I don't expect any mega-signings in FA... Mostly smaller affordable signings to fill holes where possible... The Bills are not in bad shape cap wise at all and can do some simple contract restructurings if they want some extra cap space for this year... Next year they were rumored to have close to $100 million in cap space so money is not really a problem...

I think the current phrase is "A good QB elevates the play of everyone around him" but I agree with your sentiment. Ryan Leaf had a great arm too as I recall. It's not ALL about "The Arm" although it's nice to have, to fall back on at times. Kelly could get off to a bad start and shake it off and get right back on track. "McBean and the Process" will decide which QB they go after. Let's sit back and enjoy the ride.

Remember I said in the beginning that he turns out to be a Brees or Roethlisberger type... They have both had those kind of careers I believe... So does he have to go to a Superbowl and win it?

The question is - What kind of success does the kid QB need to have for the naysayers to change their minds?

and give up something like #21 #22 and 2019 1st and 2nd and Glenn.... And whoever it is they draft, turns into the next Drew Brees or Ben Roethlisberger... Will you naysayers out there admit you were wrong about the trade up?

What makes you think that if the Bills traded up to pick 5 that the Jets wouldn't try to trade up to #4 (or higher)?????

I wouldn't assume Barkley and Chubb going in the top 5. I think it's more likely that the top 3 QB's go in the top 3 picks one way or another.

What's interesting is if the Broncos "win" the Cousins sweepstakes, the Vikings stick with the QB they know (Keenum) and Ariz quickly, quietly tries to sign McCarron - What do the Jets do? Are the Giant's more inclined to wanna trade pick #2 to the Bills over their crosstown rival Jets?

Why not try to get the best or at least one of the best - not just ANY QB...

Where do I begin.... EJ was never better than TT and preseason means little (Peterman looked good in preseason too as I recall) Wasn't it Whaley who hired Rex? Wasn't it Whaley who made the "Sammy Watkins Tradeup"? Didn't Whaley take full responsibility for drafting EJ in the first place? Or are you saying the Whaley was just another "Yes Man" willing to do whatever he thought Pegula wanted him to do? If that's the case Whaley never should have been the GM in the 1st place.

Has anyone stopped to consider that TT might not want to stick around if the Bills trade up in the draft for his replacement? He might feel in that case that he will get a better chance to be a starter somewhere else. If so do the Bills want an unhappy camper on their team and in their locker room. It's another factor in this equation...

Actually I was thinking of a very similar type of deal. I don't think it is as crazy as it sounds at first, at all. In fact if I were McBean I'd be doing my "due diligence" with the top 5 teams assuming that Denver is successful at signing Cousins. Whether the Bills actually have a big preference for any one of the top 3 QB's at this point is unknown. One would expect that they will be following and interviewing all of the QB's at the combine before making any firm decisions. And the unknown here is how healthy is Cordy Glenn? If healthy he could be a valuable asset to Cleveland, the Giants or Indy. Could Cleve have an interest in picks 21, 22, maybe the Bills 2019 2nd rd pick and both Glenn and TT?

I think that plan A (Cousins) is sitting back and letting some other desperate team out there over pay for Cousins...

Using Rich Hills Trade Chart the #2 pick is worth 717.17pts (#21 260.82pts and #22 252.71pts = 513.53pts) So basically, 3 #1 draft picks should cover it with perhaps a "sweetner" thrown in - maybe Glenn? maybe another 3rd rd? But not two more #2 picks certainly

Frankly, I think there is a higher risk of picks #21 & #22 BUSTING than #2 or #3...

Or take a chance and trade up to get the best available QB in this draft. Or you can use those picks and draft a bunch of MAYBE DT, LB or whatever the hell other wasted positions you want to dream up... Yeah - why don't we draft another Maybins for example - that was a real wonderful pick wasn't it??? ANY PICK CAN BUST... Stop pretending that there is anything that can be thought of as a "safe pick"... There is no such thing and never was... So take a chance for once. Trade up for what McBean thinks the best available QB out there is... The price doesn't matter... High Risk = High Reward

Face it guys (and gals) we have enterred what is known as "Lyin Season"... It's that time of year when everybody and his brother is gonna be "tellin stories" about this team liking this guy or that guy... The truth will only come out at the Draft...
