  1. Brand new rule for 2019. Flagstick may be left in while on green. Statistics suggest you should leave it in, but most pros still take it out. When I'm playing I've been leaving it in for putts of 10 ft. or more, then taking it out for the short ones. The other "big" new rule in 2019 is taking a drop from knee height rather than shoulder height. No, it's complete b.s. Tiger would have lost four balls today on any "regular" course. August has very few areas of true "trouble."
  2. Just because you keep repeating yourself doesn't mean you're right. Really. Who is accepting mediocrity? Most of us are talking about what looks like a cohesive plan that is moving the team forward. You like to live in a world of 20-20 hindsight, which is really easy and lazy.
  3. The Chargers have one of the most talented rosters in the league, led by a fringe HOF-caliber QB. As we've debated in other threads, the Bills (Beane/McD) made a conscious decision to turn away from the roster Whaley left them. Whether you agree or disagree with what they did and why, the roster lost talent and it's actually pretty remarkable they won 6 games a year ago. The point is they have a plan and are seeing it through. I think it's disingenuous (at best) to continue to bring up Mahomes as a "blunder" by McD or the Pegulas. He was FAR from a "sure thing" prospect and he wound up in a perfect spot. I won't blame a first-year HC for catering to his strengths and acquiring a talent like Tre White.
  4. I really like Koepka. He's got nerves of steel also and I don't expect him to fade.
  5. Whoa, and just like that Molinari bogeys 7 and Tiger has a kick-in for birdie. Fasten your seatbelts!
  6. In my estimation the Pegulas have only made one major blunder with respect to the Bills -- hiring Rex. It was a "flashy" move completely driven by Russ Brandon -- a man they trusted, the guy who "shepherded" them through the sale process. They got burned. As I've mentioned in other threads Whaley was in over his head -- a fantastic scout and talent evaluator who had no clue how to build a team and didn't (as far as we know) exert his influence nearly enough in the HC hiring process. Aside from that I have few complaints. Yes, the W-L record hasn't been stellar but everything is trending in the right direction. I believe (you may disagree) that Beane in particular was a home run hire. I love the culture McD has instilled but he has yet to show me he's a better-than-average game day coach.
  7. Molinari is freaking unflappable. Not playing great by any means right now but 6 straight pars including two monster saves. If not for Francesco you'd be looking at 12 guys between -8 and -10! Still a lot of golf left, but it doesn't look like Molinari is going to come back to the field.
  8. Cue the usual “I’ll reserve judgment until they show it on the field” suspects...
  9. I don’t put Daly in that category. He burst upon the scene but he had staying power, was an entertaining train wreck, and even won a 2nd Major. He was a star.
  10. Great stuff, Senator. Almost makes me overlook your fondness for Cynthia Frelund. I always pull for Lefty -- after all, I golf left-handed myself. Really pulling for Brooks also, though. I like it when guys have a chance to do something really special and he'd have three of the last four Majors if he pulls it off. I'm in the camp that the Majors should be won by the stars...never a fan of seeing an upstart or no-name taking one of these tournaments because you know they'll never be heard from again (you hear me, Danny Willett, Rich Beem, Ben Curtis, and Shaun Micheel?).
  11. Me, visiting this thread:
  12. If that leak is correct (no reason to think it isn't) the Browns have FIVE primetime games this season including their first two. Two Monday nights, two Sunday nights, and a Thursday night. Bills @ Browns (not primetime) on 11/24.
  13. Exactly. The visitors locker room should be miserable. It's called "home field advantage" for a reason.
  14. Except when it comes to the Sabres.
  15. I was ready to b-i-t-c-h about how long that post was, and then I actually read it. Well done. I'm excited about #4 and #5 in particular.
  16. Three takeaways from that video: 1 -- Fitzy is just one of the great all-time dudes 2 -- Darnold has a horrible golf swing 3 -- Josh is da man
  17. What media guy shoots videos in portrait orientation? Idiot.
  18. Somebody needs to. I mean, for crying out loud, just because the guy looks like a linebacker and is physically fit doesn't mean he can't be a great golfer. And his WAG is a hottie.
  19. I've watched a handful of episodes over the years, most recently about three or four of the Browns' episodes last season. It's a completely edited "reality TV" show. It's not a documentary in any sense of the word. I mean, come on -- that overly dramatic piece about Corey Coleman's shoe collection and him leaving the facility? Give me a break. While I found some entertainment value watching the manufactured drama of other teams, there's no way in hell I want the Bills on that show. Just a personal preference.
  20. Well, here it is. What a first day -- Koepka (trying to make it three of the last four majors) firing a 66, Mr. Analytics matching his score, and Phil firing a 67 despite going in the water at #11! Even Tiger (70) playing well. Perhaps the biggest surprise of the day? The Brits did not fare well aside from Poulter -- Rory +1, Rose +3, and Casey +9 (ouch). Koepka was my pick to win before it started. The dude is just locked in, but he has to be one of the most underrated 3-time Major winners of all time. If Phil is around on Sunday, though, this could be a lot of fun as he tries to tie Tiger for Masters wins.
  21. I don't know what the big "surprise" is here. When all 31 other teams know you want to move a guy you lose all leverage. I don't think Arizona is a very astute organ-eye-zation. At this point I might just draft Murray and keep Rosen -- make it a QB competition in camp and let the best man win. It's a novel approach but dealing Rosen for peanuts would be stupid unless the Cardinals' staff is convinced Rosen is not the guy. Getting the QB decision right is, as we know, the most important thing a franchise can do. I'm not going to trash Rosen in this space but he did not perform the way I expected last season and appeared to be regressing towards year-end. One can make all of the usual excuses about bad OL play and whatnot, but it is what it is. Compare and contrast how Allen finished out the year with just as crappy of a supporting cast. There's something about Rosen that gives me the impression he could just as easily say "eff this schitt" and stop playing football altogether.
  22. Agreed. This year's #9 can not be part of the deal. But my goodness -- imagine a D line that adds Clark and Oliver, and realize the Bills have at least attempted to shore up the OL and provide Josh some weapons? The D could be an absolute beast and the O should be much improved. This suddenly becomes a team with the potential to make a deep playoff run if the cards fall correctly.
  23. I get all of the access to my team I need through the various media outlets (traditional and social). I don't need to see what HBO editors believe are "juicy" storylines, taken out of context in an effort to manufacture drama. No thank you.
