that.

Trevon Diggs trying to get his brother in Dallas

We need to connect the smoke dots. -
All due respect for Hodgins, but he had one decent game and one pretty good game. And he was brought down to earth rather rudely the week after. Losing Hodgins did not and does not make one iota of a difference to the Bills’ prospects for success moving forward. As for Daboll, I am only happy as hell for him. His COTY award only reflects positively on McDermott as without McD, Daboll never would have gotten the opportunity so soon.

Excluding QB, who has the better roster, Bills or Jets?
K-9 replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Jets have the better overall roster as they should given the abundance of premium draft picks. But as we’ve seen countless times over the years, superior rosters are often wasted when that roster isn’t superior at the most important position. Unless they get the QB position solved, that surrounding talent will wither more than win. -
Apparently Vegas doesn't agree the Bills are done...

The NFL salary cap is an illusion. -
By bust, I mean that he wasn’t gonna be a starter in the league, let alone measure up to his status as the 7th overall pick. That was strictly a fabricated narrative based on a shallow interpretation of college stats by talking head pundits. But it was NEVER the consensus among NFL scouts and other talent evaluators, who had the resources to conduct in depth evaluations of not only his physical attributes for the position but his aptitude for the job as well. They were also able to put his “accuracy numbers” in context as well, because pro scouts and other talent evaluators know that accuracy doesn’t just mean completion percentage, which is all the talking heads pointed to as proof that he wasn’t going to succeed. The only concern scouts had was his experience at the position, which was virtually none as compared to other college prospects who attend elite camps starting in middle school and specialize in the position throughout high school and college all the while getting dedicated coaching at the position and all it entails. Scouts knew Allen had none of that and that it would take a time investment to get him up to speed at the position. How much time it would take was the only question and it was just a matter of when not if he would be a star. The scouting community was quite unanimous in its evaluation, despite what less informed talking heads would have us believe.

Don’t tell me you’re actually one of the dots!
-
Then you don’t know Dunkirk Don.
-
Nobody and I mean nobody in the personnel business who actually do this for a living in the NFL had an expectation that Allen would be a bust. Indeed, the scouting reports were spot on. The bust narrative was a fabricated theme generated by uninformed talking head pundits who don’t have the resources to do the due diligence required to make informed analysis.

Can you link me to all of your posts pounding the table for those players at the time? Hindsight GMing is the easiest job in the world.

Was the rest of Allen golfing as well, or just his elbow?

Which one was worse ? 13 seconds or Cinci fail ?
K-9 replied to Repulsif's topic in The Stadium Wall
Because we got our asses handed to us it was much easier for me to accept and much easier to flush out of the system. It wasn’t our day, we were never in contention, so tip of the hat to a better team. We had KC beat and gave it away. Gave. It. Away. That’s just so much harder to accept. -
And Josh Allen would be the first to admit that as he is his own worst critic. But his criticism would he informed and full of context. Talking head pundits? Not so much.
-
Yeah, I hadn’t seen his earlier troll attempts otherwise I wouldn’t have responded to him at all previously. I can’t believe the clueless trash about Allen that he offers up.
-
Your point was that the Bills are “singularly dependent” on Josh Allen. I merely pointed out that other teams are “singularly dependent” on their QBs as well. If you were gonna make a different point about building the pieces around him, then perhaps you should have been more articulate in making it in the first place.
-
Right. Removing Burrow or Mahomes and those teams wouldn’t miss a beat. EVERY team with a franchise QB is “singularly dependent” on them. Great receivers and great OLs just can’t do much without them. Josh is not unique in that regard in the least.
