You're not alone in that thinking...the line is going up (now at -4.5). I think the Fish hate Gase and now that they're eliminated from playoff contention they're not going to be working hard for him at all.

I agree, and I feel pretty confident that Beane and McD see it this way also. I expect mid-tier free agents, re-signing their own, and continuing to build through the draft. They need difference-makers on offense though, to take advantage of Allen's potential.

Did I miss the part of this MONSTROUS 2-year extension announcement in which the Bills said (or even implied) they are through addressing the QB situation into the future? And further, is there evidence during McD and Beane's massive 2-year run that suggests they don't plan on continuing to evaluate the QB situation going forward? I mean, they only drafted one in both drafts and have had about six or seven through the program. Sounds to me like you really have something to worry about here!

Agreed. The two QBs seem to have developed good chemistry and you can tell Barkley is totally rooting for Josh.

Most unbelievable half of college BB I've ever witnessed. Howard was unstoppable. UB acquitted themselves well; nothing to be ashamed of when a guy goes off for 40+ in one half and hits absolutely everything he throws up regardless of the defense.

The unranked UB women just gave #8 Stanford a pretty good game...lost by 7 and held Stanford to their lowest output of the season.

Regardless, I'm just glad McD's love affair with him is over.

Wow, I just looked at Marquette's schedule. They are no joke. Besides a bad 23-pt loss to unranked Indiana early, they have beaten two ranked teams and lost to Kansas by only 9. If UB somehow wins this one, then given their remaining schedule they are staring at a potential #4 seed (or better) in the NCAA tourney. Huge game. Worst case scenario, it still wouldn't be a "bad" loss as long as they aren't blown out.

Your reasoning is sound, but I think Daboll's familiarity with Belichick is also a plus. The truth is if you have a QB who is a legitimate threat to pass from the pocket as well as run, you're really picking your poison as a defense. That's why Allen is so damned intriguing. If he really "gets it" between the ears his skill set immediately rockets him into the upper echelon of NFL QBs. Sure, the Pats*** can play a man deep over Foster and put a spy on Allen but if they do that we're playing 10-against-8. I like those odds with a talented QB.

Too funny. When the Airpods came out I was like "no way am I getting those" but sure enough, about a year later I bought a pair and they are awesome. I don't walk around with them (or any headphones) on, though -- I use them when working from home as my wireless headset. Freaking fantastic. I've never had to take an Apple product back to the store for them to "fix" -- I have no idea what people are doing when they brick them.

It has been fun watching Allen's progression the past few weeks and seeing how defenses are already having to change the way they prepare. I agree trying to predict these QBs' career doppelgangers is a futile exercise at this point.

Looks like Daboll and Allen have a good relationship. The kid is certainly a leader; love the "it's on me" for not getting points on the previous drive.

Did you think Josh was inaccurate last week? Did you see him take a lot of hits? I guess I don't understand your prediction -- we truly don't know what the future holds, but based upon what appears to be rapid progression I find it somewhat illogical to have a pessimistic viewpoint about Allen's ceiling. I'll pretty much guarantee the Bills won't be taking a QB in the 1st or 2nd round next year.

Sorry for starting another "Allen progress" thread but I think a lot gets lost in the individual threads that turn back into draft debates. I've been reading the various film reviews of Allen's play after every game from The Athletic -- Joe Licata does one each week w/ Matt Fairburn, and then Cover1 does his as well. I also look at Joe B's write-ups. It has been fascinating to read the articles and see how things have progressed. This week a common thread emerged -- Allen is progressing at a pretty rapid rate, even from game to game. I think we heard this from McD as well this week -- he said Josh is a different QB from just three weeks ago in Miami (when he was the best player on the field). The "stat sheet" fans and critics who get caught up in completion percentages, yardage totals, and passer ratings at this point in Allen's career aren't really giving themselves a chance to see what is happening. I look back to the guy who played vs. the Chargers in W2 or Packers in W4, and I see a completely different QB now. Even in the Minnesota game, Allen primarily made plays with his legs and the defense put the Bills up big early with turnovers. Against Detroit Allen stood in the pocket, made his reads, and delivered darts. He threw short passes, touch passes, and long passes. Yes, I know they only scored 14 points but Allen -- at least to me -- looked like a composed, competent NFL QB. This week Bill Belichick is doing his typical thing, talking up the opponent -- but I think he legitimately believes it. For the last several years it was easy for the Pats*** -- you keep Tyrod in the pocket and make him beat you as a passer. He couldn't do it. Now the Bills appear to have a guy who can and BB knows it. I believe the Bills have a real shot this week. Their defense played Brady* well in the first meeting, and their offense looks nothing like that train wreck. I only hope ST doesn't screw it up.

For any business application I'd definitely go MS -- I use a Surface exclusively at work. At home, however, we're an Apple family -- iPhones, iPads, and a Mac -- and have no complaints whatsoever.
