A ton! We need two each of the following: CB, OL and WR… and good ones too! Nothing beneath the fourth round as it stands now, imho… Plus a RB and a P…. And if Bates signs elsewhere 3…. We’d need a starting RG, a good backup C/G, and a good swing tackle…. About a second and a fourth is what we need here. Right now, Dane Jackson is our only outside corner really. We should want Dane back to the bench. First or second off the bench would be nice. So, two good starting corners…. Yeesh! A second and a third is what we need here (it would be higher but I really think McBeanne excels here.) We have to replace both WRs Sanders and Beasley, imho….unless they feel OJ can replace one but that’s a big stretch right now, imho….We have to keep the number of good weapons high….We ran out of weapons in the playoffs two years ago and it was ugly…. I think we need to hit the position with like a first and a fourth…Really get a good one while Diggs is still around. Allen is our greatest weapon so we gotta give him the ammo needed. So… I think we need to go back to FA…. Maybe get a G and a WR or CB….At least two more good players I think (before the draft). Yikes! Are we going to cross all the boxes or depend on luck? We can’t extend Edmunds because you don’t give a pay cut in an extension. We have to let Edmunds hit FA and see that the market just isn’t there for him. If someone does pay him 12 mill or more a year we say goodbye and get a third rounder in compensation the following year…..

No, I would’ve gotten some bum for 2 mill. Case can play. So if Allen got hurt for say…. Six weeks in the beginning of the season Case might be able to get us out of it…our WRs would be sweating waiting for that ball to get there though….Case would have to throw a lot earlier…

It should be us vs. the Bengals I think. You havta figure the AFC West is going to beat up on eachother, right? The Colts will not get their man this year. Man, we have a tough schedule but it would be so beautiful if we could sow up that #1 seed. I hope all our playoff experience will help us get that seed while Cincy still figures it out and hits some dry times. This Bills defense could really struggle at CB at the beginning of the year. Josh has to put up serious points every week. I figure when Tre comes back and then finds his game, the other CB will do the same around the same time and we are going to be too tough to beat from then on. (Knock on wood.) We could actually start two rookie CBs in week one….Unless the Bills aren’t finished in FA it looks like we’ll be drafting two corners and the second one might beat out Dane Jackson….or Jackson might get hurt….. it’s possible. … It’ll be super tough if we have to play a good QB very early….. I hope we start with the jets. Then stay in the AFC East till Tre is back…. Ugggh…. I hope we don’t play KC or the Bengals early…. Maybe we ought to sign a vet CB? Even a #1 pick and Dane Jackson sounds very iffy back there…. We gotta get our rookie corners some playing time before we play teams fighting for that #1 seed…. Please Mr. Schedule man? Pretty please…. The good news is that if there is one thing McBeane and Leslie are good at its finding and developing players for the secondary …. LOL! Think about it…. The Bills did use a first on Tre but it was a very late first and usually teams don’t get a player like White that late. Then a fourth rounder for Taron is just a great pick for a very solid player. Then two FAs that were question marks. Hyde was successful before but there were a lot of packer fans that scoffed as Hyde as a starting safety. And Poyer? Completely out of nowhere as far as I know. And then the undrafted Levi Wallace…. And all our back ups are extremely well coached and don’t seem to miss a beat as long as their not replacing White. Pretty damn good… I think we go WR in the first because the Bills can find a great corner in the second…. (Maybe? IDK? Or we go CB, WR) Either way, it should be the right guy and that guy should be expertly prepared. Both of them if we draft two…

The phenomenon of Kiko Alonzo…. What a weird thing to happen….he was so good here…. That was a very good defense, thanks for reminding me. But this defense has miles to go! We gotta hope our young DEs take a huge step this year. We gotta hope those DTs can stop the run and get penetration rushing. It is going to be a different D this year. I like the thought of getting a CB by the second round and eventually pairing him with Tre. I like the idea of drafting two CBs to solidify this secondary.Another in fourth or fifth round. Carry four outside corners this year. Two rookies, Tre and Jackson. That’s one thing McBeane can surely do is draft corners and coach them up. (Though we are going to take some lumps waiting for the rookies to calm down and waiting for Tre to feel comfortable.) It’s what we do in December and January that counts and we should be fine then. Hopefully, our young DEs grow up right before our eyes next season. I hope Josh and the O can get us enough wins early…while we break in our first round pick WR! I’d love to hear a Davis signing right about now. Three years! Oh, how I’d hate to lose him….Even if we get a pick in compensation. Although a third rounder is where Beane shines!

