Ok, so one of the things we do fantastically well here on TSW is overreact to a given week's result -- good or bad. I'm going to try and buck that trend here, because as others have noted the Giants' offense has some formidable weapons. I'm confident McD will devise a scheme to limit big plays but it will absolutely be incumbent upon the Bills to score points on offense -- I think they'll need at least 24 -- and to limit the turnovers that plagued them this week. Despite the Giants' poor showing in Dallas they will be motivated to win at home and even their record. I believe they'll learn from their mistakes in Dallas and feed Barkley more. They also know they got no pass rush to speak of in Dallas and will probably start bringing extra bodies to try and pressure the inexperienced Allen. I'd like to see the screen game if that happens. It's a little surprising to me that the Bills have opened as favorites, and I would expect the line to move closer to a pick'em throughout the week. It's funny, I think I was more confident the Bills would beat the Jets than I am about this week's game.

I knew the Jets and Giants each had their own "home" locker rooms, but you're saying they have their own visitors' rooms as well? Seems like a waste...

What I know is that more than 90% of teams who win the turnover battle by 3 or more win the game. The Jets weren't good enough to win a game yesterday that was gift-wrapped with a big shiny bow on top. If you believe the Jets are "good enough" to beat the Browns, Pats***, Cowboys, and Eagles then you must think the Bills are really good.

When you can't take advantage of four gift-wrapped turnovers at home and blow a 16-pt 2nd half lead you know you're in trouble. Next week the Jets get Cleveland on Monday night...if they don't win that one they are facing a gauntlet of @Pats***, @Eagles, Cowboys, Pats***, and @Jags, before finally catching a break by going to Miami. Love it.

Off the top of my head: Feliciano false start Feliciano PF taunting Morse ineligible downfield Hughes offside Hughes illegal use of hands Another OL false start (Nsekhe?) Phillips PF hit QB at knees No offensive holding penalties -- two 15-yarders and the rest 5-yarders.

Gannon seems to be mailing it in. His experience lends itself to being able to evaluate the plays happening in front of him but it's pretty clear he's not doing very much research beforehand about the individual rosters.

I think the whole point of the OP is that you learn more from actually watching all of the plays than by just looking at a set of random statistics. The results for the Bills were awful (no points, four turnovers) but an examination of what actually happened to produce those results leaves (at least to the OP and some of us) a different conclusion. You and many others are apparently guilty of a "results-based analysis" and while yes, the final score is all that ultimately matters, it is both relevant and important to understand precisely how one got there. And oh yeah, the Bills won.

Giants fans are also now ready to turn on their team at a moment's notice. For a visiting team, hearing the home team being booed is just as big a motivator as having your own fans cheer.

It was a desperation heave and yes, he saw Bell back there but to call that "pinpoint" is hilarious. Darnold and Bell made a nice backyard play but let's not go overboard.

Excellent post @mjt328. The Bills are going to have a lot of good things to look at on film this week, and should also be able to identify where some things went wrong. But the bottom line is that there is much to be optimistic about and the ongoing media narrative of "Josh had an awful first half" is way overblown.

The Bills won for the reason I thought they would win beforehand -- their defense. Yes, Josh Allen and the offense made huge plays in the 4th quarter but all of that would have been rendered meaningless if not for the D continually shutting down the Jets. The Bills' defense was the best overall unit on the field for both teams.

He's not. He's "giving him the business down there."

Offense: six "chunk" plays of 20+ yards and one TD Defense: zero "chunk" plays allowed Is that how this game is played? If not for the unfortunate turnovers in the first half (three of them were extremely unlucky) we're talking about a different ballgame. And before anyone chimes in with "but you can't ignore the turnovers" I know that. I can also read a box score that shows Buffalo outgained the Jets by almost 150 yards.

It's "the narrative" on Josh Allen that must be brought up at every opportunity. Truthfully, he'll probably never escape it unless he has a season of 70%. Even within games, that one pass out of 10 that isn't exactly in the right spot will inevitably lead to a comment by the announcer or analyst that "Josh's inaccuracy showed up on that throw." We'll just have to live with it for (hopefully) the next 15 years.
