  1. One thing to remember is that you can excell in college just based on talent alone. When you get to the NFL where you are facing the "best players" the game changes and you cannot succeed based on your natural talent alone. Which of these guys want to devote the next decade or more getting to the film room early and learning the mental part of the game? Are some of these guys gonna be "partiers" or will they eat, drink and live football?
  2. I think any talk about the Bills not drafting one of the top 4 QB's is pure nonsense.... The absolute lowest they eventually trade for is pick #5 IMHO... Even then do they not need to worry about Miami trying to outbid them for pick #4? I really don't think that the Bills need worry about Cleveland drafting 2 QB's as some are now speculating about. 4 more days...
  3. At this point I am not believing much of anything I read about the draft. It seems clear that we won't know anything for sure till Thursday night. None of us knows the "context" of the supposed 3 #1 picks "offer"... Did they turn it down (assuming it even was actually made) because they like Darnold for instance and want to wait and see what Cleveland actually does? Are they hoping to get an even better offer on Draft Nite? None of us can know these things. And How does McBeane actually feel about the 4 Qb's that we are talking about? Does he have a "favorite" or does he like all 4 about equally? STAY TUNED... And can we even be sure that the Giants truly covet Barkley when Chubb might be the non-QB that they really want? If the Bills trade up to 5 the Giants may have a different opinion of the Bills offer... TUNE IN DRAFT NITE!
  4. That is not clear at all. The Broncos seemed to announce the other day that the 5th pick is definitely available... They have Keenum for at least two years and can use that time to develop Lynch. In the meantime they could use the extra picks ( maybe 12 and 22) to rebuild other areas of their team... And if Cleveland takes Darnold at #1 the giants may also be inclined to want to trade out of #2... Cleveland may still be interested in trading the #4 pick as well...We will soon find out...
  5. One factor to consider about all the QB's coming out of college is that in the last several years NFL offenses have been adapting to the college game more and more. The "shotgun" is now in use in the NFL much more so than in previous years. I think I read somewhere that Brady for example was in the "shotgun" something like 70 % of the time which is similar to what these college QB's are doing in the college game...
  6. Only 36? Like them bigger boobs...
  7. BRIEFS! or Commando... Never Boxers...
  8. 12, 22 and Shady for #2? Are u sure the answer is NO?
  9. I've said this before in another thread... If the NYG wanted him in order to make the trade to #2 and it saves us some serious draft currency I believe you make that deal... I have loved watching him play for the Bills but he is turning 30yrs old and this will be his 10th season. And this could be his last opportunity to get to the SuperBowl. I assume it also saves us around 6 million cap dollars (his base salary)...
  10. First, Cleveland is under no obligation to disclose either the identity of the team that has made them an offer, nor what that offer exactly is... They have a solid offer in their hands at that point... But for a moment lets say they tell Beane everything but need a "Final Offer" from us prior to the draft... What do you offer them? And assuming they accept the offer from Beane you've just traded into #4 NOT #5 as you wanted to do originally... But the most important thing you are not addressing is - What if Beane only really likes 2 of these QBs? The only solution then is trading up to #2... None of us fans are competent to judge which of these 4 QB's are the real deal... Only Beane hopefully knows (reasonably) for sure...
  11. Cleveland calls Beane and says "we have another trade offer for #4". Need to know your "final offer" for #4. What do you tell them?
  12. First you have to consider whether McBean really likes any/all of the top 4... He may only really like 2 of them for example... And what if Miami decides to trade up (#11, #42, #73) into #4 and we get potentially screwed... McBeane should trade up to #2 and be assured of getting the QB he really wants... In the long run, the extra picks spent on getting to #2 won't mean very much at all... They're the Deplorables... It's good to know that 3 out of 4 people voting "demonstrate intelligence" as you put it...
  13. You have to factor in the possibility of Miami or Arizona trading up into #2 or #4 as well... Assuming that Cleveland does what most are predicting (Darnold @ #1) there may not be a QB left at #5 or #6...
  14. F*** the price... Go get the QB Beane thinks is Best...
  15. That is not totally accurate... If the Giant's were to insist upon Shady being included in the deal (since they would be passing up the chance to draft Barkley) and might reduce the draft choice compensation abit, it might indeed be a good reason to trade Shady. And after all he is hitting 30 and might relish a chance to go up against his former team (Eagles) and perhaps even contend for the Superbowl... I'd hardly call that "zero reason to unload him...)
  16. The question I have is whether Beane would even be satisfied with pick #4 or does he feel the need to go to #2 or even #1(doubtful but not impossible)... Is there basically any of the top 4 QB's that he really does NOT want to get stuck with?
  17. If something even close to this happens I'll kiss your *** But I have a feeling they'll want considerably more...
  18. Aren't the Giants getting #6 and #22?
  19. I can think of at least one RB whose name doesn't belong up there... I'd much rather see Shady on that wall than that other RB...
  20. Actually, "after further review" I think that he actually did throw it LATE... You can see the receiver standing there at the 40 waiting for the ball to arrive... Granted that the DB made a real nice play on the ball but had it been there earlier it should have been a completion.
  21. Did you really expect to? Why would Beane come out there and publicly announce what he intends to do at the draft?
  22. The Bills projected 2019 cap space per spotrac is at this moment $63 million. Unless Jerry Hughes has a big season he can be cut for a dead cap amt of $3 million vs his roster cap space of $10 million for 2019 - a potential savings of $7 million to add to the Bills cap space for next year. And the NFL keeps expanding the cap by around $10 million annually. Sounds like a serious potential 2019 cap space of about $80 million to me...
