  1. That was a once in a generation performance from Peterman last season in Carson. Not going to happen again. Seriously, given all the crap Peterman has taken from the national media and casual fans, I hope he tears it up this year and rewrites the narrative. Dude has major stones to pick himself up off the turf after that game and embrace the challenge of working and improving. I probably would have started polishing my resume or applied to grad school after that type of humiliation.
  2. I'm probably a 6/10. We are supposed to be the worst team in the league, so expectations are obviously low. I'm curious to see if McDermott is some sort of wizard and gets the team to play greater than the sum of its parts. Also interested to see how Peterman plays and, should that go poorly, whether Allen is able to develop as the season progresses. To my eyes, there is a Jauron era level of talent on this roster, which doesn't indicate much of a high ceiling.
  3. We'll find out soon enough.
  4. I actually feel a little better after looking at those stats. Outside of that terrible half against the Chargers, he wasn't too bad. IMO, he's looked great this preseason. I like Allen too, but it would be great if Nate continued his strong play in the regular season to buy Josh a season of preparation. And then you've got a really strong trade chip in Peterman (or Allen if Peterman somehow ends up elite) to acquire future draft picks.
  5. Local San Diego radio hosts were almost dying laughing today over Nathan Peterman being named the starter.
  6. Last year's point differential was that of a 6-10 team and we've almost certainly gotten worse at many key positions (at least in the short run). Offensive line may be historically bad. If McCoy were to go down with an injury, I don't believe we'd be capable of scoring a single point. Metrics and common sense point to this being a horrible team.
  7. Yep. If all you saw of us last year was our performance against the Saints or Chargers, you wouldn't have thought us capable of winning a single game, let alone making the playoffs.
  8. Ok, I'm already getting ready to duck, but it seems like everyone in the world (outside of Buffalo) is underselling Nathan Peterman. I know he was horrendous in his spotlight moment against the Chargers, but he looks far improved this preseason. He was carving up the Panthers first team defense to the tune of 11 yards per play until his fluke interception. He was mostly solid against the Browns, and he threw some beautiful balls against the Bengals. I would not be surprised if he turns out to be a clear upgrade over Tyrod Taylor. Let's put it this way, if Peterman were a first round pick and had this type of preseason in his sophomore year, I think the perception of the QB position, and the Bills in general, would be far more favorable on the national level. Yes, he's going to throw some interceptions (and probably some more pick-6s), but I think he'll get this offense moving, especially with the threat of McCoy in the backfield.
  9. Murphy, Ivory, Edmunds, Croom and Peterman all showed well. Our O-Line, Vontae Davis and Colton Schmidt all stuck out like sore thumbs for their miserable performances. Mediocrity from most everyone else.
  10. Peterman looks as good as his stat line. Taking what the defense gives him but also making some really nice throws and giving his receivers a chance to make a play. He's the most ready to lead this team... right now.
  11. Peterman looking good again. Sliding in pocket to find space. Good anticipatory throws. He seems really improved over last season.
  12. This is 1984-85 level of talent we are trotting out there this year. Going to be a loooooonnnnngggg season.
  13. Yes and No. I have young kids now, so I watch far less of it than I did when I was younger. Having said that, I still follow it pretty closely due to fantasy football. And my interest has increased since McBeane came to town.
  14. Can't really disagree with his take. Our roster is pretty pitiful, but it's not really any worse than last season. We really only have three things going for us: Culture, coaching and LeSean McCoy. Last year's playoff appearance was manna from heaven for the fanbase, but I've always viewed this as a 2-3 year rebuild.
  15. With my Mom and Dad at their snowbird home in Palm Springs. Great weather, new house, big TV, home cooked food, and lots of family. Can't be beat!
  16. I hope so, because Im in Vegas and just $100 on Bills at 100-1.
  17. I don't think our talent is any worse than it was last year, and in some positions we should be improved (wr, dline, maybe even qb?). With McDermott running things, I can't see us being one of the worst three or four teams in the league. Given our schedule, I see 6-8 wins. And I am fine with that at the moment.
  18. I never minded a little trash talk and cockiness, but this guy takes it to a whole new level. I think I might actually hate him now. Lol.
  19. I agree. A definite NFL quarterback. Looks like he has a solid Kelly Holcomb or Fitz type of career ahead of him.
  20. I would definitely move AJ if possible. Nate is younger, cerebral more upside, and his floor appears to be a very solid #2. Move AJ for whatever you can get and roll Nate out there until Josh is ready to take over.
  21. He will break down quick. There's no beating father time.
  22. Even if he sucks and we cut him by the end of camp, we gave up basically nothing for him. I have no problem with spending a 7th round pick on a lottery ticket.
  23. Thanks for this reminder of the good in the world. :)
