  1. I want a smart QB who can read a defense and instinctively know where to look, and accurately make the throw to the receiver who has 1 on 1 coverage. We'll soon see if Peterman has adjusted to the speed of the NFL game. I don't care about his 5 pick debacle last year. Alot of great QB's really sucked their rookie year. The good QB's adjust and learn from their mistakes. It's all part of the QB maturation process. Allen is going through it right now. All Qb's have these kind of growing pains. I was not expecting a playoff season. This team is building for 2019 and beyond. I'm going to be interested in how both of our young QB's progress this season. On another somewhat unrelated note, I think the Bills have discovered a pretty damn good RB2 in Murphy. If Shady can stay healthy these two will be big parts of the Bills offense this year. I like Murphy's seeming versatility. I want to see a lot more of him.
  2. Last year I forecast 6-10. I was most surprised that the new defensive backfield gelled so quickly. I didn't expect that. Also the Bills overall last year avoided having many season-ending injuries which helped alot. Tre had a great rookie year and our safety tandem became a real strength. I see no reason why the D (assuming a similar lack of season ending injuries) shouldn't be every bit as good. I wouldn't mind sitting Allen till the Bye week. Who knows what we have in Peterman. I've seen alot of pretty good QB's who had horrible rookie seasons before becoming really good pro QB's. (see Aikman, Eli, Payton, Elway just to name a few) If Shady stays healthy I could see 8 wins for this team. Injuries will tell the story for this team...
  3. The FO is just doing their "Due Diligence"... If either of their two QB's should get injured they have to at least know what their other alternatives are that are out there. How the heck does anybody fault the FO for "being prepared"? Some of you people need to just sit down and CHILL...
  4. I fail to see what all the concern about bringing in a new Punter at the start of the season is all about. It's not like Schmidt was all that wonderful/consistent over the time he has been here. I don't know anything about Bojorquez but have to assume that Beane and the scouting dept have alot better knowledge and info than any of us fans do. We fans should at least give this kid a chance before we start criticizing this move. And as far as Coleman was concerned no GM is gonna bat 1000 all the time. I'm sure Allen will go through some growing pains as well but I think his selection will be well respected before long. Lets remember that Kelly had two years in the USFL before he came here and didn't exactly become a "legend" overnight either. Overall McBeane have done a wonderful job since coming here and deserve the benefit of any doubt we fans may have. Sit back, relax, pop open a cold one or three and get the popcorn out... The future is looking more promising than it has since the 1990s... CHILL OUT!
  5. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/ Spotrac is showing the Bills at $8,808,091 currently...
  6. Is the Bills projected 2019 #1 pick better than the Jets projected 2019 1st in the Raiders minds? That could be a factor...
  7. Depending on what DaRaiders want in a trade I would think that replacing Mack with Hughes would give them a better chance to win now as opposed to getting Bridgewater and picks from the Jets, all else being equal. If McD is happy with the idea of going into the season with Allen-Peterman as his QB's then McCarron could be included in any deal as well although I am in no hurry to get rid of McCarron. He is QB insurance at least in case of injury to Allen-Peterman with a very reasonable contract. And the Bills should be able to meet Mack's contract demands and still have 2019 $$ cap space remaining...
  8. I agree with most of what you said here. Earlier you said that Mack would be a DE in McD's defense - so he would be replacing Hughes? Meaning the Bills should probably offer Hughes as part of a trade to the Raiders? If so the Bills would save Hughes 2018 Base Salary which is $6,350,000 per spotrac?
  9. Listen to Cowherd admit that he was wrong about Josh Allen...
  10. Some nice words about Josh Allen and the Bills coaching staff too from a somewhat unlikely source - Rob Ryan...
  11. Bodine was a 4 year starter in Cincinnati. He's no Pro Bowler but he's not trash either. Haven't seen Groy beat him out for the position yet either. Until something changes Bodine is still the starter at C.
  12. Only One Question... Is there anybody still out there who prefer "the other Josh" over Josh Allen??? Start Him!

  14. What has surprised me the most so far is the way he almost naturally steps up in the pocket consistently and his overall pocket presence...
  15. After seeing Allen play the other night I can understand why they (Arizona) were rumored to prefer him over "the other Josh"...
  16. SO.... If there was a "Redraft" after this game... How high would Josh Allen be drafted???
  17. Hey Man, Don't you go messin with "Wild Thing"...
  18. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/tampa-bay-buccaneers/jameis-winston-16725/market-value/ Hopefully for his sake he has invested some of the 25 Million that he has earned via his rookie deal... And even if not resigned/cut there will likely be some team out there willing to take a chance on him...There always seems to be...
  19. I see he has a nickname of Rock Hands Coleman... This does not bode well for the young man...
  20. I hear that T.O. is still out there...
  21. It's a very low risk kind of trade. A good deal for the Bills whether he makes the cut or not. But at the same time I wouldn't expect too much. I don't think this is the last move McBeane makes either. It's nice to have a REAL GM for a change!
  22. Exactly when did our country go Bankrupt?? I must have missed that one somehow! Last I heard, our National Debt stood at around 20 Trillion dollars - granted a substantial sum of money, but that represents one year of our GDP which is also 20 Trillion Dollars. That also happens to correspond to the entire GDP of the EU. (including Great Britain) At some point "The Stadium in Orchard Park, NY" as it was called when it first opened in the early 70s (I still have the cheap little commemorative coin they handed out to us at the 1st game played there!) will need to be replaced. Concrete and Steel degrade over time... It's simply a matter of time. NYS will be assisting/financing a healthy share of the cost with the Pegulas and the NFL kicking some money in as well. Fans will have to bear some of the cost as well. Hotel taxes can be increased to chip in on the cost as well. Perhaps NYS will approve of recreational pot which could also have taxes attached to fund projects like the stadium and other needed infrastructure projects around the state that need doing.
  23. I don't think anyone should expect any of the rookie QBs to start week 1. They all need to learn the pro game and acclimate to the speed of the game. This is not college ball anymore where they could literally be successful just based on their own natural abilities. Ideally, AJ starts the season and Allen sits and learns for most of the season. With their Bye week in week 11, they can decide if Allen has progressed enough to start, or stay with AJ if they are still in playoff contention at that point. You don't want to throw Allen to the wolves for no good reason too early. It will be interesting to see which team starts their rookie QB first...
  24. You keep all three. McCarron starts, Allen sits and learns, Peterman is there in case of emergency/injury... Peterman's contract is negligible...
