I'm the opposite. This draft holds a ton of intrigue and I think Beane will be bobbing and weaving all over the place. Gone are the boring days of the Buddy Nix "we pick in the slot we're in" drafts.

This is truth. It's why they basically give it away to their subscribers as well (if you work a little bit for it). I've been a DTV guy for 25 (crap, I'm old) years. I still like it but I'd be happy to switch over to Google TV or something else eventually. When DTV does lose the Ticket, or it becomes available in a reliable way over another platform that doesn't require a DTV subscription, I'll likely switch.

I've found this board brings out the absolutely worst form of stubbornness in some people.

You're really not making very skilled arguments. 12 teams make the playoffs each year. You're admitting with your numbers above that at least one-third of playoff teams win 12 or more games each season (4.6, to be precise). Usually at least two per conference. In 2011 half of the playoff teams won that much. If we look at the Bills and think they're a potential playoff team, tell me why again it's "crazy" to suggest they might win 12 games? I'll hang up and listen.

The always isn't the physical dish part -- it's the consistently reliable product part. Until NFL streaming isn't a "pirate" activity subject to interruptions in service and a lot of other hiccups (like not being able to record), people will want Sunday Ticket.

Some people just want to sit down, turn on the TV, and know where the game is without having to scramble around the internet and then "hope" the feed doesn't cut out. Even more so if they have guests over. There will always be a market for services "like this."

I think my expectation of somewhere between 8 and 12 wins was stated very clearly in an earlier post.
