  1. We're talking about "above average" -- not "elite." I certainly never used that word. Is it so difficult to admit Cook is above average?
  2. If it makes you feel any better, the Bills are really the only team that has almost kept them out of it...twice.
  3. I'm not going to even read this thread, but you're talking about a QB who hasn't failed to reach the conference championship game in ANY of his seasons as a starting QB. What exactly are people supposed to say about him?
  4. Let's just say for sake of argument that we divide RB1s into three groups: 1-10 (above average), 11-20 (average), and 21-32 (below average). Do you think there are 10 better RB1s in the NFL than Jimbo Cook? I think the words are self-explanatory. A RB who is better than average. See above, and please name all of the RB1s you believe are better than Cook.
  5. There are extremely few RBs who should be signed to "big" contracts. That's not particularly relevant to the question of whether Cook is an above-average RB1. I think the statistics (and eye test) clearly show that he is.
  6. Ah yes, Jenn Sterger…Brett Musberger remembers her as well…
  7. What an ignorant, head-in-the-sand comment.
  8. Interesting. We know fans aren’t always the best judges of coaching so I guess I’ll hope for the best. Maybe he’s better suited for the pro game.
  9. Where are you getting your info? Serious question, not saying you’re wrong…just curious. This adds some context to what Monty wrote. If he sucks as a recruiter because he doesn’t kiss players’ asses I think I’m good with that.
  10. Having watched three SB losses in Buffalo, I want to be there for the euphoria when we finally break through...
  11. Went to XVIII in Atlanta; was living there at the time. Still had Bills season tix and through a connection at the ticket office got four face value seats. It was a fun experience but the weather sucked so there wasn't any real "hanging out" downtown. Game was in the rather new (at the time) Georgia Dome and the biggest thing I noticed, even back then, was that it didn't have the same feel as a game played for the fans. Box checked. I've always said that when the Bills go back I want to watch it in Buffalo.
  12. Loved watching Curry at UNC. Never met the ridiculously high expectations he had coming in but was a solid contributor to both the basketball and football programs. Won't hurt my feelings to see a fellow Tar Heel on the Bills staff -- and he brings a tremendous amount of experience.
  13. Looks like you have a 9% approval rate at this point. Gotta love the offseason.
  14. Jacksonville didn't specifically engineer updates to their stadium to create a 20-30 degree difference on the opposing sideline. I still say what Miami did does not fall under the auspices of "gamesmanship" and creates an unfair (and potentially dangerous) advantage. I'm amazed the league isn't doing something about it -- it would be so easy to schedule only 4pm or later games during September and October.
  15. The Bills' window is so wide open I keep having to get another blanket. Somebody close that damn thing -- it's cold!
  16. It's really a shame that so many people can't understand or appreciate all of the luck that is involved for a team to reach the Super Bowl. KC is on an extraordinary heater right now with Mahomes, just like NE*** was with Brady -- but look at how one or two plays here or there could have changed the story. Those are two really great teams, with great QBs, who also got extremely lucky at all the right times. That's not coaching. After the Denver loss this season I was ready to move on from McDermott but the changes he made showed me that he does "get it" and is driven to lead the Bills to the Super Bowl. Every coach has situations he looks back upon and wonders if he made the right call. Sean has made more right calls than wrong ones, and putting up a JV squad defense against Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, and Travis Kelce was a losing proposition to begin with. Even so, the gameplan McD implemented/oversaw had the Bills in position at the end of the game. Luck wasn't with us. We will get there. All you can reasonably ask as a fan is to have a team that is in the conversation every year. We have that. If your expectation is Super Bowl or bust simply because we have Josh Allen, I don't know what to tell you other than you're going to spend a lot of your time disappointed.
  17. Yeah, I mean who wants to see a team that wins 7 or 8 home games each year and makes the playoffs? Tough sell indeed.
  18. I'm headed out to Vegas on Friday and seeing the U2 show there...very excited.
  19. Saleh is a 🤡 show, Rodgers is an attention *****, and Hackett is just a joke. Love it.
  20. Every time I poke my head into one of these threads I see the same thing…there are a heluva lot of vocal posters who don’t have an effing clue how to run a successful organization.
  21. Not saying I agree with it at all…just what a fan told me.
  22. So, from the mouth of a Washington fan, the positive take on this hire is that Quinn is a “decent” coach who will establish a good culture, but the biggest change in Washington is that they have a real GM. The problem with Rivera was that he had final say on personnel and consistently made bad decisions. This particular fan is ok if Quinn is replaced in three years because the team has a talent issue that will take time to fix. He also acknowledged that the team took a big swing and miss at Ben Johnson and this was the fallback.
  23. OH, the HUMANITY!!!! Go find another hobby if this one drives you crazy. For f**k sake.
