  1. Watch that play again. There was no scrambling, Josh stepped up in a crowded pocket and launched it. It wasn't something they improvised like last week against the Pats***. Allen didn’t get enough on the throw.
  2. There were a couple, but it was more of a comment on a season-long trend.
  3. Football can be a cruel mistress.
  4. Reading some of the over-emotional crap takes in this thread, one would think the Bills got their butts handed to them today. Just a cess pool of misery.
  5. 3.9 yards per pass, 2.1 yards per rush, 3.3 yards per play. Few defenses in the history of the league have dominated a game like that in any game, let alone a playoff game. We tend to focus on the numerous third and very long situations our D gives up and we lose sight of what they actually accomplish in a game. That said, imo a truly dominant defense just doesn’t give up those third and longs.
  6. They spied him on nearly every play.
  7. I don’t disagree about knowing the game situation and how important it is to manage a possession. But whenever Josh sees Cover-0, he has the green light and he has for several seasons now, even under Daboll. I’d bet that Dorsey got in his ear after that one series. But Allen is gonna take his kill shots if he sees the opportunity. That’s also about trusting his defense as well. All that said, Josh needs to know when to rein it in at times.
  8. Nobody complained last week either, when Josh hit Diggs on the bomb on 3rd and 10 with under nine minutes to play when only leading by five. They’re called kill shots for a reason. I hope teams continue to play Cover-0 because those plays are there to be made because our guys get open on those routes with freqency.
  9. There were several attempts by Allen where he had to change the trajectory on shorter throws because DLmen wereq in his face and affected the throw. Also, it’s common to have a couple longer routes in order to clear the shorter areas. I’ll bet Josh and Co. are gonna smack themselves in the head while watching the film tomorrow because there were plays to be made on those shallower routes.
  10. On to Jax? You think the Ravens are gonna beat the Bengals tonight? Gutsy call and I’d love to see it.
  11. Allen hit several underneath routes vs the blitz this afternoon. The catches by Morris and Beasley were particularly timely.
  12. Because Josh sees those are plays are there to be made and he has free rein to attempt to make them. Last week he made a couple, this week he missed a couple. That said, there are better times than others to try those plays and 3rd and short at that juncture of the game is just not a good time. Josh needs to be smarter there.
  13. That’s the way I understood it, yes. But I’m sure there is wide ranging opinion in the medical community.
  14. The way it was explained to me by a spine surgeon in one word: stability.
  15. Both practiced with Micah once again wearing the red non-contact jersey.
  16. I never underestimate any opponent, but I disagree that Miami should have beat us. Review the 4th quarter after the Phins kicked their FG to go up 29-21 with 12 minutes to go because from that point on Allen simply took over the game including burning the last six minutes of the game by driving 86 yards to set up Bass’s winning FG. Teams that “should” have won simply don’t give up two long scoring drives to the opponent with the game on the line in the 4th quarter. If a team “should” have won it was us in the first meeting when we dominated Miami in every area except the final score. We lost that game more than Miami won it whereas we earned every bit of our win in December.
  17. I didn’t read your previous exchanges on the matter, I was just seeking some clarification on your wording. And you’re correct, a QB need not necessarily be a great runner to execute RPOs as they’re designed. Unlike a read option play. Perhaps you’re thinking of a read option play. RPOs are just that, options to run or pass whereas the read option is strictly a running play by either the RB if the QB hands off or by the QB if he chooses not to.
  18. You’ve lost me here. An RPO play literally involves the QB every time because he is the one that determines which option to choose.
  19. None of the injury statuses carry over from season to season. If they advance to the SB but don’t activate Hyde by Feb. 1st, he goes back on IR for the remaining 11 days of the season thru the SB on Feb. 12th.
  20. Hey, Dan Fetes. Saying “nobody got it” means nobody found it funny.
  21. My retired surgeon friend said it’s rare as well. I’m guessing he would feel the same way about the marketing aspect you mention. I’m gonna send him that same link. When I reviewed it again in the context of the entire website yeah, there’s a certain snake oil element to it.
  22. Why do you tempt the wrath of the football gods? Have we not been smote enough?
  23. After I read your initial post I found this article about the decompression procedure and it dovetails with my conversation with my retired surgeon friend. You might find it interesting as well. https://www.spine-care-specialists.com/minimally-invasive-cervical-decompression.html
