  1. I think Spags is more of a gravy guy.
  2. Can someone find Spags’s take after last year’s first round? I seem to recall similar bluster out of New Jersey as well. Each year all the pundits tout how the Jest have killed it in the draft only to see it fizzle once the reality of the NFL season sets in. Hey Jimmy, let me know when the Jest actually accomplish something on the field instead of on paper.
  3. Enough about Dallas already. You act as if Dallas was the only concern because they were IN FRONT of the Bills and that there weren’t teams BEHIND the Bills on the phone with the Ravens inquiring about pick 23. I’d bet any amount of money that there were and that Beane had been in touch with the Ravens and other teams picking in the low twenties for days leading up to the draft. I’d also bet money that KC moving up to get a CB had the Ravens’ phone ringing off the hook immediately afterward tonight.
  4. Good take. Some people here are only focused on Dallas as the team we jumped in front of, but that’s myopic at best. These GMs aren’t shy about telling each other who’s calling who with what offers. Beane may or may not have been concerned with Dallas, but there were other teams on the phone with the Ravens inquiring about pick 23 I guarantee it. And I think your hunch about the Titans is spot on.
  5. Love what he told said to Beane at their visit lunch and I love this as well. It suggests he reeks of football character.
  6. And it’s not like he amassed those numbers playing in a weak conference against second tier competition either. He faced the best receivers the SEC had to offer. And he’s only 20. Stratospheric ceiling.
  7. As people, perhaps I can see the comparison. As professional athletes in their respective sports, I don’t see it at all. They are night and day in terms of both talent and performance as pros.
  8. Can’t see the Menziel comparison because Eichel is a genuinely talented player at the NHL level whereas Johnny Football should have quit after college.
  9. Eichel quit on this team and its fans well before he hurt his neck and then spent six months throwing the team under the bus over his surgery, continued to lie about it on a Chris Weidman podcast after resuming playing, and then saw fit to insult the fans after his return to Buffalo with Vegas. He deserves every last ounce of derision coming his way from this fan base and he has only himself to blame for that because he’s a classless individual. Once a masshole, always a masshole. F U Eichhole.
  10. Not sure how anyone can find PFF credible after admitting they undermine their reporting integrity by deliberately trolling fans with takes they admit are untrue. It’s always been amateur hour at PFF and Monson proves it.
  11. Though sometimes conflicted, Kim has been on board with the Slippin’ Jimmy side of things since the series began.
  12. No, I don’t watch twitch. And from the sound of it, I’m glad I don’t. Cluttering up the video you wish to draw to the attention of your viewing audience as you comment on it does nothing but cheapen the product imo.
  13. Not a fan of the scrolling chat box and new subscriber announcements on the screen.
  14. You should start running Haiku police abounding Mind your grammar too
  15. Loved the Samuelsson/Dahlin pair tonight. Mule is a MAN on the ice and it’s no coincidence that Dahlin found all sorts of room tonight. Joker also played a heckuva game; one of his best this year.
  16. Mac Jones shouldn’t feel bad about not having as strong an arm as Josh Allen. You can count the number of QBs in history that have comparable arms on one hand.
  17. That’s not the only conclusion, but it’s up there. Apparently, getting his degree from one of the best business schools is important to him. He’s certainly not gonna reach another Frozen Four with so many of his teammates turning pro, imo.
  18. That would be awesome, but it’s rare for goalies to make the jump to the NHL immediately and have success.
  19. Levi was invited by the NCAA to be present to accept his Richter and NCAA Rookie of the Year awards, so it wasn’t on the Sabres’ dime in the least.
  20. Thought it was cool that Devon Levi watched the Frozen Four games with Pegula and Adams at TD Garden in Boston yesterday.
  21. He’s genuine in every sense of the word and his mantra about family and how important it is to him isn’t just talk. I lived in the Gaithersburg, MD area when he was tearing it up in high school and he had his pick of several big time programs but decided to stay close to home after his dad passed away to be near his mom and younger brothers. That meant less talented QBs throwing to him, being drafted far lower than he otherwise would have been, and costing him some money as a result. And he knew all that going into the recruiting process but still made family his priority. That’s all I need to know about his level of commitment to things he values.
  22. You guys must have missed the Duane Steinel tweet I posted on Tuesday. Levi himself said he can’t wait to be part of Bills mafia. That clinches it for me. His next stop is the Sabres after he college. And as I’ve said previously, the staggered development of our goalie prospects may actually be beneficial.
