Assuming the Bills do trade up to #2 and the Dolphins rumored to be in love with Mayfield, wouldn't it be something if All 3 AFC East teams end up with new franchise QB's...

Actually, didn't the Bills get a 1st and a 3rd rd pick? I think the 3rd rd pick was used in the Benjamin trade...

I have yet to see any inference that the cost (potentially) in 2019 would be more than either be a 1st or 2nd rd pick... I am sure we can "survive" giving up whatever picks may be required without crippling this team "For A Long Time" as you seem to be suggesting...

First thing to consider is that #22 represents the "proceeds" of the KC trade - a free bonus pick if you will... After all we still got Tre White as our @1 pick last year... And if you look at #12 and #22 together you are essentially looking at two mid-1st rd picks... I don't believe that the Bills 1st rd pick in 2019 will be much different either. So you are trading 3 mid-1st rd draft picks for the #2 overall pick which you are hopefully getting a Franchise QB who may be here for the next 10-15 years. Yes you better get the "right guy". But overall for what you hope to obtain it is NOT an outrageous "investment"...

Typical GM Speak for this time of year... Never reveal anything about what you are planning to do... Notice that he also says in the article that the Bills don't have alot of holes that need to be filled? So when he says BPA is he really saying "take the BPA no matter what position he plays? Or is he saying "I want the best QB I can get"? One can interpret this in different ways... And I wouldn't automatically exclude Darnold from the conversation either. Until he is officially "off the board" one cannot assume anything. But to play along, assuming Darnold is drafted ahead of us and the rest of the QB's are still available at the Bills pick (whenever that might turn out to be) I think my order of preference (if I were McBeane) would be Rosen, Allen, Mayfield...

True though I only said that "we open at home against Carolina". But u are right to point out that EJ was opening the regular season whereas this would only be the preseason opener for Rosen - or whoever...

Perhaps if we do draft Rosen he will choose a different number...

You know what is scary though? The schedule just came out today. The Bills open against Carolina. Didn't EJ open against Carolina as well? I'm not usually superstitious but...

We'll see about that... My take on things is that McBeane had an opportunity to outbid the Jets for the #3 pick and passed with the knowledge that he could trade for #2 and get the guy he wants as opposed to the leftovers... At worst, he most likely knew that #4 was also available at a lesser price than the Jets paid for the 3rd pick if all he wanted was anyone of the top 4 QBs... I have a good feeling about how this turns out.(and I am normally a pessimistic guy) Sit Tight!

First, Mayfield isn't making it out of the top 5... You can take that to the bank... Elway isn't gonna sit there with Mayfield staring him in the face and not draft him... And the Bills will either trade up to #2 or #4...
