  1. As I posted in this thread earlier this morning, the more days pass the more this game looks tilted in Buffalo's favor (to me). That's not me taking the Jests for granted -- I'm sure they will play hard -- but me looking at the specific position groups and coaching and arriving at a conclusion that the Bills should win or push most of those matchups. For example, last year I would have given the Jests DL a big edge over the Bills OL, but the Bills have replaced 4/5 of the line with proven veterans (and Cody). Now that looks much more even. Similarly, I would have given the Jests an edge in ST but the Bills went out and swiped their best STer. I don't believe in Adam Gase as a leader. I think for that team to succeed over the long term they will need immediate success, because Gase is not the guy who will keep them together if it goes south. Greggggg is still looking for his next HC gig -- do you think he'll support Gase if things aren't going swimmingly? Then I look at Buffalo's relative "harmony" across the board; a stable coaching staff with a few noted changes (OL, ST), the same schemes, and an established culture that appears to finally be matched with a good bit of talent. I think the Jests will probably get a few good punches in, but the Bills have a strong jaw and will eventually get the KO.
  2. I think you were looking for this thread. Your kids would have found it.
  3. In a PPR league I'd take Beasley...non-PPR Brown is the better bet. Beasley will get the volume; I'm thinking an 80+ catch season, which is 5 per game.
  4. Cole Beasley will be my final round pick in every league I'm in this year.
  5. Could but won't. I don't think people understand just how difficult learning to play in the NFL from scratch is. I would be shocked if an NFL team puts Wade on their active roster.
  6. Nope, nope, and nope. Wade may develop into a serviceable NFL RB but at this point in his career he'd be a liability on any 53 man roster. He is destined for Buffalo's PS and we can hope he develops there.
  7. The biggest takeaway anyone should get from "cutdown day" is that the 53 who "make it" are not necessarily the 53 the team suits up on opening day. Cuts from one roster may be better fits on another team, necessitating additional moves. So, the "last few in" on any given team still have to sweat it out for a couple of days.
  8. If anything, I continue to feel more confident about that game as the days pass. Jets' first team OL hasn't even played together and Kalil admitted to being "rusty" in the mental aspect of the game -- the very thing he was brought in for. Bell hasn't played in a football game in 20 months. Their CBs -- which need to be a strength in a Gregggggg Williams defense -- are lackluster. Q Williams isn't even starting. They lost two LBs and their starting TE is suspended. Against the Bills' established, technically sound defense I simply don't see the Jets putting up a lot of points, and I think it's realistic to expect the Bills' DL to dominate the Jets OL. If Josh can pick up the blitzes and hit the hot read this could be a laugher.
  9. Nice to hear a guy talk about how well McD game plans and "figures out" offenses on a week to week basis. With Edmunds coming into his own in the middle of the D and an addition like Oliver on the line, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect them to be a top 5 unit and dramatically improve their points against and red zone performance.
  10. He's a special teams fixture which makes him, effectively, a starter. It will be interesting to see if Daboll uses any new formations to get him on the field on O this season.
  11. Thank God. They'd have to rename the opening coin toss "the gathering."
  12. Reich is a good dude. I wouldn't have minded him being the Bills' HC one bit. But it didn't work out that way and I'm very happy with McD as well. May the Bills and Colts meet in January for many years to come.
  13. There are a number of "experts" on this board who said Edmunds is miscast for the role, and who didn't contemplate what was being thrown at this 20 year old. They jumped to conclusions as they typically do, and I personally enjoy it when these "experts" are shown to be no more proficient at predicting NFL success or failure than any of the rest of us who are "just fans." I'll be just as happy when Josh Allen proves all of the "advanced stats" guys wrong and succeeds.
  14. I'm the guy picking out the grapes and leaving the melon in those "fresh fruit" platters on the buffet. Just letting you know.
  15. Is this thing still active? If so, I'm gonna go with "because he's no longer playing football."
  16. Yup. Saw somewhere that there are two teams (Giants and somebody else) who still have two veteran punters on their rosters. The Pats*** old punter is out there as well. Can't imagine the Bills being comfortable with Bojo going into the season.
  17. I rarely visit the board during games so that part of it doesn't concern me at all, but I will say it makes it extremely confusing to visit the board AFTER games and figure out where to post something. Can't there just be a pre, during, and post-game thread and keep it simple?
  18. He's been awful. The only question is whether you think he's shown enough to warrant further development. I think no, but I'm not the one making such decisions.
  19. 20. Years. Old. Given the prime responsibility on the defense. Wow, it’s amazing he needed to learn on the job. Those of us with an ounce of foresight saw what the Bills were doing, giving this kid a year to learn as they rebuilt the roster. A lot of you immediately went the lazy, typical route of criticizing the move and blaming the organization.
  20. Who’s angry? I’m thrilled that all of the knee-jerk idiots who couldn’t see a 20-year-old learning on the job will learn a life lesson about jumping to conclusions.
  21. Dude, I am going to so enjoy seeing all of the “Edmunds had a bad year” and “he didn’t look good, he’s out of position” ninnies eat their words this season.
  22. @MR8 your theory makes perfect sense during TC and preseason. Once you hit regular season, however, I think all of that goes out the door.
  23. I don't know if you've noticed, but Lawson has been playing great and is very stout against the run.
