  1. ...here's a snippet from a conversation Josh and Jim Kelly had with Vic Carucci and Adam Begnini that is supposedly airing soon: One of the biggest lessons Kelly said Allen has needed to learn is to take charge on the field, especially when it comes to communicating with offensive coordinator Brian Daboll. Unlike Kelly, who called his own plays when the Bills made the no-huddle attack their offensive foundation, Allen, as with most NFL QBs, has plays dispatched to him via a headset in his helmet. "(You tell Daboll), 'These are plays I like, these are plays I don't like, and if it ever comes a point in the game where the play's coming in late, call your own play!' " Kelly said. "Daboll gives me the freedom to do that," Allen said. "There were a couple times this Sunday I did it and it worked to our advantage." "Wow! You're listening now," Kelly chimed in. "All right!" "Third down, one of our first third downs, they were trying to sub out, and I called a play, and we got 'em for 12 men on the field and got a first down," Allen said. "There were a couple other ones." "He's listening to Uncle Jim," Kelly said with a laugh.
  2. It appears to be traditional blue on white to my eyes...
  3. Yep, their defense is legitimate, but I don't think that's a reason to "expect" a bad outing from Josh. He's been taking good care of the football lately and if the Bills run up-tempo that's something that has given Denver fits. I think it's a fair statement to say both defenses are probably good enough to keep the scoring down, so it will come down to who makes the most of what we expect will be limited opportunities. I don't "expect" Josh to melt under these circumstances -- I have much more confidence in him than I presume Denver fans have in his counterpart.
  4. I didn't hear anyone rule out spleen.
  5. They absolutely signed him to be the #1, but drafted Knox and Sweeney anyway, and then Kroft got hurt and Knox got an opportunity he has taken hold of. It's not that Kroft is bad, it's that he's just now getting back into it. I'm very happy with a Knox/Kroft combo in 12 personnel if Kroft is fully recovered.
  6. So angry! Dude, it's football. Relax. Your boy Lamar will get his chance to show this offense isn't a flash in the pan.
  7. I'm sorry I had to call you out for not knowing the definition of the word novelty. You're wrong, the offense that Baltimore has designed around Lamar is most certainly novel. I haven't diminished Lamar's accomplishments one bit, I simply said we need to see how well this offense ages.
  8. The only takeaway from this is how embarrassing it is to see and hear Browns fans trying to justify Garrett's actions.
  9. nov - el - ty (noun) -- the quality of being new, original, or unusual. Exactly how is it a "joke" to describe Lamar and the Ravens' 2019 offense in this manner?
  10. and stay healthy. If both of those goals are met I'm a happy camper, whether the victory is by one or 21.
  11. My bad, it's hard to keep up with the scads of Allen-despisers around here. My apologies!
  12. I don't know, man. I mean, Wilson is such a smart passer and a true student of the game. He is a passer first and runner second. I don't see Lamar becoming that sort of player; I think he'll go as long as his legs allow him to, but if it gets to the point where teams can force him to be a pocket passer I don't believe he will be half the QB Wilson is. Wilson is a HOFer. Lamar is at this point a novelty, and we don't know what his shelf life will be.
  13. I'll bite this one time. If you are speaking in general terms about an organization always looking for talent even when they have a good starter then I understand the statement somewhat. If you're inferring that everyone in the organization knows or should have known Allen won't be successful in the NFL the day after they drafted him, well then you're an idiot (apologies to @DC Tom but the moniker fits).
  14. It's a shame these voters don't know the Bills will be looking for a QB by this time next year.
  15. You're right! Good memory.
  16. He IS a meathead. He’s a typical idiot from Cheektovegas who just happened to be big and good at football.
  17. Those wins against the Giants and Skins are going to come back to haunt us.
  18. What RB did Denver have that year who ran all over us that game...was it Sammy Winder? I remember being there like it was yesterday...took a first date to the game and got lucky afterwards.
  19. Not trying to come off as a Daboll apologist, but he explained after the game that the Browns were selling out to stop the run. Plays were there to be made against Cleveland, the Bills just didn’t make enough of them.
  20. And this paddle ball game.
  21. I've heard of Mighty Sam Young. The others? Not so much.
  22. And the Eagles game, and the first Pats*** game.
  23. Yeah, give me 11 with Singletary/Knox or 12 adding Kroft. Enough of this "heavy" crap.
  24. All I know is that if we go 13-3 we're in, and we have a >60% shot at a bye.
