This season it really is just Allen and Diggs

Watch the All 22 when it comes out and you will see the Jets played elite defense in the secondary, including, and perhaps especially, their LBs. That’s the bad news. The good news is that we play them again and I think adjustments can be made. -
WEEK #9 - AROUND THE NFL GAMEDAY THREAD - NON BILLS

Perfect timing on that int intended for Kelce. Collinsworth just got done swallowing and didn’t have time to wipe his chin. -
Can we talk about how 2 teams in a row ran it down our throat...
K-9 replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would if the bigger issue wasn’t that two teams in a row have befuddled our offense. -
Cam Newton’s career wasn’t massively shortened because he ran too much or that the refs didn’t protect him. It was massively shortened by an acute shoulder injury suffered while trying to make a tackle on an interception.

While the highly picked player may actually suck, high draft picks having redshirt years is often a sign of a talented, veteran laden team whose starting lineup is hard to crack.

Chance is one of my favorite movie characters of all time.
-
He was fined multiple times last season for COVID protocol violations totaling over 100k.

Yep. Kyrie is being Kyrie and is being held accountable for it.
-
Helluva lot harder for a rookie RB to establish himself and take away playing time on a talented, veteran team with SB aspirations vs. a rebuilding team like the Texans.
-
Taking nothing away from the punters listed and especially the great Sammy Baugh, but yards per punt is just not the be all, end all when it comes to a punter’s effectiveness.
-
Been saying that all week to anyone who will listen. These aren’t quite the same Jets on the D side of the ball.

This thread needs to be pinned.

It will always be Robert James for me. Greatest CB not in the HOF.

I agree with you about what Singletary has put on his resume and I’m not sure what the moon is exactly, but whatever it is, it may be too much for Beane’s tastes given the other contract issues he has to deal with moving forward. Good point about stars and jags, too.
-
All great points here. But regardless of whatever holes Hines might address or not, I think Dorsey wants to create an entirely new dimension for his offense. I think that explains the interest in certain types of RBs like McKissic, McCaffery, and Kamara.
-
I see no reason why Singletary has to be let go, either. But it’s not gonna be up to us as he’s an UFA after the season. If he asks for the moon, I can see Beane being reluctant to meet his demands.
-
And Singletary will never be a receiving matchup problem for defenses, something Hines is very good at. So it’s a complimentary relationship.
-
I suspect Cook doesn’t have a firm enough grasp of several aspects of the game at this point otherwise we probably would see him more. It takes a while. Especially understanding coverage schemes, protection schemes, hot routes, etc. Dorsey has been wanting this type of RB since free agency. Looking forward to seeing what he comes up with.
-
We have no RB who can do what he does as a receiver from every receiver position and present the matchup problems as a result.
-
You will when you see him split out wide and in the types of routes he runs from out there, out of the backfield, or out of the slot. Motor and Cook don’t have his speed or route running ability and neither can be that kind of matchup nightmare as a result. Dorsey has been wanting this kind of weapon for a while.
-
Dorsey finally got his RB wide receiver. Looking forward to Hines split out wide and seeing how defenses decide to defend him because he’s gonna be a matchup problem for LBs or safeties and Dorsey is gonna love catching defenses in unfavorable sub packages as a result. I see a lot of up tempo in the near future.
-
Josh is flat out a better QB in every respect, so yeah, I think he’d adjust much better to the loss of his top two receivers.
-
He’s doing what he’s asked to do consistently from what little I’ve seen of him this season while avoiding the mistakes. I’m sure his coaches and teammates are more than happy about that, too. And that’s all that really matters when it comes down to it. Look, I’ve hated Miami forever and they will always be my most hated rival team, but that’s never blinded me to the reality that opponents, no matter how much I hate them, can have good players playing well.
