Thanks for the rundown. I think if a great DE or DL falls to 25 he’ll be the pick. Having said that, I don’t know who would fit that Bill. The only one I can think of is Ojabo…. He has a very high ceiling but not that high of a floor…. The big point here is that you are right, if the right DL is there for Beane he’ll take him. It could be a mostly defensive draft… something like: DL, WR, CB, OG, CB, RB, LB, P…. I sure hope they know what they’re doing. I think we need a strong draft to win the Super Bowl…. But it could be mostly offense as well…. Tradedown…. RB, WR, CB, CB, OG, DT, LB, P…. I like both ways except that I know if our offense runs into injuries we’re going to lose. So, if we go offensive there’s a lot better depth offensively….and we can keep the scoring matching going…. I think we need an outside WR bad. And a big RB upgrade with Hall would be stupendous…. Plus a good guard for solid depth on the OL…. We’ll be perhaps the best offense of all-time. I like the sound of that! It seems we can get more impact on offense besides. The offensive players seem higher rated than their counterparts. And a first-round (or early second) RB can make a huge impact. In the second we might be able to get the last big, strong, fast WR …Have him alternate with Diggs and Davis right off the bat. It’s a need, imho. You can’t expect Diggs and Davis to play over 90% or anything like that. We could be crippled if either gets hurt if we don’t draft one. And like I said, this is the year to do it! So…. I hope we go more O than D this draft. That trade down is perfect. Get Hill around 34…. Go WR in the second or even trade up if we have to to get a premium outside WR in the 2nd… Then hit CB two times in a row in the third. Get a real good pair hopefully. Then get our guard in the fourth… the big needs end there. But then hit LB (a smaller need) DL and P…. Something like that…

We need another WR… We have almost no depth on the outside. None if Stevenson and Hodgins do not pan out. I’d love to add a big, fast guy who can leap…..(Watson or one of the other WRs that fit the bill…of course, we have to pick the real WR out of the bunch.) A WR good enough to take the double off Diggs…. He stretches the D, He provides another look, He provides the all-important depth…. I will say we also need a lead RB as well…. And a OG, LOL, you gotta have that depth on the line if you are going places…. With those three, imho, Our O would. be unstoppable…. I have no idea what the defense is going to look like. We have Avon who is a very good player but no longer special. Ed is good but small. Settle should be at least OK but his ceiling is a question mark. Same with Jones. Our young DEs are also a big question mark….So, we have a ton riding on Beane’s new DL, imho….you need balance to win a Super Bowl…probably more than ever before with our super charged AFC featuring nine Super Bowl hopefuls (at least)… We have the same LBs which I would describe as “good”. We have two elitely smart Safeties that are very good. We have our best player on the D in White coming back from injury and we have this draft…. I haven’t ruled out DL from this draft, but if we are going to support- CB, WR, RB and OG plus get a good prospect at LB and we need a punter and KR/PR….Looks like we don’t have the amo to upgrade a DL that already has 9 viable players… Groot, Settle, Ed, Von, AJ, Phillips, Jones, Boogie… And Shaq! Who is going to surprise out of that group and stick out? I will say this, if someone sticks out to them, they’ll draft another DL….

Their defense won them that super bowl victory over San Fran without a doubt. Defense wins Super Bowls. The Rams D won them the Super Bowl last season. The best teams throughout nfl history have balance. The Bills DL this year is a big question mark…. It could be slightly below average all the way up to very good…. We’ll see. And that is going to go a very long way in deciding whether we can win it all or not.

His big ticket to go to Buffalo is that he has experience returning kicks and punts. He is a McKenzie clone just about. I have no problem with him if he can handle both returner jobs. He could be a sixth round steal! I’d love it. It would also give us extreme depth in the slot and as a trick player… Couldit be we don’t use McKenzie more is because we are worried of losing him? Still, personally, I want the classic outside WR. 6’4” 220# 4.3-ish, 40” vertical… Lets give Josh an easy target for once. Give him a guy with a huge catch radius… Give him a big play waiting to happen. I’d also love this for Diggs. To take that almost permanent double off of him. Then we can watch Diggs make Pro CBs look dorky again…. Thats Christian Watson after one year of lifting weights a little…

He has experience as both a kick returner and Punt returner and that is his ticket to getting the ball as a rookie….

I hope we can run an effective rotation. I hope all four of the backups look great. We need an effective DL to win that Super Bowl. We need Von to be a Star…. We need the young DEs to be a lot better this year…. We need the new DTs to both stop the run and force the QB deep so the ends can hit them…. We need a functional defensive line.

I sure hope the Bills aren’t doing it again…. It being signing up a washed-up CB for no good reason…. Can anyone add anything to this? Is it a fact that he’s washed-up? I hope the Bills are looking at all the remaining FA CBs with a fine-toothed comb…. I’d imagine at least one of the remaining could still play… Certainly Gilmore could still play…. I don’t think he was the only one? Man, it’ll be depressing if we sign one and it turns out he is washed-up (again.)

