    Agree entirely. The Bengals D, especially their very average secondary, had a day off against Huntley.

    Are the Bengals “singularly player dependent” on Burrow? The Chiefs on Mahomes? Given our strengths in other areas, I could make the case that their teams are even more “singularly dependent” on them.

    Funny how Josh isn’t reckless when he hits those deep shots in tight game situations. He attempts those passes for a simple reason: because those plays are there to be made and he is supremely confident that he and his receivers can make them. I have no problem with that.

    There’s a reason why we led the NFL in 3rd down conversion rate and that is because we are usually in manageable down and distance situations.

    That 8th man in coverage, especially when you have LBs that can move, can really complicate things for QBs and receivers. We have LBs that can move so I’d love to see us do that vs. the Bengals at times.

    Yeah, fruitless is the wrong word. More like pointless.

    He’s right. Most adjustments are made while the game is in progress. Coaches and players aren’t on the sidelines pouring over all those still photos and replays on their tablets for nothing. I guarantee Manning made countless adjustments during his career, just not at halftime.

    No, my respect for him won’t change in the least. Just because we were his B word for 20 years, doesn’t mean I don’t have great respect for him as a player. That respect has been there a long time and I don’t understand at all how a person can go from no respect to respect just because he retires. That makes zero sense to me.

    Those who vote for the All Pro teams disagree with you. 1st team All Pro 2019, 2nd team All Pro 2020. He continues to trend in the right direction after his torn ACL and I look forward to him returning to full form next season.

    Of course it’s predictable against Cover-0. And it’s usually wide open as it was yesterday on the passes to Diggs and Davis and last week to Diggs and Brown. Miami was lucky their defensive arrogance didn’t cost them more than it did. I doubt we will see much, if any, Cover-0 against Cincy especially with their banged up CBs. But it would be nice.

    If Miami dropped 10-14 points worth of passes, then our DBs broke up passes worth at least that much.

    I hope he does play. He was already gimpy with a brace on one leg and I imagine he will be even gimpier with an additional brace on the other.

    ESPN reported that he was designated week to week by the Bengals.

    Which is why I’m totally OK with him going deep when he sees Cover-0. It’s there for the taking and he just needs to hit a couple to damage an opponent. That said, there are times and situations where the more prudent play is to move the chains, get a few first downs, give your D a rest, and burn some clock. But I’ll never get mad at Josh for it, either.

    I can take him or leave him. Same goes for every color analyst out there. At this stage of my age and football experience, there is little to nothing that the Collinsworths and Romos of the world can add to my understanding of the game. What I can’t stand though, is the weather vane narratives throughout the broadcast.

    It’s been over two months since we lost Hodgins. Where was all the protest when it happened? When we were being decimated by injuries and forced to carry other players at other positions on the active roster instead of another receiver? I am genuinely happy for the kid that he is getting his shot and taking advantage.

    I got the feeling Baltimore conceded Chase and dared Cinci to beat them with anybody else. Good observation about stopping their run game, too. That is paramount.

    Some fans should do themselves a favor and watch the Sunday afternoon matinee movie instead of the game next week.
