Actually, the one way for the Browns to select Barkley at #1 and still end up with a Top 3 QB is if they really don't see much difference between Mayfield, Rosen and Darnold for example... If the Bills are successful trading up to #2, I'd expect the Bills to choose between Mayfield and Rosen. Who knows what Beane really feels...

Trevor Siemian appears to be available from Denver. Is he an option? His contract is pretty reasonable and he is still young...

What the Bills need is a solid veteran backup QB who can contribute immediately for a few games when needed. Moore on the surface at least would seem to be that type of guy... I need to more from Peterman in training camp and preseason before I will feel comfortable with him in that kind of role...

There is another thing to consider here... Assuming that Clev drafts a QB, The Bills trade up to #2 or #3 to draft a QB, the chances are that by simply staying where they are the Broncos and Jets will each get a shot at one of the top 4 QB's...

The Bills have 2019 draft picks to "tap into" as well...

IT"S THE ATTITUDE!! - You don't succeed if you don't take risks. Beane is clearly a risk taker. I am quite sure that Pegula is very happy with his moves so far. And from the looks of it so are the majority of the Bills fans on this site.

It's the attitude. The OP is criticizing Beane as "going rogue". Beane is very aggressive - just like that "fictional character" as you refer to him... He is exactly what this franchise needs from a GM... If this wasn't his 1st year on the job I'd give him a contract extension. He's already earned it in my opinion. Easily the best GM since Polian.

Beane is the Gordon Gecko of the NFL... I think we're lucky to have him... We now have $40million in available 2018 cap space and $100million in available 2019 cap space and soon we'll have a franchise QB... What's not to like?

In the famous 1983 QB draft 2 out of the 1st 3 QB's chosen are HOF (Elway and Kelly)... I'd be happy with that result again if the Bills can trade up into the top 2-3 picks ...

I'd really like to see the Bills trade up to #2 if only (assuming Cleve took Barkley #1) to find out which QB Beane likes the best... My personal vote is leaning to Mayfield but any of the top 4 will do...

Beane does love his draft picks - He loves what he can do with them...

It's nice to finally have a REAL GM and COACH!!!

Everyone seems to be assuming that he is "Healthy"... All we have heard is that he has been medically cleared to resume practicing/working out. That is not the same as being healthy. Not knowing his true condition none of us can really comment on what the Bills should do with him. I think we have to trust that this FO knows what they are doing. They seem to have earned that based on the moves they have made so far...

One thing I would add to this conversation about the QB's is that I see some Jim Kelly in Mayfield. Kelly could shake off a bad qtr or 1st half and then kill you in the 2nd half... I think Mayfield has that same quality in him...

I realize we are talking Cleveland here but when you have an opportunity to draft the face of your franchise for the next decade, I don't think you can be so cavalier about which QB you end up with... GM's are people too and are bound to have "their" favorite guy... I wonder how the Clev fans feel about this... My money is on Cousins signing with Minn, Keenum with Denver and McCarron with Ariz... Clev drafts a QB #1(Mayfield)... Bills trade up to #2 and draft Rosen...