It’s has to be Von, Ed, Tim and Groot backed up by AJ, Phillips, Jones and Boogie…. For certain, Von can’t do things by himself anymore. If the whole plays very good and we avoid major injuries I think we win a Super Bowl after all these years…. If not, the odds drop considerably, imho…. The DL is that important. And it’s on the whole line, not just Von, absolutely.

You never know. How good is this DL going to be? How much better is our secondary going to be? All we can say is we’ll see… I’ll tell ya, if that DL (and in turn, the whole defense) bombs fans are going to be asking tons of questions…. Now, I don’t think it’s going to bomb, but it might not be much better than last year’s and a lot of fans might consider that a bomb… We haven’t had a good DL since McBeane lost Kyle and Jerry got too old….which was the same time….

Brady is conceding his game to those three but not to Herbert, Wilson, Burrow…. Josh Allen has the ability to win a Super Bowl on his own, but usually the Super Bowl goes to the best team. I hope we have the best team, the best depth, moving forward…. I wonder how the Bucs roster is shaping up? All the better teams? It’s hard to follow….

Jim Kelly looked like a football god when he played in the USFL…. Kinda like how Josh looks in the NFL…. What would have happened had Kelly gone right to the Bills? Where would he be statistically on the NFL list? He made the HOF anyway, that’s pretty phenomenal….

You could make a very good argument that this season is riding on how good or bad our DL is…. If they’re good and we get a good WR and guard in the draft, I would almost guarantee a Super Bowl victory…. I think the have to be at least a notch better than last year… We have to be good at pressuring QBs… We have to be good enough take easy, constant doubles off Von…. Gotta get pressure from every side: right, left up the middle…. It’ll be extremely interesting watching them develop and learning to play with eachother as the season progresses…. Go Bills!

I should always talk of four Bills dynasties then… Lou Saban,, Chuck Knox, Marv Levy and McD…. I can’t help but think bitterly over the Levy Years…. Neither Polian nor Levy had a real lot to do with building that team as Bruce, Andre, Jim and Will were already on the team…. They got Cornelius who turned out to be not that good of a pass rusher and that’s what we always needed. Marv insisted on the small NT, and lacked strategy … I think the giants were lucky but I still don’t understand how they made those third and longs….How Kelly never got that last TD…. But we were small on both lines because of levy….and that cost us big…. I always wanted to sign Jerry Ball but we never did….If Bennet could pass rush and we had Jerry Ball we would have won multiple Super Bowls, imho… We also never could replace James Lofton….or Will Wolford…. IDK? It’s still raw I guess… but how do you not win a stupid SB with Bruce Smith, Jim Kelly, Andre Reed and Thurman Thomas (Polian’s best move) ? They wasted Bruce Smith sort of…. It was until we signed Bryce Paup that we did Bruce any favors…. Plus Ted Washington… Wade Phillips was also very close that one year….Now that! Was a defense…. im done ranting now! I sure hope Josh can win it all!!!! I say Josh Allen is the only Bill (besides he that should not be named) that had the same amount of talent as Bruce Smith. I sure hope McBeane doesn’t blow this…. Our defense might be very good this year but then again it might not….

I had no idea the Bills had 26 winning seasons! I would have guessed around 15… I loved the Chuck Knox teams, Marv Levy’s teams, and know McD… I’m not old enough to recall winning prior to that…Well, I knew we won but didn’t watch it myself, but 26 is pretty good really……I always thought we were mostly a laughingstock….Like way more than half being *****… Gotta win a Super Bowl this year to put winning season 27 at the very top! We have some more roster building to do before that…. Go Bills!

I doubt we select an OG in round too, but I wouldn’t rule it out. Saffold is injury prone now and signed for just one year. Bates’ deal is high for a backup but on the low side for a starting guard, right? That’s what I’ve heard anyway. Ike won’t be back till who knows how long. Now what you have to remember is how Allen looked when the OL was in the gutter. And how we couldn’t run for *****. That might happen again if one of the five goes down again. If we drafted a dominant OG our run and pass blocking would be even better and we’d have an excellent back up in Bates. Next year, maybe Bates starts again? Stafford will probably retire… The offensive line is soooo important. It is the anchor of Tom Brady’s career. He always had excellent blocking. If we draft an OG in the first you won’t here me complaining. and btw…. We almost completely rebuilt the DL this year. We have five new DL and I expect Beane to add to it in the draft. It is easily the most reworked position on the line. DE? DT? Take your pick. That DL, imho, is going to have a huge say in how far we get in the playoffs. We need the new DTs and young DEs to show up big-time. Having said all that, I’m leaning WR for this draft but not sure at all what McBeane is thinking?

Baahhh! I wanted to see Gilmore return myself. Granted the price was pretty steep, but I envisioned what our team might look like after the draft with Gilmore and Tre back there… Draft a fast corner in the third to back them up another in the fourth maybe get Jackson back to third string… I guess we could still sign a corner but Gilmore was a sure starter who might of had a fantastic season. I guess we’re not printing our own money…. Look like we’re going to sign someone I just have a fear that we’re going to sign another joke corner, another retire at half time starter. I wanted a sure-fire starter…. I don’t want to miss out on this WR draft! Dammit.

