  1. Bell has a sore shoulder also. The Bills beat them up and made 'em sick.
  2. Darnold has mono and may be out "several weeks" for the Jets. Just End The Season
  3. It's Thursday, and that uneasy feeling I had about this game earlier in the week is lessening by the hour. I'm thinking that the Bills will experience a large carryover effect from their rousing 4th quarter comeback and hit the Giants between the eyes early and often. This is not a prediction so much as a "gut feeling" but on Sunday we may witness the final start for Eli in a Giants uniform.
  4. I’m sorry, son, but there is a super secret handshake and password necessary for that information. Take care and Godspeed.
  5. Meh. Another example of why Beane doesn’t know crap about free agency. I’m in the right thread, aren’t I?
  6. I see what you did there, and I like.
  7. Lots of factors determine how a game ends up. Yes, the Jets got a lot of good bounces in the first half but I'm not focused on the margin of victory. I'm focused on knowing what my eyes showed me -- the Bills pretty clearly outplayed the Jets from start to finish in that game. Prior to W1 if you asked a panel of NFL experts which NJ team -- the Jets or Giants -- would be better this season, I think at least 7 of 10 would have said the Jets. There's no reason to think the Bills can't outplay the Giants for 60 minutes on Sunday -- and maybe some of those bounces will go our way this week.
  8. McD knows how to play this game the right way...kill 'em with kindness. It's an old Dean Smith trick. Back in the day you'd have thought the Tar Heels were going to be challenged by NW Texas Teachers College in an early season game.
  9. Let's face it, most football fans are unabashed homers. By a wide margin. That's one of the reasons why this site is so good -- I mean, we have ongoing arguments among fans who don't want to be labeled homers and fans who seem to actually hate the team. If anything, we go overboard to analyze why the Bills will probably come up short. There's very little of the "we'll win because we're great and they suck" sort of stuff that seems to populate most of these other sites. Giants fans are entitled. They're a historic franchise, they've won three SBs, and they can't face reality when they're not in the mix. It's unfathomable to them that their team is an underdog to...BUFFALO...in their home opener.
  10. So the Giants will be without their top two WRs now? I see this point spread widening in Vegas...
  11. Kinda goes to prove how dead on you were about the Jets, doesn't it?
  12. Yep, it's not wise to suddenly feel as though the Bills are world beaters but the Giants -- outside of Barkley and Engram -- aren't really very scary. There's a reason why the Bills are a surprising 2.5 point favorite on the road, because we already know that most observers outside of WNY still think Josh Allen stinks.
  13. No, the Giants' lack of pass rush was a known issue that they haven't addressed. They really don't have anybody to fear. I hope they start bringing extra guys because I think Josh has matured enough now to make them pay.
  14. Sure, I noticed it. And then in your second, much longer post you almost entirely negated any praise of Beane by opining that he’s not doing enough to put a foundation around his QB (despite the fact he spent the entire offseason doing just that). Just odd to me I guess. I don’t know if all of the moves will pan out but I’m sure as hell not going to suggest Beane doesn’t understand what’s important, judging by what he’s done.
  15. What’s the dilemma? They’ll play Nsekhe and Feliciano just like they did in the 4th quarter last Sunday if that’s who they think the best group is. You still believe Beane and McD are stubborn enough to play a draft pick over a currently better option?
  16. Smoke and Josh both said the route was supposed to go over the top but the DB had good coverage and took that away. What happened next is why you hear so much about QBs and WRs needing to build chemistry. Both players knew that if the coverage was taking away the deep shot Josh would intentionally underthrow it because the receiver almost always has the advantage there. It worked perfectly, and Smoke even drew the DPI had he not come down with the ball. And Josh absolutely looked off the safety before throwing, which kept him from being able to make a play on the ball. These things are actually practiced and it's not "dumb luck" most of the time. The game is 90% mental and the other half physical.
  17. Listened to a bit of Bob Papa and Charlie Weis on Sirius this morning...Papa is the Giants' play-by-play guy but is typically a non-biased straight shooter. We all know who Weis is. Both of them significantly underrate the Bills' offense and it's clear they didn't really watch the Bills-Jets game aside from a few highlights (I don't fault them for that, by the way -- Papa has been busy and Weis has to eat). They acknowledge the Bills have a good defense but Weis actually said the Giants' edge is that they are playing Buffalo's offense that "isn't any good." Now, in their defense both Papa and Weis have previously said they believe the Bills could be "one of those teams" who rise up and compete for a playoff spot, but I think they both feel as though the Giants are the better team.
  18. Huh? Which two? I assume you mean Morse, which is the other one? I think Dawkins has shown himself to be a legitimate starter. Spain certainly has. Ford is a rookie but has tons of potential. Long, Feliciano, and Nsekhe have all shown starter capability at some point. If you really consider TE to be an O-lineman then Lee Smith is excellent quality. Did you watch the tape of Sunday's game to see how well Sweeney and Knox were blocking? (Hint: really well) Your overall assessment of Beane is pretty shortsighted in my opinion. I've opined previously that last year's FAs were not intended to make the Bills great...they were placeholders in what they knew would be a lost season. Only Lotulelei was expected to be a real part of the rebuild. This year, what were the Bills' known weaknesses heading into free agency? The OL and the WRs. What did Beane do? Replaced virtually the whole OL and brought in two new starters at WR. How can a GM target needs any better? And next season they will have a crap ton of money and are already stockpiling draft picks (because of Beane's ability to get something for nothing). I honestly don't know where the incessant criticism of Beane comes from, judging from where this organization has been and how it looks now.
  19. Yes, I read that snippet as well and thought to myself, you've got to be kidding me...this guy obviously didn't even watch the game. There's a narrative about Josh Allen that is going to be next to impossible to change until the Bills get on some nationally broadcast games -- like the playoffs -- and everyone can see what he really is or isn't.
  20. If any of you have read Jim Kubiak's columns on QB play you understand he has no pro-Bills agenda other than he is writing for the Buffalo News. In today's column he affirms what many of us have said but the national and local media have somehow missed -- Josh Allen was not terrible at all during the 1st half. Enjoy.
  21. John Ross had a breakout game against Seattle and Cinci looked much stronger than I expected. Maybe Seattle's D isn't what we typically see...I don't know. But everyone expecting the home opener to be a cakewalk should think twice.