Boy, I hope you’re right but I don’t see it like that at all… We have to pressure from other sources to get a lot of sacks. So, I hope to see others get sacks. I think offenses concentrate on Von immediately. He’s no Suer Man anymore. We don’t have an Arron Donald to take interest away from Von. We have to create pressure from every other player. 17 games now so 48 seems more doable. How many did we get last year? Too bad we don’t have an easy schedule again. We need everyone to play great on this defense.

What we need to do is get good by December; real good. Not just Von at all, we need a team. We need those kids to get way better. We need the DTs to be good football players. I like all three signings, just nervous I guess…gotta see it.

But! He won’t be a standard player in this defense. Leslie must make allowances for him. He plays the super-wide-nine position and he will play it from a more standing up position. His job should be to read and react to the play and cause as much damage as he can to the opposition. So, not the standard Leslie D…. : ) Should they try and make Von Miller fit their ridiculous D may heaven be kind to them for wasting such a talent.

Pretty sure we’re going to start a rookie…. I think McD started two one year in Carolina…. Neither was a #1 pick. I don’t even think a second. I think it a third and a fourth. For the panthers a year after Carolina lost Josh Norman. They started off very slowly taking their lumps but by midseason the Panther D was excellent again…Or, at least, that’s the way I recall it. I think we go corner in the second round. Or, at least go BPA between two positions (CB, WR) But I think WR first and former second because McBeane is excellent at identifying and training secondary players and they can make a Star with a second rounder….

First of all, I don’t think our DL is a beast. Second, if we keep Bates we have five suitable starters but I think we go OL twice in the upcoming draft 3RD and fifth rounds around, and hopefully the the third is another homerun like Brown last year and those are the five. Saffold is a monstrous upgrade. Dawkins and Morse are very good. I think we do have a good line this year…. Good DLs feature two outstanding DLs at least generally. I’m not positive we have one. Von’s are best now and he is very good still but IDK if he is great. We really have no one else accomplished in any NFL way I don’t think…I think at best it is OK to good. The young players really have to take a major jump for that to happen, imho… Plus maybe Settle is as good as everybody hoped he would. What we’ll have is the best secondary in the league by December or close to it… High pick rookie - TJ - Poyer - Hyde - Tre W. We’re either going to sign a vet and draft a corner high or draft two outside corners, imho… So, we’ll have excellent depth. If there is one position we can draft it’s the secondary. We have excellent coaches there plus Tre Hyde and Poyer are like coaches on the field. It’s going to have no real weaknesses with a little luck, imho… that’s our strength on defense. That and having no real weakness either. At worst, the line will be adequate I think. Offense is a whole nuther story. We have the very best QB in the league. Great weapons after the draft. Decent backs, a good OL and two, count ‘em two TEs! That’s the best offense in the league. Could be nearly unstoppable without bad injuries (knock on wood.)

After we addressed our biggest needs in DE and DT plus getting a fantastic LG….our thoughts turn to WR (Gotta replace Beasley and Sanders with some serious talent) and CB (we need a better D and outside CBs plus we have to wait for Tre.) I think we should go WR first as we are excellent at finding and developing CBs. 1. WR 2. CB 3. OL 4. RB 5. WR (returner?) 6. P 6b. CB 7. OL 7b. LB So, this offseason we’ll have really upgraded both the O hitting WR, OL, TE, RB positions pretty well. And really upgrading the D at DE (plus are 3 young DEs should be noticeably better) DT and outside CB… Our weakest spot was DL and CB so we did well there. Got a lot younger at WR and a lot better on the OL (I hope we don’t lose Bates for nothing…) Secondary should be our strongest unit on defense by a mile come December (knock on wood.) Best secondary in the NFL? A fairly good front seven…Groot - Jones - Ed - Von, Epenesa - Settle - Jordan - Basham…. It’s a ton different anyway! Then a decent RB room. An actually good OL! Not OK, not decent, but good. Great receiving weapons and the best QB in the NFL. Sounds like a Super Bowl winning team to me…. Go Bills!