You know, I don’t care what anybody says, Christian Watson is next big beast in the NFL… He’s this year’s DK Metcalf…. I’m pounding the table for him at 25… Superior athletic score to anyone, anyone in the draft. 6’ 4” + big hands, dominated college competition, NFL bloodlines, amazing senior bowl…. If he went to Alabama he’d be the first to go. This is an amazing opportunity. C’mon Beane! Sign Joe Haden before it’s too late!

I’d put the packers #1 except for one very important thing; they stink in the playoffs. The whole gosh darn rotten team. Rogers included. It is impressive how they build their team and win in the regular season though… Even though their division stinks. They still win some pretty big matchups during the regular season (only to look like crap in the playoffs though)

Aside from drafting Josh Allen, 2017 is by far the Bills best year of McBeane… I say McBeane because I feel certain Beane was ghost writing most of the moves. It was the two of them, talking, figuring things out. Strangely, since 2017 they haven’t really done that well…. Maybe this year’s FAs and draft picks will be a comeback year for McBeane. They certainly changed the roster enough to have a huge impact. It will will be interesting to judge all five years after the completion of this season. Even though the last two drafts (21 & 22) will be very difficult to judge still. Free agency won’t though… This year it really is all about the rebuilt defensive line. How well will our DL play this year? That could be the answer to question who will win the Super Bowl? The Bills will need a lot from Von, Jones, Settle, Groot, Basham and AJ…. And of course Ed. I think perhaps Shaq and Jordan are here to win a Super Bowl as well. If they put their energy into training, their two pretty decent players…

I think Jordan Davis might be a pocket crusher….If so, he value goes way up, imho…. You know, a guy, when you really need a play, can knock back a couple OL and mess up the play; a Ted Washington type. If he is that, I want him (though I don’t Billieve this regime would take him. And besides, we have questionable DTs…no stars on our DT spots as far as we know. I have a big question re: these high rated Safeties. If they could play outside CB well, wouldn’t they be outside CBs? The more valuable position? If they can’t play outside, we don’t need them (unless we trade a Safety but then we’d still need a corner). I really don’t know how good these guards are? If they are special in both run and pass blocking I’m very good with it; especially run blocking. A great pulling LG that can also handle power rushers… I’d love it at 25. If you’re right and they aren’t special, I agree with you. If there is any chance either top back is there in the second, I think I’d pull the trigger…. My dream finish to this offseason: Sign Gilmore for two years at something reasonable (this may be impossible but it is a dream). Draft BEst WR available, probably Watson. His ceiling makes me super excited… 2nd rd. Somehow Hall falls to 57. 3rd rd. Best CB available (almost all scenarios still have a quality prospect nearly of talent of the second round choices). 4th rd. Best OG available…Beane strikes gold on the OL again. 5th LB. We need competition for the backup roles. 6th P, If we have a shot at a great one otherwise the seventh 6th OT we need competition for Doyle 7th CB….. both outside corners, if they’re out in the 7th take a S. We’re good at slot. I don’t see how we don’t win it all this way….. I think we need it all to build a great team.

If we were to sign Gilmore we could finish off this roster….we could build a Super Offense…. We could add a WR, a RB and an OG all quality picks…. Get another CB in the third round get the OG in the fourth… Finish the draft off with a punter, and adding good depth to the defense…. No one could beat us! It’s right there! I wish he wasn’t holding out for the most Pennie’s possible…. (MPP)….. I won’t be a happy camper if he signs with the colts…. They don’t need anymore help….

Bills fans are everywhere! At least that’s my experience…. I was just in Florida (Tampa area) walking with my father-in-law who was wearing a giants T-shirt and this guy goes, “Go Bills” to the giants fan F-I-L and I immediately say, “Go Bills” back but I had no Bills stuff on and we all just stared laughing…. And now I live in Rancho California, a suburb of LA and whenever I wear something that sez Bills on it, someone always sez either, Go Bills! Or recently an even more common reply, “ Josh Allen!” Said in understanding tone… As wild and incredible as Patrick Mahomes is, I think Josh passed him in both amazing plays and play overall….Josh is the six million dollar man….. He’s bigger, stronger, faster….has a better arm, is tougher (even though great passers scare him, you’d have to be crazy to not be wary of the great pass rushers) than any QB may be ever…. I’ve said it before… watching Josh is very much like watching Bruce Smith in his prime…Only it’s better because Josh plays QB. But that awesome greatness, freakish athleticism, they both have it and it is extremely rare.

Bucky Brooks was intimating that if you looked at this draft regardless of position, cornerbacks and safeties would be at the top of this draft. In other words, he’s saying that DL and OL are more desired positions. I don’t know if they are just plain out more valuable or just harder to find? I know the safety position isn’t included in most valuable position lists but CB certainly does. A great shutdown corner is worth their weight in gold in the NFL. If you’re building a team and you have an outside CB and a DE with the same exact grade, and your needs are the same, do you take the DL? Thoughts? I take the DL but really the only reason I think that is I love great DL… I guess even more than a shutdown corner. Though I cannot come up with a logical reason why.

Sign Gilmore to a three year deal. Draft Watson, then go lineman, then go corner in the third….
