  1. The bottom line is that I don’t think anyone on this board is going to type the words, “damn, Dane Jackson would have made that play” during a Bills game next season. Best of luck to him!
  2. And she knows the wings at Anchor Bar suck.
  3. I really can’t believe you’re a Duke fan. You’re better than that.
  4. Interesting comments in this thread. I would have thought it a no-brainer “good thing” to have DQ back in the mix, but a lot of you are worried he is falling off the cliff. I guess we’ll see.
  5. Gabe is certainly one of the most enigmatic draft picks of the Beane era. Had games in which he dominated, and long stretches in which you wondered if he was on the field. A lot of nagging lower body injuries that probably affected him more than we know. Never turned into that reliable 2nd guy who could make a contested catch for a 1st down when you needed it. By all accounts a great guy loved by his teammates and coaches. A willing and able blocker. We’ll never forget the KC performance in the playoffs and the Pittsburgh game — but that is also the problem. There aren’t enough of those types of memories. I really do wish him best of luck. I’m sure we’ll have the “Gabe update” threads around here by both those who loved and hated him.
  6. Best of luck to you, Gabe...so long as your interests do not conflict with mine.
  7. Good news from a Bills perspective. Whether you believe Russ is washed or not, he’ll be competent for Pittsburgh and I like seeing those four AFCN teams beating each other up.
  8. Agreed. The “window” talk is media fodder and meaningless while Josh is in his prime and we have a competent organization. The bottom line is that we didn’t get it done with the pieces we had the last few years and the players who were released were too expensive for what they brought to the table. I respect Beane for not being sentimental and doing what is needed.
  9. Common man, give us a brake.
  10. Just BBB doing competent GM things...nice to see.
  11. They will lose some existing season ticket holders, and gain new ones. I agree the individual game market will be just fine.
  12. I think it's pretty clear what they're trying to do. They want fans to come to the exhibition they've set up and be blown away rather than making a decision based upon a video or drawings. And yes, of course tickets are going to be more expensive -- I don't understand why anyone would think differently. The Buffalo Bills live experience in Orchard Park is going to change. Not everyone who went to games before is going to be able to go in the future. it's just the way it is. That doesn't mean the stadium and experience for those who do go won't be awesome.
  13. Amazing to me how many sad sack fans want to b-i-t-c-h and moan about what is clearly going to be an awesome venue. You people act as though this was some knee jerk decision when so much thought and inspiration has obviously gone into the design. Just stay home. Plenty of us will happily be there.
  14. Maybe I phrased it poorly...if the Bills simply cut Bates they'd be fully on the hook for and dead cap part of his contract, but by trading him they have more cap savings...I think?
  15. Haven’t read through the entire thread, but I imagine the reason they couldn’t get more than a 5th is because by trading Bates they discard the entire cap hit rather than having dead cap if they released him? That’s a nearly 5M savings.
  16. One very easy decision is not to suggest cutting an integral part of the defense who is under contract and in his prime.
  17. Sure, let’s cut one of the best players at his position — and one who fits this particular defense perfectly. That makes sense.
  18. Sounds like Timmah being Timmah. He's probably tight with Ty Dunne too.
  19. First of all, you're nuts to believe anything coming out of Li'l Dirty's mouth. Second, what if it wasn't McD's play calls and the players simply didn't execute? Would we "have so much respect for him" if he blamed Levi Wallace for blowing the coverage or blamed the ST coach for not communicating the call correctly on the kickoff? He has taken as much accountability for that game as anyone ever should. People still act as though it was a miracle even though we've seen teams get into position to kick a long FG like that before and since. Leslie Frazier's defense folded like a lawn chair in crunch time. McD is rightfully proud of what they've accomplished over seven years, but is obviously not satisfied. I really don't know what the hell anyone wants him to say.
  20. I’m not here to shame fans but I fail to understand why this thread was started in the first place. By almost any measure Groot has been a “successful” draft pick. If you are only looking at sacks then I question how much you really understand D line play. Carry on. I really hate the offseason.
  21. So sorry to hear this. 37 is ridiculously young. Sincere condolences.
  22. Call me crazy but if he'll take a big pay cut I'd sign him to back up Josh.
